I also did get takeout only. For being takeout though, the food was good. Everything was packaged well to keep it fresh. The restaurant was beautiful, peaceful, and very clean when I picked the food up, and staff was very friendly. I tried the Non-Vegetarian Thali. The Chicken Tikka was nice and moist, with sauce that was a little sweeter than some. The lamb had a good flavor and a good amount of spice, the samosa was perfectly cooked. They were even thoughtful to add in extra sauces, which you sometimes don't see included with a thali. I especially liked the dessert, the rice pudding was excellent! This place gets pretty busy during the lunch rush. The food is very clean and fresh tasting. Doesn't leave you feeling stuffed but the buffet style can allow you to overdo it! They change the food options daily so you never know what you're going to get. The workers are very tentative with seating customers, cleaning dirty plates, and refilling water. Someone will seat you when you arrive and then you can go through the buffet as many times as you like. Pay at the register when you're all through. This was my first time trying out Thali and it was delicious. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. I give this place 4 starts because I do not think that it is better than other restaurants in that area (I have a few other Indian restaurants that I'd prefer over Thali) and also when the waiter asked us which level spiciness we like we said medium. But that was definitely not a medium. It was very spicy and and I had to sip on my mango lassi every time I had a bite of the food lol. I like spicy but that was another level spicy :D So I'd suggest if you like a medium spicy level tell them mild spicy level haha. Other than that I enjoyed our dinner at Thali. We ordered samosa, chicken tikka & tandoori chicken. Each entre' comes with basmati rice. The chicken was so tender, so succulent, so flavorful. You must try it. I wrote this regarding my experience with the takeout option so I cannot speak for in-house dining experience. I love Indian food and I wouldn't call myself an expert on it. I just really love the flavors and the texture if everything I have. My favorite dish is saag with lamb and this place perfected it! They added more seasoning to the dash dish and it was more distinct than the way other restaurants made it. The chicken tikka marsala was also top notch and was much more rounded in flavor than others I have tried! I also really liked their fried cauliflower dish a lot as well. They have many flavors of naan and I would suggest getting the unique flavors to try like the Peshawari naan since my boyfriend said it was delicious and tasted like dessert naan! read more

The ambiance is very utilitarian -- clean and modern, with more abstract art than the traditional Indian scenes, but there is a TV in the back with Bollywood videos going. Anyway -- the food was great! So great I came back another night. My personal recommendation is the Mango Chicken, which was nicely complex and not too sweet. The second visit was on a slow night and the owner herself recommended the Daba Chicken, which turned out to be delicious. Yum yum yum! Today was our first time at Thali and we loved it. The buffet was delicious - a nice assortment of dishes that were all fresh and tasty. I really enjoyed everything especially the chicken curry and tikka masala. My kids could have gobbled down all the Gulab Jamoon after lunch was done. Beyond the food being great, the service was great. The family that owns it is very friendly and welcoming. You can tell they have a lot of repeat customers which is always a great sign.
