The asada lacked flavor again good portions but just not what a real Mexican burrito should be. The red sauce wasn't hot and it was watery, just not sure I can return to this place, I was excited because several people recommended this spot and coming from California I was excited to eat some authentic Mexican food but far from it. To each is own but yeah not sure what the local people are talking about being great. I love spicy but I think for most people the spice level would be just right. At some point soon I'll try the tamales...they have a fairly large menu with meat and seafood dishes. If the tacos are any indication, the cemitas and other Pueblan specialties must be outstanding, especially since all the breads and tortillas are house-made. I can't say that the pastor was the best I've ever had (the flavor of Don Beto's may be a shade better) but taken as a whole, it was outstanding. The birria and arabe knocked it out of the park, though. The meat had a great char from the grill, the seasonings were spot on, and the counter person was thoughtful enough to indicate to these noobs that the smoky red salsa went with the arabe and the salsa verde was for everything else. Today's aguas were cantaloupe and jamaica, both freshly made and delicious. Although most of the customers are Latino the counter worker speaks excellent English and is very happy to explain unfamiliar foods to non-Spanish speakers. Parking can be a bit challenging but it's manageable. If you have any room left after this great food, the parking lot also boasts a seller of raspados and mangonadas and another selling fresh coconuts.
