We were stuffed silly and everything was amazing. The Spicy Noodles had a lot of lean chicken in it, which I loved. It also had green beans, bell peppers (red and green), egg, bamboo shoots and eggplant. It had a good fiery kick to it and the portion size was great. We really enjoyed this dish. The Panang Beef had a bit of spice to it too, but not as much as the Spicy Noodles. It was full of lean and tender beef, bell peppers, green beans and cabbage. The peanut sauce was so good, although a bit oily. I really enjoyed this dish too. My husband absolutely loved it. My dad loves Panang Beef, I'm seriously considering bringing him to Halifax (from Ottawa) so he can have the Panang Beef here, lol, well and obviously get a vacation out of it too, haha. Yup, it's that good ;) The small steamed rice was the perfect size for the two of us. It was nicely cooked. Service was friendly and efficient. Our food was ready in 15 minutes. They have a small area where you can sit and wait for your takeout orders. The dining room is sizeable. They only have indoor dining though, no patio. Street parking only. If you like Thai food, I would definitely recommend Cha Baa Thai. Delicious food, excellent prices, quick and friendly service, what's not to like?

Dear Manager, I am…read morewriting to express my disappointment regarding the service my party of eight received at your Queen Street restaurant yesterday, July 29, at approximately 4:30 p\.m\. I have been a loyal customer of Chaa Baa for many years, ever since you first opened on Queen Street, which makes this experience especially disappointing. Unfortunately, the service throughout our meal was well below the standard I have come to expect. Our server was inattentive from the beginning. When our meals arrived, there was no cutlery on the table, so we were unable to begin eating until we flagged him down and he brought some. The meals were also served at different times rather than together. As a result, some of our food became cold while we waited for the remaining dishes to arrive. In addition, no one explained that rice had to be ordered separately. Several members of our group received their entrées only to discover they had no rice to accompany them. They then had to order it separately and wait even longer before they could properly enjoy their meals. This should have been explained when our orders were taken. Our water glasses were not refilled, and throughout the meal we repeatedly had to look for or chase down our server whenever we needed assistance. To make matters worse, the server spilled liquid on the table and used my cloth napkin to wipe it up. In doing so, he also took away my cutlery, assuring me that he would return with a clean napkin and fresh utensils. Neither ever arrived. By the time I was able to get anyone's attention again, I ended up eating my meal with a large serving spoon because I had no other utensils available. Additionally, there was an argument and loud voices coming from the kitchen, which made us feel uncomfortable. We were the only patrons in the restaurant at the time, which made the situation even more noticeable and unsettling. Given this, I must ask why the service was so abominable during our visit. I was embarrassed that I had recommended your restaurant to my friends, especially because I have always spoken so highly of Chaa Baa over the years. I hope you will share this feedback with your management team and use it as an opportunity to improve the level of service provided to your guests. While the food itself was enjoyable, the service significantly diminished what should have been a pleasant dining experience.

We officially begin our three-week Canadian adventure in Halifax, Nova Scotia with lunch at Side…read moreHustle, an Asian fusion restaurant that turned out to be the perfect way to kick off our trip. The Asian fusion entrées looked outstanding, but we had come to Nova Scotia Hoping for fresh seafood. Then my eyes landed on "Fish Tacos". My heart skipped a beat. When our server told us they were prepared with haddock, the Hallelujah Chorus immediately began playing in my head. Haddock is native to the cold waters off Nova Scotia, so it simply doesn't get any fresher than that. As an added bonus, we ordered the garlic aioli fries, generously sprinkled with Parmesan and Romano cheese. While our meals were being prepared, our server, Jacob, completely won us over with his warm personality, attentive service, and fascinating insights into life in Nova Scotia. At the time, we were the only guests in the restaurant, and he laughed as he explained that 32°C was considered a bit on the warm side for the locals. If they weren't working, he said, they were probably at home enjoying the air-conditioning! Then our food arrived. It was beautifully plated, but the presentation was only the opening act. When I took my first bite ... oh my goodness! It was without question, the most delicious fish taco I have ever eaten. Even my 74-year-old taste buds perked up like my kitty when she hears the rustling of her treat bag. Every bite delivered a delicate crunch, followed by moist, flaky, haddock, complemented by sweet, pineapple bits, pickled jalapeños, avocado aïoli, and a light dusting red pepper flakes. The balance of flavors were simply extraordinary. Honestly, I can't imagine a better fish taco. The restaurant itself is equally inviting. Natural wood finishes create a warm relaxed atmosphere. that makes you want to linger. The portions were generous. The prices are reasonable and Jacob's outstanding hospitality elevated the entire dining experience. If your travels bring you anywhere near Halifax, do yourself a favor and stop by Side Hustle in Dartmouth on the other side of the bay. It's one of those delightful culinary gems that you'll remember long after the last bite and one we will enthusiastically recommend to anyone visiting the Halifax/Dartmouth area of Nova Scotia.

Wasn't terribly busy the Saturday night I went - probably because between Christmas and New Years. Tried a variety of appetizers and shareable. The chicharron and Brussels sprouts were stars. The Mac fries weren't bad. Had the Hustle Fried Ride with pork belly. Beautifully presented with good flavour - rice was a bit saucier than I would have liked. Great service, nice ambience. Will go back to try their Sunday brunch!!!
