Happened upon this place while touring campus with my daughter. If she ends up attending State, we will be making this a regular stop. I enjoyed the friendly staff and the sizable portions of tasty food.

This is a go to place for my husband when we come to Raleigh! He has actually been coming here for over 10 years. The menu is simple and the ingredients are fresh. You order at the register and by the time you walk to the end of the counter your food is ready! I made a burrito plate instead of having the full burrito. It was delicious. I recommend the mole chicken. It has a unique flavor and is shredded finely it's really delicious. All of the burritos come with chips but unlike most Mexican restaurants you have to request salsa for 55 cents.

    Steak Burrito - YUM!!!

My sweetheart took me here the other day. He is from Cary and I just recently moved here from the west coast. The steak burrito was excellent and huge!!! Packed with steak, rice, black beads, quest, and spices, it was positively filling and totally delicious!

I have eaten here several times. Yesterday i ordered takeout for the first time in about a year. When i showed up to pick it up they did not have it ready, not the end of the world as they were able to make it relatively quickly (maybe they didnt pre make it because i selected the option to pay with my card when i arrived). The most disappointing thing was the food itself. I chose the vegetarian option and it was just kind of gross. Im sure if i had got something with meat it would have been good but i would really urge this business to make an effort on providing a more tasty vegetarian burrito.

Bean and rice burrito. Side of queso.

Traditional Tex-mex style menu. I got the bean and rice burrito and it was a nice portioned size. Taste was good, a little bland for me - but I'll know to add more jalapeños or ask for extra pico next time. I got a side of queso for my chips and was a little shocked at how small the portion size they gave me was. It was served in a small cup as if you'd put a side of ketchup or something in. Not even enough to finish the chips or add any to my burrito (if I wanted to). The establishment was clean and the service was quick.

Found A ROCK in my burrito. Almost chipped my tooth open

This was our first time in..the food was all fine a basic burrito until my boyfriend hit into a hard chunight and spit out a rock. We picked thru further and found another small piece of rock. I'm assuming this is just from improperly washed beans but we will sadly not be returning. :(

Located in the upper level of the Mission Valley center. Baja has been keeping NCSU students from starving for many years now. These are the best burritos I've found in Raleigh! Come here hungry because these burritos are huge. The burritos are wrapped in foil whether you dine in or take out, and it helps keep the burrito together while you are eating it. Tortilla chips come as a side but they come plain. You will need to order some salsa separately if you want it but you will probably need extra chips as well. The burritos are a great price! I recommend the verde chicken, but all of the meat is delicious. I'm going to go get another burrito right now!

It never came. After waiting, we had to flag down a server walking by, who eventually brought one--only for it to be broken. It then took another 10 minutes before we finally got a functional highchair. Throughout the visit, the staff seemed far more interested in talking amongst themselves than actually paying attention to guests. The overall atmosphere felt disorganized, inattentive, and unprofessional. The worst part came after we left. I realized almost immediately that I had left my wallet behind and called right away. Instead of any sense of urgency or willingness to help, the host who answered was incredibly rude and dismissive. Before I could fully explain the situation, she cut me off and told me to "call back tomorrow." When I tried to quickly describe the wallet--color, contents, anything that might help--she hung up on me mid-sentence. Considering I called almost immediately after leaving and was brushed off so quickly, it raises serious concerns about whether any real effort was made to locate it. I would hope any establishment would take something like that seriously. Between the lack of attention, the disorganization, and the way a simple, time-sensitive situation was handled, this place clearly has serious issues with customer service. I won't be back.

When you arrive there is parking in front of the restaurant as it's located in a shopping plaza. When you walk in you'll feel like you've been transported to a trendy, energetic, and coastal beach restaurant. There are also TVs at the bar if you are looking to watch sports. We checked in with the host and opted for a table. To start we ordered the queso (Smoky queso, pico de gallo, fresh cilantro) and added the smoky chorizo. The queso was very good and had a great smoky flavor with a little spice. You'll want to order an appetizer as chips are not complimentary. For drinks my partner ordered the strawberry mojito (Bacardi limon, mint, lime, soda, strawberry) which was good and on the sweeter side. I ordered the Desert Fire (Jalapeño infused lunazul, triple sec, chipotle simple syrup, lime, spicy rim) which was on the spicier side but was so good. For mains my partner ordered the Mahi Wrap (Blackened mahi, napa-romaine mix, fresh avocado, honey chipotle sauce, Caribbean salsa, grilled flour tortilla with seasoned fries) which had a nice balance of flavors. The fish was a bit overcooked but the seasoned fries and flavors made up for the dry fish. I ordered the surf & turf burrito (Grilled shrimp, marinated steak, queso rice, grilled onions, pico de gallo, queso fresco, baja crema, topped with habanero onions & arugula, cilantro served with black beans) topped with the tomato cream sauce. The sauce had a nice smoky flavor and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. As for the steak, kind of the same issue as the fish where it was overcooked/cooked well done. For dessert we ordered the Sugar churros (Whipped cream, caramel dipping sauce) which were served piping hot and they go perfectly with the dip. We ended up stirring the whipped cream and the caramel sauce together. I definitely would stop by salt & lime cabo grill for mexican food but would opt for just shrimp as the main meat vs mahi or steak. Looking forward to my next visit to salt & lime.
