Hmmm we came here after getting off the plane. We love afghan food as we used to live in Los Angeles where I started my career in Yelp :). Anyway we walked in, and yup it's a hole in the wall. We ordered the yogurt, naan, bolanee, and mixed grill which came with chickpeas and rice with chicken and beef. The bolanee came out first. Different from what I expected as we used to eat it at the farmers market and buy to bring home. It was good. The sauce that comes with is sorta spicy so I had to dip the bolanee in the yogurt so I tempered my delicate taste buds. We then got the naan. The naan was ok. Not the best I've had. Decent. We then got our meal. The rice was not the hero as it was good not great. The chicken was good and the beef was good. I was I guess expecting more out of the rice. Chickpeas was excellent! We then got Talia which again was expecting different than what we got but it was delicious either way. Overall 4.7 so I'd come back.

The rice was a bit dry and the meat was well done whereas I would have preferred it to be medium rare. The service was very friendly though and the inside was kept clean. Worth a try for this curious. Plenty of parking outside too.

Very cool kind of Hipster and Ethnic served Afghan dishes make this an adventurist destination that was a find. Very flavorful ethnic food that you just don't come across often. You order your food and it takes a bit but not too long to get it because they're cooking it up fresh when you order. It is worth the wait though once you get your food. A lot of very eclectic dishes that you just want to try everything. Whatever you order here you can't go wrong if you want something you just can't find every day.q

Yummy (halal) food. Even though it was super busy, but food came pretty quickly. Loved the Chapli Kabab.. It wasn't that spicy nor was it burnt. Ambiance was also good, however they may have to work on decor as that was the only thing missing. Would definitely repeat as even the chai-to-go was also really great! #Thumbsup

Came here on opening day for dinner. The food was delicious! Our favorites were the mantu and bolanee. Bolanee was crispy and savory, and the mint chutney to dip it in was very aromatic. Mantu was so savory but still light. It was a great appetizer to the main dish. Mixed grill had a little bit of every type of kabob they had. It was tender and juicy. We also got the Firni and chai, which were both a great way to end the meal. Service was great. Wait time wasn't too bad; especially knowing everything was cooked fresh to order. I'm so excited Afghan Kebab opened up! Can't wait to try all the dishes. We will definitely be back.

Came here for lunch. Cozy and clean restaurant with comfortable seats. Variety of meats like beef, chicken, lamb and goat. Chicken kabob was tender and full of flavor. Chickpeas and rice were filling as the side. Pudding was sweet with nice texture. Will definitely be back!

My boyfriend has been searching for this dish since his tour in Afghanistan. It was amazing!!! Friendly and clean. Wish it was closer but worth the drive.

Afghan kebab is a new restaurant in the Cary area. It is a small hole in the wall restaurant, but the owner and managers were incredibly hospitable. We were made to feel at home. They serve complementary delicious Afghan green tea. We ordered different kebab platters, but by far the best dish was the goat Karahi! It comes, served in a simmering wok with fresh Afghan naan bread. I highly recommend having a side of Afghan rice with it (topped with sautéed carrots, onions, and raisins). The aroma, herbs, texture, flavors of the karahi are truly out truly of this world. we felt like we were eating in historic Afghanistan honestly. Will definitely be recommending this restaurant to loved ones and we will be back again soon.

We moved here from northern virginia and have been trying to find the most authentic kabob similar to back home, and this absolutely exceeded my expectations!! The chicken Karahi and chicken kebab were solid 10's and I'm a super picky eater. My heart and stomach are so happy! And they are SO NICE which makes it even better!

Lamb chops & goat Karahi were the family favorites. I also loved the salad. Rice could have more flavor tbh, the green sauce that comes with the food really takes it up a notch.

14 - CHAPLI KEBAB and 9 - GOAT KARAHI

We decided to eat here for Eid-Al-Adha and ordered Mutton Karahi and Chapli kebabs and both items were amazing! Even the channa that came with the kebab were delicious. I've not eaten food as fresh and delicious as this place so far! We also tried their falooda and it was the best one we've had. Also, their service was excellent! We're definitely going back any chance we get!!

Mislabeled item. We ordered goat karahi. Instead of goat it was lamb. My family is not a fan of lamb. I suggest labeling the menu properly.

I stopped by on a Sunday night and it was very quiet, only one other couple dining in. We were…read moreseated right away and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The space could use some cosmetic updates, but everything was clean and the food was clearly made fresh, which mattered more to me. What we ordered:* Super Mix Grill* Falafel appetizer* Kunefe* Baklava The mix grill was the standout. The meats were tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The flavors were a little different from the Turkish food I'm used to from friends' family cooking, but still very enjoyable. The salad that came with the meal was okay, but not my favorite. Desserts were excellent, both the kunefe and baklava were absolutely worth ordering and a great way to end the meal. My husband said the desserts were a little sweet but they are supposed to be so I ignored him but be prepared for that. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would definitely give it another try. This feels like a good spot for a low-key, no-wait dinner when you're craving Turkish food.

I finally got to try this place with my family. It was a very busy evening, but they gave us a…read morereally nice seating area to sit. Service was fast. Ambience was a family atmosphere and of course the food was really good. I ordered a platter with different kind of dips and pita bread which is of course seems like as if it was made in house because it was soft and delicious. My family ordered chicken Shawarma and two lamb platters, which was equally delicious. In my opinion. The platters came with a lot of bulgar wheat and cabbage salad, which was nice to balance the protein. On our way out we tried the dates and I have never eaten those kind of delicious dates ever before. Place do offer the buffet in the evening. All in all, it was a great place to sit and enjoy with delicious food.
