Eyes of the Nile - Iron Maiden Tribute Tonight
Scott W.

Great spot to see live music! The bar is no longer in the middle of the venue like it was when this bar was called Haven Lounge, now, there is a big open floor with a decent view of the stage almost anywhere you stand and the bar is pushed further back against the wall out of the way of the main floor. The sound is great, but lighting could be better. This place is definitely a dive bar geared towards the METAL crowd. It's not super clean in here and the bathrooms can get untidy; however, I have to hand it to the staff, all the plumbing is working and we never ran out of soap or paper towels. Drinks are reasonably priced. Tall-boy Yuengling cans are $5, single well drinks are $7. If you upgrade to the double, its $10, which is definitely the better deal. There are security checks at the door, no pat-downs but they use a handheld wand and check ID's. If you are under 21, there is no reentry probably because you do not receive a wristband at the door. The only staff that was friendly was the bartender that's been working there for 19-years and the security officer at the door. Everyone else literally had no personality at all. I only major beef with this venue is that there is nowhere to sit at all, the bar doesn't even have stools! If your over 40 and you show up at 7pm and stay for all the bands, your feet, back, and knees will hate you the next day. Last night (1/26/24), I came to see Eyes of the Nile, an Iron Maiden tribute band and two other bands Ensanguined, and Midnight Vice. All the bands were fantastic, and I had an absolute blast, but today I am in agony from those concrete floors. Conduit owners, older rockers like me need a place to sit now and then, please invest in some seating, even if you must bolt it to the floor. Tickets to the show were $20 at the door (cash) or you can purchase online through the Conduit's website via a third-party ticketing agency; however, the service charge increases the ticket price to almost $27. I highly recommend bringing cash and just paying at the door. I will definitely return for future shows, the only drawback for me is that there is nowhere to sit down. You can sit on the edge of the stage before the bands start or you can pop outside and sit on the curb. I even seen some younger rockers just sitting on the floor, God only knows what's on these floors. Other than the crappy seating situation, I look forward to making out here for another metal show soon.

As a local music venue, it's pretty good. The entrance fee is reasonable. Note that they only accept cash for the entrance. So either pay in advance or you will be stuck with the ATM they have onsite (with an additional $3 convenience fee) The bar drinks are decently priced between $4-10 a drink. And of course, it comes down to the band and crowd energy. We happened to see a great band and the crowd had great energy. They also had a small outdoor patio area for getting air/ smoking section.

I'm always looking for an awesome show at an amazing venue and right here is exactly what that was…read morefrom start to finish! The given night I came here Driveways was playing and I must say it was a super fun show it sounded good the venue was awesome for music and the staff was very nice at the door! My gps did put me in the wrong spot so keep in mind that it's around the corner so if you don't see it right away keep venturing and you'll find it! Overall super cool venue with awesome sound hope to come back here again at some point for another show! Until then see you in the circle pit!

This place is great! We went for a live jazz performance. There is no food, just a bar…read more We were in section B and honestly it was great! I wouldn't recommend section C - they had those tall metal chairs that look uncomfortable in that section. I honestly wish I'd got section A, but those shows sell out so quickly that it seems harder to snag those. The sound was amazing & the band was really talented. The look/vibe is really great too! The doors don't open till right before showtime, but there's covered tables & chairs to sit & wait. Parking was a bit tight. The doormen were very fast & efficient. Everyone was friendly too! Overall I really like The Abbey & am going back again in a few weeks, Oh - pro tip - there's an absolutely OUTSTANDING sushi restaurant around the corner & they were very accommodating when we said we were in a hurry to get to the show on time. Check them out!

4 Stars for possibly the oddest DIY event space / living space / arts space I've ever encountered…read more "Welcome. You are here. It is now." -- The words painted on the stairs leading to this magical place. How can I not be a fan of The Space? This DIY venue, with no signage, located above Anthony's Pizza in Mills 50 is just so crazy that it makes me want more. They host a bunch of odd/quirky/artistic events including Literocalypse (a monthly reading series featuring local writers), figure drawing art sessions, crazy dance parties (ex: SPACE-FEST), nude yoga, zine-release parties, musicians from all around, etc. Park behind Anthony's and walk up the stairs to find fantastically decorated hallways (sheets, sheets, and more sheets!) in what I imagine used to be a regular apartment. I went for Literocalypse one night and found myself wandering the apartment between readings. It seemed like people lived there- the kitchen looked like I had stocked it in my early college days and there were some homemade brownies sitting there, tempting anyone brave enough to take one. Their website, though minimal, hints to the goals of this place with a simple message at the top: "culture. expression. collaboration. education. inspiration. community. progress." It seems you can rent the space for events or to live there- "rental rates are flexible and donation based." I dig that they have a calendar of events that seems to be kept up to date. Unfortunately, I've heard that they've recently been throwing shows and events to raise money to save The Space and I hear that the actual physical space is for sale, but hopefully with the support of the arts community it will remain in its current iteration or another. In the end, Orlando is better for having these types of unique, non-judgemental venues for young artists to explore themselves and for us less artistic folks to enjoy something very real and untainted. And yes, I hear the dance parties are pretty freaking nuts (and hot, with only window AC units).
