I've been able to try The 13th Taco a few times now so it is time to update my review for this food truck. Taco Fusion Menu: Porky Asia, the best tacos on the menu (imo)! Pork belly tacos are topped with salsa prieta, apple relish, cabbage and queso fresco which makes these extra delicious. Vegged Out, another solid choice. This vegetarian option does not disappoint. Red Bird Cubano, just okay. I prefer the other taco options over these. Marinated chicken topped with a yukon hash, cabbage and queso fresco. Moo Moo, my least favorite tacos. Must like spice, the salsa brava gives these tacos extra heat that is extremely hot. A few of the pieces of filet were tough, I did not think that these tacos were worth $14. *Each order contains three tacos with a small side of chips and salsa. Mexican Street Corn: I love corn, there is no denying that fact. However, this corn is overpriced. Half an ear is topped with crema and cortija cheese for $4. For that price I would definitely expect an entire ear or for them to lower the price. read more

The people working this food truck are five-star types. I don't remember seeing this food truck in any of the usual places, so of course I had to try it. The menu is what you'd expect, as are the menu choices: chicken, beef, pork, veggies, fish. Everything except the veggie taco, is made with a corn tortilla. If you'd prefer nachos to tacos, that's a choice as well at no extra charge. With each order you get three tacos. They're the smaller taco tortilla that's good for sharing or sampling. There are also a couple of outside-the-box sides, churro bites and the mexican street corn. On this visit I went with the basic "red bird", a shredded chicken seasoned with morita pepper. The flavor was very subtle. I think the mistake I made was sampling the chips and salsa (complimentary) before trying the taco, and that dulled the flavor. The potato pico added some texture, was visibly "there" but didn't seem to add any additional flavor. On whole, despite the slight wateriness that made the corn tortilla soggy and break apart, I thought the chicken was dry. For a food truck, the prices look high, but because the menu has some unusual pico and salsa combinations (the sesame seed and apple pico that comes with the pork belly, for instance), and the different vibe of the menu overall, it makes the price appear more reasonable. I'll have to try the food from this truck again; but for now, it's a three and half-star stop. read more

We went to the food truck rodeo yesterday and I have to say I was impressed with this truck. we decided to be adventurous and eat the fish tacos. The fish was cooked perfectly and the flavors were quite delicious. The fried plantains were to die for, and they got even better with the salsa that was provided. The staff is nice. Last night my friends and I went to Bond Brothers Brewery in Cary. The 13th Taco food truck was outside. We were hungry and decided to check it out. I ordered the pork nachos and my two other friends ordered tacos and nachos as well. My nachos came cold, like everything was cold, the cheese and the meat. All three of us got food poisoning!!! I had to call in sick from work. I'm literally shitting out water!!! I will never ever go back to this food truck again, and neither will my friends. We hired 13th Taco for our 70 person wedding, and it worked out wonderfully! We absolutely recommend them! When communicating with them prior to the wedding they responded to all of our questions quickly and professionally, and they made sure that everything in our contract was clear and exactly what we had agreed upon. They even emailed us a week prior to verify everything once again, and to make sure there wouldn't be any ambiguity or questions on our big day. We were slightly worried about how fast they would be able to get food out, but it wasn't an issue at all! We did tell our guests to try not to all line up at the same time, which worked really well, and in the 2 hours the truck was serving all of our guests were quickly fed, and many even went back for seconds. So how about the food? It was INCREDIBLE. The ingredients were fresh, the food was flavorful and delicious, and their presentation is gorgeous. We've had so many of our guests tell us after the wedding how much they enjoyed the food from 13th Taco. In particular, our vegetarian guests really enjoyed the Chorizo Tofu option. They were able to offer gluten free options, and vegan options as well, so we didn't have to make any special considerations for our guests with dietary restrictions, which was awesome. Overall, we were extremely pleased with 13th Taco. The communication was great, the food was delicious, and the options appealed to all of our guests. In our - completely unbiased ;) - opinion, this was the best wedding food we've ever had. In fact, we tracked them down the week after the wedding just to eat their food again. read more

The Tacos were OK but way overpriced. Three steak street tacos for $14. Chili nachos (1/4 of what you would get anywhere else) for $10. I get that it's a different product than a "regular" taco truck, but I didn't think the tacos were worth double the cost. -Only one tortilla per taco, when they should have had two.
