The palak Paneer was a repeat from our last visit. On last visit it tasted excellent. Was bit low on the ginger strips garnish. Improvement in rice. No oil was perceived. Plain Naan was super. Great meal at Royale Curry last night. The chilli momos were outstanding. Deep fried dumplings in a delicious chili sauce. I could have eaten a 2nd order. So good. We also got the bread basket to sample the various Indian breads but it was way too much for the two of us. Would be better if they offered a small and larger size. But still tasty. Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala were both very good as well. But the highlight were the momos. Definitely coming back. read more

I've got a new go-to Indian restaurant. I tell people where I live and people often say "ooooh, you've got good Indian food." "Yeah. It depends what you're looking for", I reply because we're spoiled for choice. We've got regional-specialty places, places that specialize in specific dishes, nouveau Indian, Chindian, Nepali, some more casual, some more reserved for special occasions. Royale Curry is your straight-down-the-middle Indian restaurant serving the greatest hits, predominantly from North India. I've had several favorite of this type over the years, but restaurants rise/fall and chefs come/go. At worst, things here are very good. First of all, the place is new so the service is super eager and attentive. Secondly, they make all their dishes fresh, so your main dishes take a bit more time to come out. And you can tell the quality in the spices and ingredients. Third, the prices are affordable and the serving sizes are reasonable. Fourth, the quality is consistent, plus some extra details that some other places don't do. Their chefs add fresh ginger strips to add heat to their dishes, which I love. I got pan-fried chicken momos (10) and roti. The server thought the roti by itself might be a little dry so they brought sauce. The meal came with a saj bread starter with three tasty sauces. This is a new Indian restaurant in Cary. I walked in and I found the place to be clean, ample and very pleasant. I asked if they had a Lunch menu since it was 2:40 pm and the nice server said they did. Lucky for me their Lunch specials star at 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. I ordered the Lamb Saag, naan and a soft drink. The dish was served in perfect state, The rice was hot and fresh as was the naan. The Lamb saag was delicious and at a spice level of 1 (one) was perfect for my taste. I ate everything and was left very satisfied. I will come back! The bill was under $20,00 minus tip. read more

Wow, okay. This was my first time ordering from Royal Curry. I was having one of those indian food cravings, and was in Cary. So I did a search and noticed all the positive reviews and high rating. So I took a chance and ordered some takeout. Definitely glad I did!! This is absolutely a go to spot. Even though I was just there to pick up, the staff couldn't have been any nicer. They're were pleasant, communicated several times about my order and offered me something to drink. I ordered palak paneer, vegetable biryani, and govi manchurian. Each one was absolutely delicious. Their prices were better than some other good indian restaurants, portions were good, and the decor was pleasant. I will definitely be back. read more

I was so excited to try their Dahi Pappri especially since the menu description says it is topped with creamy yogurt and tangy chutneys. Once I got home and opened the bag I was faced with the plainest looking dish and I thought they forgot to put the yogurt and chutneys to the bag so I drove back just to be told that they are already mixed with the dish. Unfortunately I couldn't tell any trace of either one and ended up trashing the dry dish. I don't understand these great reviews, mine was disappointment. Mr. Amrit: Yesterday we ordered for lamb shanks however all we got was three puny looking chops with very little of meat for $23. It was enough for only one person. Similarly, chicken vindaloo was filled with potatoes and a scattering of chicken pieces. I hope you be liberal with the quanties. I understand this is typical of Indian retaurants to short change customers after they get established. Hope you are different. If necessary charge more but do not give small quantities or add too many potatoes. I was told that the cost of lamb is steep. I know the cost therefore such excuses are lame. read more

Royale Curry is our new favorite Indian restaurant! Food was excellent. We asked for mild, and it was mild. Chicken was fresh and tender. Naan was perfect. I appreciated having a big glass of ice water, rather than just the bottle of water that I've been given elsewhere. Decor and atmosphere are great. Music was pleasant: Indian flute music. (Much better than Bollywood videos, for us.) And service was friendly. Very impressed with this restaurant, the food was totally delicious, and portions were decent, if not generous. We ordered take out and it was all neatly packaged when they handed it to me. The level of heat which was delivered from our meal, Chicken Madras and Chicken Biryani, were inline with expectations for medium hot. I was very happy with the service, and found that the two gentlemen I spoke with while waiting for our order were very polite and friendly. Since we didn't eat in the restaurant I will mention that it looks clean, well maintained and there seemed to be sufficient seating to accommodate larger parties. This place is so dang good. I've been eating and cooking Indian food for probably 45 years and this place finally did Lamb Rogan Josh like the first time I tried it 20 years ago. Other places I have tried since then have done a basic tomato sauce with no cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, or ginger. The butter chicken, govi Manchurian, palak panner and garlic naan, and lamb samosas are also really good. And the "Mild +" level of heat was great. I alternate between Medium and Mild and sometimes the Medium is too hot. But then the Mild will be like water. Here, Mild+ is perfect. My only critique would be that the rice is slightly undercooked, so that's why I did 4 stars instead of 5. So, technically, their dishes are 5 star to me. I won't go anywhere else now. read more
