The burritos here are amazing! I decided to order the regular burrito with verde chicken as the filling and it was soooo good. I have never tasted verde chicken like this before! The burritos are huge and the price is reasonable. I'll definitely be back! read more

I ordered the chicken burrito. The burrito was mushy. This could have been related to too much juice from the pico de gallo. The tortilla chips were hot and flavorful. My craving was not satisfied, but I'm willing to return again in the future to try a different item. Staff were friendly. The restroom was clean. The ambience was bright and colorful. read more

mmm~ A taste of home! Wow, after moving from SoCal I felt as if I would never have familiar Mexican food again. Baja Burrito makes a great burrito with excellent sauces, including spicy sauces that are full of flavor to go along with the heat. There isn't much to say about the service, you go to the counter, order, and pick up your food to sit at a table. It is very much a serve-yourself type if place. It isn't crowded with tables, so it is also easy to move around in, which I appreciate, though I may regret if I visit during a rush! I am looking forward to trying more of their options when I am in the area! Yummm! read more

Happened upon this place while touring campus with my daughter. If she ends up attending State, we will be making this a regular stop. I enjoyed the friendly staff and the sizable portions of tasty food. read more

This is a go to place for my husband when we come to Raleigh! He has actually been coming here for over 10 years. The menu is simple and the ingredients are fresh. You order at the register and by the time you walk to the end of the counter your food is ready! I made a burrito plate instead of having the full burrito. It was delicious. I recommend the mole chicken. It has a unique flavor and is shredded finely it's really delicious. All of the burritos come with chips but unlike most Mexican restaurants you have to request salsa for 55 cents. read more

Ordered delivery from Baja Burrito and they took special care to wrap everything with extra foil to keep it warm. The burritos, queso, and chips arrived hot and fresh! We ordered chicken burritos and the portion size was more than generous. We'll be ordering from Baja again! read more

4 years later, and Baja still has the best burritos in the Triangle. The fresh ingredients are awesome! The portion sizes are great as well! Try the nachos too. Yum! This is my favorite burrito spot over the past 10+ years. read more

This is the best burrito in the triangle by a huge margin. The Pork Verde and Steak are great, but the fish burrito is life changing. Homemade hot sauce is a must and the salsa/queso are excellent sides. They're always quick even with a crowd and it's a nice casual place to eat. NC State's finest. read more

I have eaten here several times. Yesterday i ordered takeout for the first time in about a year. When i showed up to pick it up they did not have it ready, not the end of the world as they were able to make it relatively quickly (maybe they didnt pre make it because i selected the option to pay with my card when i arrived). The most disappointing thing was the food itself. I chose the vegetarian option and it was just kind of gross. Im sure if i had got something with meat it would have been good but i would really urge this business to make an effort on providing a more tasty vegetarian burrito. read more

Baja Burrito - Burrito - Mexican Near Me - Raleigh, North Carolina

The plan was to eat hibachi next door but it was closed. I was left with the choice of a burrito. I almost didn't stop in but I was running short on time. I decided to give it a shot. It was such a confusing process to order. Instead of giving me the slip to mark down what I wanted, she started asking me all of these questions. My instincts kicked in and I started to answer. It was like some sort of speed game. By the time I knew it my order was ready. Holy smokes but I wanted sour cream? What the heck, I paid and took the burrito anyways. As I was 3 bites into the burrito, I could feel some overcooked rice between my teeth. As a foodie and ultimate rice-eater, this is the most annoying thing ever. The fact that I'm eating harden rice and it's sticking onto my teeth. I lost my appetite at this point, opened the burrito and picked at it. Overall, the burrito didn't taste that good and I was really disappointed in paying $8. I wanted to say something but I felt passive because I was in a rush. If management is reading this review, please check your rice, make sure that it's soft and fluffy. read more

Traditional Tex-mex style menu. I got the bean and rice burrito and it was a nice portioned size. Taste was good, a little bland for me - but I'll know to add more jalapeños or ask for extra pico next time. I got a side of queso for my chips and was a little shocked at how small the portion size they gave me was. It was served in a small cup as if you'd put a side of ketchup or something in. Not even enough to finish the chips or add any to my burrito (if I wanted to). The establishment was clean and the service was quick. read more

Baja Burrito is right around the corner from work so I've been there a bunch ot times but it's usually because I'm being dragged over by somebody else! It's really not a bad place, a casual college taqueria that's usually a bit crowded with ok food. The menu is simple: tacos, burritos, quesadillas and salads with your choice of chicken (mole, verde), steak and pork. I typically get the mole chicken quesadilla which is a lot of food. The place is inexpensive but not cheap, expect to pay $8+ for lunch with a drink. I'd give them a better rating but two things bug me about the place. The burritos and quesadillas come with chips but no salsa! You pay an extra .55 for the salsa, are you kidding me?! I mean the stuff is decent but most Mexican places treat salsa as a condiment, you just get it with the meal! The other reason is burrito snobbery. I knocked down a ton in SF so that's my standard. At Baja, they don't take the time out to squeeze the liquid out of their ingredients and don't steam the tortilla. So you end up with a very wet, loose burrito that falls apart quickly. A no-no in my book, burritos are meant to be eaten out of hand, not with a fork. So what can I say the place is ok but I always seem to leave a bit disappointed. You can do worse than Baja Burrito but I'm guessing that Chipotle and a lot of local taquerias do a way better job of delivering Mexican food! read more

Went to Baja Burrito with a couple of friends before a movie the other night. The praise was high as were my expectations. The interior isn't anything fancy. Bright colors on the walls but everything is pretty bland. I ordered the Deluxe Chicken Mole Burrito. It came with Chicken, Black Beans, Rice, Sour Cream, and Hot Sauce. It was plenty big. The flavor of the chicken was good but I was expecting more heat from the hot sauce. It was also really really messy and didn't hold together like I expected. Something that went into it was just too watery. Don't get me wrong I didn't mind the mess but I missed the ease of eating that comes with a slightly drier consistency. The chips that come with it are forgettable. It would really surprise me if they were home made. The service is forgettable. You don't have to do much to provide good service at a counter-type place but they missed the mark. Nonetheless, the burrito was good and I would go back to try the nachos, tacos, and quesadillas. read more

Located in the upper level of the Mission Valley center. Baja has been keeping NCSU students from starving for many years now. These are the best burritos I've found in Raleigh! Come here hungry because these burritos are huge. The burritos are wrapped in foil whether you dine in or take out, and it helps keep the burrito together while you are eating it. Tortilla chips come as a side but they come plain. You will need to order some salsa separately if you want it but you will probably need extra chips as well. The burritos are a great price! I recommend the verde chicken, but all of the meat is delicious. I'm going to go get another burrito right now! read more

I just ordered through Door Dash. What a pleasant surprise! Perfect balance of rice, beans, and fish burrito. The fish was flaky and delicious. The hot sauce was perfect!! I have my new burrito place! Hands down better than any others!!!!! I've had burritos in California (lived in SF and Oakland), Texas, Arizona, etc. Baja Burrito is amazing! read more

I'm a healthy eater, and it's rare that I can eat a burrito and feel good about it. Enter Baja Burrito, with whole wheat tortillas, brown rice, grilled fish, all-white chicken, grilled veggies, and other healthful options on the menu. Of course, none of this would mean much if flavor had to be sacrificed in the name of wholesomeness, but luckily this isn't the case here. Everything I've had has been delicious. And don't be put off if you come here at lunch and find a long-ish line at the register. This place is always well-staffed, and the manager (owner?) is fully on top of making sure that orders are processed efficiently and quickly. One negative: the tortilla chips (served with each meal) are pretty bad. I usually ask to hold them. read more

Great lunch place for a decently priced Mexican lunch. Easy walking distance from my work, so I can walk off campus and get here and back for lunch. I've had a chance to stop by here for a burrito and the service was quick and friendly, the food was of a good size and price was under $10 for a lunch meal. I got the Verde chicken and black beans, found it tasty and filling. It has a bit of a hole in the wall attitude, and I like it. read more

I love this place! They are always so fast, I got my order today the second I walked away from the register, and yes, it's right! It always tastes fresh, great portions and pricing, and complimentary chips are a plus. I've been coming here for 2 years now and they have yet to let me down read more

Cheap Southwestern eats that is a big win! I go at least 3-4 times a month for lunch. I always get the nachos all the way and my co-buddy always gets the steak burrito. The nachos are super tasty. They are steamed to melt the cheddar the way they should be. No mystery "cheese sauce" here! I also get loads of black beans, guac, sour cream, pico de gallo, jalapenos and their house hot sauce (which is pretty good - get extra if you like some heat). The steak burrito is as big as your head. Skip breakfast and dinner if you're going to have it. The staff is always super nice too. Great place to eat for the perfect lunch every time. read more

I love coming to Baja for a quick lunch or to grab a burrito to go. The service is always fast and friendly, even at peek lunch times when a line starts to form. My favorite is the spinach burrito. They have options for wheat tortillas and brown rice, which I don't see at other establishments like this. They also have options for quesadillas, tacos, and salads if, for some reason, you're not in the mood for a giant cali-burrito. read more

Baja Burrito - Come on in for yummy burritos. - Mexican Near Me - Raleigh, North Carolina

Based on the positive reviews (which I'm now noticing are two or three years old), I drove 25 minutes to check this place out. Quite possibly the worst burrito I've ever had. The tortilla was overly steamed to an almost pasty-wet consistency; the white rice was cooked to mush; the chicken was sparse; and the sour cream, guacamole and salsa that I paid extra for was limited to about 1/3 of the burrito at one end. If there was any cheese inside, I couldn't see or taste it. The chips were actually warm and tasty; but when I asked for some dipping salsa, I was told it would be 55 cents extra. There were only two people seated at a table at 12:30 pm, which should have been a warning. Also, the restaurant is located in an old, worn down, split level outdoor mall where half the stores are vacant, the stairwell up from the rear parking lot was dirty, dark and littered, and a few sketchy-looking individuals were hanging around. Needless to say, never again. read more

Service was really good, but food was kinda questionable. It was a good environment, and was not crowded.

Awesome burrito. Reminds me of my favorite burrito joint from back in LA. Had the chicken, but I'm looking forward to trying other meats. The queso was slightly disappointing because it was really thin and a bit watery, but I've had far worse. Overall really good. Will definitely be back. read more

I've been going to this place since I was literally 2. It's truly a hidden gem right near NCSU. I'm vegetarian (and used to be vegan) and they have some good options--nothing fancy but honestly I like that. They're not expensive and it's always quick. This is always a go to. read more

Fish Tacos were on point. In fact they were a little too stuffed for the tortillas. That's alright, I cleaned up the mess with the chips. The hot sauce isn't screwing around so make sure you like it warm (similar to Texas Pete Hot Sauce) read more

I highly recommend the chicken verde burrito. Chipotle is good but Baja Burrito is better and it's local. I try to support our local restaurants all I can after Covid but Baja burrito is a no brainer. read more

Ever since i've started work in the area, Baja Burrito has become that something I CRAVE (literally) when 11:30AM comes along. Everything I've had there has been amazing. Sure, it's not fancy food, but it sure is tasty and satisfying. They also have awesome healthy options. Brown rice, grilled veggies, grilled fish. it's soooooooo good. I usually get the Fish burrito platter with grilled veggies. Did I mention it is also superly college kids affordable??? It's also reallllly fast (almost jimmy johns fast). You just have to try it. Be forewarned, addiction may occur. read more

I haven't had a burrito in a while and figured why not stop in and try it. I will never be back again. The order process is a guy just asking questions and the paper doesn't even have all the options on it. While the other person was making my food I asked about lettuce. She told me it was extra. Really? That's stupid. I also go the medium size queso dip. So totaling about $11. I got home and tried the dip. It's water down and runny; tastes cheap. Ok whatever at least I have a burrito. First bite ok, second bite... what is that taste. It's over done rice and bad meat (chicken and. Steak). There is little to no flavor. I am not even going to finish it because it is that bad. I could have got better meat at McDonalds and spent less. read more

It has been a while since I have been to this location. On this vist I ordered the chicken verde burrito. The service was quick as there were no customers. When I received my order it was largely wrapped in foil. I felt as if I was getting something worth my money ($9.50 for a burrito, chips and soft drink). When I finally sat down to take a bite I immediately noticed that it was just full of rice with a sprinkle of beans and if there was chicken then I could not spot or taste it at all. There was no flavor whatsoever - and verde style should have at least a mild flavor. There was supposed to be guacamole in my order. I could see it but it had no taste. To make matters a bit more disappointing there was no salsa of any kind for the chips. The chips were stale tasting overall. Not really an overall value or a place I would recommend to others based on my visit. The staff appeared friendly but not engaged with customers. Its a clean simple place with plenty of seating and parking was not an issue. Overall the food was a huge disappointment and not worth the visit. I would highly suggest other mexican locations in the immediate area. This location MUST do more to improve its flavor quality overall if it is to survive. read more
