We popped in to this fabulous local AZ brewery + pub outside of Pine for some food and beer before heading to our camp site on the rim. Judging by the reviews on Yelp, I wasn't super sure what to expect (it totally deserves more than 3.5 stars!!) but ended up being SO pleasantly surprised! My husband ordered their beer flight which consisted of 6 beer samples (about a pint and a half of beer total) for $7 and you get to pick which 6 you want to try! SO COOL! He loved every single one of them. I had the Strawberry Blonde and i'm now HOOKED! It was so refreshing and had the perfect hint of strawberry, not overpowering. I can't wait to find it in Phoenix. I hear they sell some of their beers in the Valley. As for the food, that too was delicious! We started with their fried pickle spears and they were so yummy! Perfectly crispy and the ranch was AMAZING. For lunch, I ordered their buffalo chicken sandwich and it was a dream as well. I love that they use Pepper Jack cheese and the chicken was grilled to perfection (not fried). I ordered tots on the side because duh. (NO PHOTOS OF THIS BECAUSE I DOVE RIGHT IN! Whoops.) We were too full for dessert but the waitress talked us into their chocolate mousse made in house with one of their stout beers. I. Am. Obsessed. GET IT, you will have no regrets. The service was so friendly, FAST, and their patio was dog friendly so our sweet sheepie enjoyed the beautiful weather with us. We will definitely be back on our next camping adventure near the rim! Nice wait staff, big patio area, decent french fries. My friend enjoyed her chicken salad. The beers were good. The burger buns, the lettuce and tomato were good... the burger patty was DISGUSTING. My other friend said hers was crunchy. Mine had the texture and taste of a grade B frozen patty (the kind with the paper in between each patty) that had been in the freezer for a year or maybe even 2. Literally EVERYTHING else was great. I came here for dinner with family and was very pleased with everything - friendly service, quality of the food, and variety of beers. I didn't know what to expect since I've never been here before. Walking in we were immediately greeted by a friendly staff member. There was a 15 minute wait and then we were seated towards the back - we had a party of 8 people. The menu had a little bit of everything - burgers, sandwiches, salads, chili, etc. I had ordered the Chili and was surprised by how tasty it was. It tatsed just like regular chili. I couldn't taste the elk. The service was great, our server did a fabulous job - constantly checking on us and refilling our drinks. The food was pretty good - I only tried the Chili, so my review is based on that dish. I didn't drink any beer, but my boyfriend liked the different variety they offered. For the price and the kind of restaurant this is, we shouldn't get smaller portions. I was dissa pointed too because I asked our waiter about the portion size of a particular dish (we had just finished a hike in the area so we were hungry!) (the bratwurst with saurkraut). He indicated it was a good sized meal. While it was delicous, that was not an accurate description. I left hungry :-( The burger my wife got was OK...over hyped in the menu perhaps. After visiting THAT Brewery numerous times since my first review (including most recently their Oktoberfest event), I can say without a doubt this is my favorite brewery north of the valley! Their strawberry blonde is one of my go-to beers and always satisfies especially from the tap. Their food is excellent and affordably priced especially their happy hour! It's also so cool that they put on events like Oktoberfest that really add to an already fun adventure into rim country. If you're around the Mogollon Rim, do yourself a favor and visit one of their two locations -- Cottonwood (where most of the production takes place--no food served except popcorn and snacks) or Pine (original facility, still brew some beer on site and serves food). read more

Amazing beer, food, bartenders, and good prices. Whatever you get, make sure you try the pickled veggies! Got the burger with those and That Beer Cheese and bacon with the perfect French fries (just the right amount of salt). Tried both IPAs. I was really impressed with both. One was a session, which are hard to make taste good with a low ABV (3.9%) and it was amazing. Outdoor games and seating too and a vball court! Super cute inside and out. Love this place! Been coming to Pine for the last decade and recently moved up here full time. Wish they could get some more help, but it's always consistent and the staff is friendly! Definitely will keep frequenting often. My recommendation (elk and beef chili, Carolina gold wings, or the crispy Buffalo chicken sandwich with bacon added. I'm a big fan of light beer or IPAs and they have a good choice of either. I always do the road rash for a good strong ipa at 7%, and the fossil creek is a good session sitting at 4.2%. read more

This is a cool pet friendly place to try as long you are not eating here. The service is horrible , first they ask you if you want to seat outside or inside but forgot to mention one of the outside areas are smoking and no food service. They make you feel like you are a bother to them for making them work. We were told the bartender will take our drink and food order. That didn't happened she call somebody else that mentioned she didn't feel like working. Five ladies working the place and none of them seem happy to be there. 3 stars was just been generous. The service was amazing, food was delicious (elk burger and smoked brat). I normally don't have dessert but since the atmosphere was so relaxing and didn't really want to leave I ordered the peach cobbler. We were visiting the beautiful pine area and stumbled across this great place. Our waitress was personable, quick, and even brought my dog a bowl of water. Mac in cheese is great! Outdoor seating. I'm sure outside of Covid it's even more of a blast. They have volleyball, horse shoes, and other outdoor activities that were not open due to situation. They had tables separated by about 10 feet and all the staff was wearing masks. We really enjoyed the visit and service and ambiance really made our experience! read more

I used to come here every year, the night before Zane Grey 50 mile run. I was not able to do so the last couple of years. I decided to take a short trip to hike part of the high line trail and stop at THAT Brewery to recreate the magic of years past. I ordered the light but refreshing Strawberry Blonde. The first sip brought back the magic, this was a great start. I ordered the soft pretzels, the burger du jour (fire something rather) with habaneros and some other peppers, pepper-jack cheese and the only burgers that came with sweet potato waffle fries. There's a story about the exclusivity of these fries related to a charity event for 4H. I also ordered a sandwich to go. My to go order showed up first, way before the pretzels. The pretzels finally showed up with beer cheese, a fresh combo that was very satisfying. Then the $12 burger showed up, it did have some heat but did not pack a lot of flavor. The bun was disappointing, same for the raw onion, lettuce and tomato, very blend. The waffle sweet potato fries were nothing to write about. Why make this exclusive to this burger? Some people next to me were a bit upset about it. Overall the food was very greasy. The menu has changed, the quality seems to have gone down. They only make pizzas on Thursday, why? Some of the Phoenicians around enjoyed their food though. The service overall was good. Waiter spoke way too fast when describing the daily special. I'm not sure I will go back. Next time I come down to Pine, I will give another business up the street a shot. As a supporter of the AZ Trail association, and THAT is as well, I'm disappointed. read more

I was really hoping this would be a 5 star review, but a few things gave us a less than desirable experience. We came here around 2:30 pm on a Saturday. The place was pretty busy, which I imagine happens during the summer months. While we were waiting for a table we noticed an insane amount of flies outside by peoples food. Not sure if the restaurant tries to control that, but it was enough to make us want to eat inside. Our table ended up being inside and our server was hopefully just having a bad day, but she was AWFUL. As soon as we sat down I could hear her complaining that she was double sat. I used to work in a restaurant and understand the frustrations of this, but you shouldn't EVER make you guests feel like a burden for your host seating them in your section. When the server did come by she was very cold to us. I ordered a drink and when she slammed (yes, she actually slammed my drink down) it down a large portion spilled out of it. She never even acknowledged this and I had to clean it up myself. When our food came, it was less than impressive. The beer cheese that came with my pretzels was lukewarm and super thick because it wasn't hot. I asked our server for some beer mustard too and she said she'd bring me some and never came back to our table. I ended up doing without. The lettuce on my salad was also really gross. Some parts were edible and other pieces were so old that they were slimy and very unappetizing. I couldn't even finish it. Had it been fresh, it would have been really good. My husband got the prime rib sandwich and said it was okay. Nothing to write home about. The beer was tasty though, so I will give them that. It sucks we had such awful service or else I would have loved to give more stars. The couple next to us had a different server who was so friendly and attentive. I think she would have made our experience much better. If we're in the area, I would like to go back, but I won't be expecting much. read more

We drove by THAT a year ago, during the summer, sadly to find them closed on a Monday and Tuesday. Luckily we drove by on a Sunday and enjoyed a refreshing break and bite on our way to the mountain. We ordered the pretzel sticks and soup of the day, white bean chicken, and a beer each as we were just snacking. The pretzels were super good, just the right amount of salt and bite to it along with the beer cheese .... MM GOOD The soup was amazing! We were totally mind blown to find the chicken plentiful and better yet grilled before being placed in the broth. The broth was full of flavor and super creamy. Lastly we tried the Raspberry beer and the orange creamscicle porter, raspberry was rich with the fruity flavor but not overly sweet and the porter was good but I didn't get that orange flavor at all.
