    Chicken Karachi
    Shanelle Y.

I've been to Kababish multiple times over the past few years. The space is nicely decorated and I enjoy the brightly colored walls. There are a few different dishes I've tried, and my current favorite and go-to dish is the chicken Karachi, which comes with your choice of meat cooked in a spicy, tomato based curry with bell peppers and ginger. The dish has been delicious every time I've gotten it. I've tried a few of their kabobs before, and I've found them to be quite dry so I tend to avoid ordering those. The previous times I've dined here, the service was fine. However, this time was a completely different experience service-wise. When we entered the restaurant, we were told to pick table. Eventually, a young man (could not figure out if he was a waiter or not) placed a small card on the table and walked away. He didn't introduce himself, take our drink orders, or provide menus. Turns out the small card was a link to their online menu - it would have been nice if he had told us this. He did not come back to check on us at all, in fact the (owner?) eventually came over to take our drink and food orders. Throughout the meal a few other patrons entered. One couple sat down, but no one came to take their order or provide menus/drinks. After about 15 minutes they got up and left. Ouch. The meal itself as I mentioned was good, and the times I have come in the past the service has been better, so I feel like on a good day this restaurant deserves at least 4 stars, but with everything I experienced tonight I am concerned for the future of this business.

I do love Kababish! I have been ordering from here for years and I have seen the place grow and improve. Their food has always been fantastic which is what kept me coming back. Fair warning, though, as with all good Indian places: don't say hot unless you mean it and don't say Indian hot unless you have mastered hot!! I did hot once-once- and was sweating as I ate my chicken tikka. It was glorious, but then that's me, apparently. I *did* go back down to medium after that. I'm just not ready for the big leagues The decor of the place has really become wonderful and they have outside seating which is nicely lit and would be a nice place to be in 10 of the 12 months in NC. Also every time I have been here the place has been spotless. If you are craving some lovely food and looking for a nice, tucked away spot you should swing by.

    Malai chicken

Went to the restaurant and ordered food to take home. We ordered entrees with chicken, tandoori platter, Malai (only 1 skew was In the box) and a butter chicken. Hummus and onion pakora. The hummus was really really runny. The three chicken entrees were all so dry. The butter chicken sauce was flavourless runny and the chicken was dry somehow. The chicken tandoori platter was dry, the Malai was dry. The onion pakora was good. The butter naan was really good. We spent a lot of money and it was really disappointing.

This is one of my most favorite spot in Cary for Indian/Pakistani cuisine... I have been here multiple times and this place never disappoints! This is my go to place for authentic Nihari, we went there specially for Nihari but also ended up trying some different items off the menu. My first time trying Chaat Papdi here and it reminded me of home (India) ...i have say, the chaat was too good...freshly made... crispy and tangy..absolutely loved it Their Chicken 65 was a hit and an item highly recommended by my 6 year old! We also tried their Chicken Karahi, perfectly spiced and flavorful.. The owners are very sweet and friendly... love the decor and ambience. This place truly never disappoints! If you're looking for authentic Indian/Pakistani food, you have to try this place!!!

Kababish is a wonderful place if you are craving Pakistani food. I got the Nihari which was full of flavor. Think of it as a Pakistani beef stew. Wasn't quite spicy enough, but that was my fault because I order it mild. Next time I would get it medium. Please support this local business and give this restaurant a try!

Decided to venture out on a nice night and check out Kababish Cafe due to a recommendation from a foodie ... and so happy that I did . The family run business is inviting and friendly and food is pretty good ! My intent was to come here for some kabobs but instead tried their Paya ... if you never had Paya this might not be for you .. it's basically hooves and trotters usually made from goat or cows, depending on which country the owners of the restaurant are from... KBs choice of protein was goat... which isn't bad but it has more of a barnyardy taste to it vs the cow version which I'm used to. This version is also more soupy and not as gelatinous as the cow version which isnt bad ... but like my birria tacos .. I want the consume/broth to coat and stick to whatever I dip in it, which in this case was garlic naan. . I also ordered the chicken 65 which is almost like a crispy tandoori like chicken which was very tasty and yummmy ... Definitely going to have to return and check out their other dishes

I love the name, and we finally got to have lunch here yesterday. The menu is extensive, but we ordered kababs, of course! My Chicken Seekh platter had two large kababs of well-spiced ground chicken. My friend got the shrimp kabob platter, and both had lots of basmati with fresh, lightly-dressed salads. They have three spice levels--mild, medium and spicy. We like some spice, and our server assured us that their spice levels were "American hot," not "Indian hot," which is a whole different thing! Since Kababish is on a corner in downtown Cary, we wondered if there would be parking, but we found plenty in the back of the building. The restaurant was clean (bathrooms, too!), and no other customers were there, so we chose to eat inside. Masks are required, and all staff wore them, too. They have a covered area for outdoor dining, but it was a bit cold for that.

    Chicken Biryani

Big portions, but my dish, chicken biryani, was also like $19. It was really good though. I tried chicken tikki masala and that slapped too. Unless you're into chugging water or have really high spice tolerance (mine is already pretty high) mild spice is spicy enough for a casual meal.

Nice little spot for authentic Indian food! The inside was pretty busy which was probably why our food took awhile to come out. We sat outside since they have a good sized tent with heaters. They have a large menu so come hungry and share! The naan was delish and the biryani had some good spice/heat.

Beware of the high yelp rating!…read more We were starving and excited to try this place after a couple hour hike at Umstead yesterday. We LOVE northern Indian and Nepalese food and were lured by the high yelp rating. I'll start with the good. The server was kind and efficient. The chili chicken momo were delicious. The rice and garlic naan were average to good as well. However, our butter chicken and our chicken korma tasted like nothing. It was very strange. There was texture and you could kind of taste the chicken itself but the sauces tasted like nothing. You could almost only tell the two apart based on color and texture. We ordered one of them medium spice and one mild. Even the medium spiced dish had zero flavor. I kind of thought to myself that something was off when the colors looked bright but we couldn't taste a thing. I kept thinking maybe the flavor or heat will build. It never did. Nevertheless we ate everything bc we were starving, but we were definitely disappointed in the lack of flavor. Not long after we left, our stomachs were kind of on edge but we figured this was simply from eating too much. This morning we both woke up ILL. Even though we discussed coming back for the chili momo only in the future, we have since changed our tune. I love locally-owned businesses and hate to leave a bad review but we truly did not have a 4+ star experience here. We won't be back.
