Newly updated menu, very reasonable prices. Dosa is incredible! Friendly service with great recommendations

Boneless Chicken Biryani
Jessica G.

Ate here late at night with a couple of friends. The interior is clean, laid back, and relaxed. Staff were very nice - came back to check on us, take our orders, refill water many times. It didn't ever feel like we were forgotten or interrupted too many times, which can be a difficult balance to achieve but they nailed it. They were kind and courteous and their attitude was welcoming and comforting. I got the boneless chicken biryani which was amazing. It was a lot of food (had enough for 2 leftover meals after) and came out hot. You can also alter the spice level to your taste. Great place, will be back!

chef special veg dosa

i came here with a friend when it was pouring out, and we arrived as soon as it opened, so it was pretty empty. the ambiance is nice inside, especially the bar area. i didn't order any drinks but i got the impression that that is really where they want customers to focus. i ordered the chef's special veg dosa, which the waiter told me was every type of dosa combined into one (onion rava mysore masala cheese dosa, basically). i decided to give it a try - i like trying "chef's specials" because i figure they're always what the chef is most proud of. this, however, was not really that special or even great. the dosa came pre-cut and each piece had only one of the promised iterations (one piece had cheese, one masala, one mysore masala, etc.). only some of the pieces had everything, and none of them was particularly special. it wasn't bad at all, but i've had much better dosa elsewhere - this was just okay. the sambhar was very good but that was about it. i might try it out again for a drink but if just for food, i wouldn't return to mirchi's.

I went there tonight after a very stressful week of...life. Sam was our server and he was a great blend of helpful, attentive and friendly. We friend both had a drink from the bar, and they were both wonderful! (And much needed). The bar tender was very good and also very friendly. My friend and I had the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Tikka Masala as well as the garlic basil naan. Everything was outstanding! We will definitely be back and look forward to expanding our palates!

Yummy! Is the first word that comes to my head whenever I think if Mirchi's. It is my new favorite place for Indian food. The flavor and wholeness of the curries is always spot on and chicken and lamb are always soft, tender and cooked for perfection. The ambience is casual but elegant and the service is always impressive. I am already looking forward to the next time I get to visit Mirchi's!

the interior of the restaurant

Nice atmosphere and intimate restaurant but the food was subpar and quantities did not match price. Ordered the paneer tikka and fried fish for appetizers. Prices were standard for the RTP area but portions were very small and the fish was suppose to be battered yet most of it was just the fleshy parts. Ordered the malai kofta and chicken tikka masala. I'm almost certain I received butter chicken but the two dishes are done so similarly at restaurants despite there being a difference. It was much too creamy and tasted like butter chicken I've had but even then it was not great. Almost forgot to mention that half my dish was peppers and onions. Where the f was my chicken? Would not recommend to anyone unless you enjoy being ripped off. The only redeeming dish was the malai kofta. Edit: looking at others photo of the butter chicken, it looks exactly like my dish. Smh

Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Garlic Nan
Raul V.

Food was outstanding. The one thing that really surprised me: the chicken on both dishes was really juicy. We'll cooked. NOT DRIED. I hope I made the point. Best Chicken I've had at an Indian restaurant! Nan was prepared when ordered so it was hot (as in very warm). That was excellent too. Definitely in my "To go back" list.

Tandoori chicken

We just learned that "mirchi" means "spicy!" They have a beautiful patio, with very nice furniture, but we chose to eat in for lunch yesterday. The service was efficient and friendly, and I loved my kadai paneer. Be careful, though. The menu doesn't have a "pepper" by the entree (a pepper means it's spicy!), but it definitely had a kick to it. If you don't like a lot of spice, you should ask before you order anything. My friend got the tandoori chicken. It was also spicy (and there was a pepper on the menu)! Masks are no longer required, but the entire staff was wearing them. They let us choose whether we wanted to wear ours. Ravi, one of the co-owners, came out to talk with us and told us they've only been open about three weeks and are still in their soft opening. He was quite proud of the place, and he should be! The decor is gorgeous, and even the place settings are a cut above what we usually see when dining out. He also told us that the owners and chef are very specific about the quality of spices and other ingredients they're using. They're still waiting on their liquor license, so the small bar is empty, for now. They plan to have a grand opening soon, and I'm sure it will be amazing!

Garlic basil bread, butter chicken, mirapakaya

If you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out! My husband and I have traveled internationally and throughout the states and we can say this is the best Indian food we've ever had. The atmosphere was friendly, trendy, and sophisticated. Our server, Rahm, made us feel right at home and when I told him I wanted some delicious spicy chicken he knew exactly what to order for me. They had a variety of Asian, Middle East, and Indian cuisine options and a plentiful amount of vegan options. We split the samosa chaat and my husband said it was his favorite part of the meal. He had the butter chicken and I had mirapakaya. The chicken was melt-in-your-mouth tender. If you've made it this far in my review, don't overlook this place! It's by far the best dining experience we have had in a long time. Thanks for the great night and we will definitely be back.

Chicken Biriyani
Aradhya S.

Chicken Biryani (to-go) Review - Quite flavorful and not lumpy like I've had in other restaurants. The flavor was NOT overpowering and NOT loaded with red chilly powder. The generosity of masala on rice could definitely be improved; nonetheless, it was not bland at any point. I enjoyed the flavors and despite my low spice appetite, I didn't find the biryani very spicy. The portion was relatively small. After eating this for dinner, I found myself still poking around the refrigerator for another snack :) I ordered it directly on their website and it was ready exactly at the committed time.

Spacious, laid-back, and ideal for lingering over cocktails way longer than originally planned. Cary keeps getting cooler, and this place is a big reason why.

Every opening act was hilarious, and the main show kept the energy high the entire time. The service was just as solid. Food and drinks came out quickly, and the staff stayed on top of everything without ever feeling rushed. Raleigh Improv is hands-down one of the best comedy venues in the area. You don't feel squeezed in or packed like sardines. There's plenty of room to walk around, the seating feels comfortable, and the overall layout makes it easy to enjoy the show without bumping elbows with strangers. Even the bathrooms impressed me -- large, clean, and well-maintained, which is not something every venue can say. Quick tip: Go to the first show of the night. It saves you from waiting outside in a long line while the earlier crowd exits. Such a great experience. I'll definitely be back for more shows!

When we arrived for our 9:30 show, there were tons of parking spots available which was really nice not to have to keep circling the lot like we do for Goodnights. We also had a separate VIP line outside. It was very organized. The only difference between the two comedy clubs when it comes to seating is that your seats are not reserved specifically to your name and an employee points to which seats you will go to. We had awesome seats being that we were third in line! Middle table, on the end, perfect view. Quite a few people were uncomfortable being right on the stage and looking up, so they requested to move back. I did noticed this club can easily have bad seats being in the way back or off to the sides with obstructed viewing. The only way to be guaranteed great seats is to buy VIP and be one of the first people in line. Ordering is super easy and done with a QR code so you don't have to bother anyone around you to get service. The beer was nice and cold but I will say I don't recommend the guacamole and chips...it has corn and beans in it and it just tasted off. The staff are all amazing here, respectful, kind, and quick. They even pick up your dishes throughout the show. It can be a bit disruptive being at the end table but it's not to the point where it's annoying. I appreciate clean tables! Our show was hilarious and they allowed people to meet TJ Miller afterwards as long as you bought his hot sauce. We didn't line up for this, husband was unfortunately not interested (and to be fair, we do own over 20 bottles of hot sauce right now). Acoustics weren't super, audio definitely needs some fine tuning or an upgrade. Overall, I definitely prefer Improv to its predecessor and hope to come back again!

We started with the cinnamon bun, which was housemade brioche with a vanilla sugar glaze, and honestly it could have been the whole meal. It was that good. We ordered around the table, egg scramble bowl, huevos rancheros, chicken burrito. All of it was solid. The huevos rancheros especially. Salsa roja, chorizo, queso fresco, avocado. Fresh-squeezed OJ and cava in the mimosas didn't hurt either. The food was great. Tori made it memorable. Our server, Victoria (prefers Tori) was just one of those people. She knew when to come by and when to leave us alone, which sounds simple but most people can't do it. Not performative warmth, just actual warmth. She was on top of everything without making us feel managed. We talked about her afterwards. Tori made the occasion. Thank you Tazza Kitchen Stone Creek Village at 600 Ledgestone Way, Cary NC!

And while we were waiting for 5 minutes for our table we were given a slice of pizza to taste, which was an amazing gesture and the pizza was so good, think crust, cheesy but light. We ordered beer and a mocktail for drinks and I loved my mocktail, it was refreshing. For appetisers we ordered their cast iron goat cheese that came with their buttery sour dough bread chunks, the dip was a little too sour for my taste but it was compensated by the flavour full goat cheese. We also ordered their kale and chillies salad for the table and loved it. Highly recommended. For our main course we ordered their Harrisa bowl with crab cake and the Brick oven salmon. The crab cake was on of the best I have ever had. Next time I am definitely ordering their full crab cake order with fries. Every item in the bowl was complementing each other perfectly. The lightly sauted vegetable with a dash of honey tasted great with the tangy white taziki and cucumber sauce and the pearl couscous. I am definitely trying the other bowls next time I am there. The salmon was perfectly cooked and tender. The fried rice, sauted vegetables and the whipped goat cheese tasted so good together. For dessert we ordered their flourless chocolate cake and it was a little dry but very guey and chewy, loved the taste though! Our server was extremely sweet and so considerate of our choices and gave us substitutes and also packed some extra bread togo. So happy and content with food service and the overall ambiance of this restaurant. It gives a fancy vibe but is also very reasonable. Definitely going there again soon!!

Going with bits of Indian, Italian, and Mexican cuisine with bar standbys like burgers and salads, there's something for about every taste preference. Casual but nicely decorated inside and service with a bit of a personal note to it, I had a good lunch visit here. The Deets: I went for a walk down Hatcher Creek Greenway and decided to duck into Morrisville Square for a bite to eat for lunch. I had seen Sips N Spices on my Yelp radar for the neighborhood so chose them for some eats. With the outside signs displaying "Grill, Taco, Pizza & Bar" it sounded like they had quite the variety. That variety shows through upon entering in, with the atmosphere and menu. The feel on the inside is cool and eclectic both, very relaxing and very casual but clean and well decorated (see pics). As far as the menu, they have a fusion of Indian, Italian, and Mexican going on but also burgers and salads if you are looking for more bar-like cuisine. They really do have a little bit of everything, even hookah and a full bar. The atmosphere was chill and relax with friends kind of vibe to me. In looking at all the possibilities on the wide variety offered on the menu, I went a bit out of my comfort zone in ordering the Butter Chicken Pasta dish (without the optional green chili). Note to tea drinkers, they only offer sweet tea I found when I tried to order unsweetened tea but I was good with a Diet Coke instead. The Butter Chicken Pasta was a perfect lunch portion served as a bowl. Even without the green chili option, it still had a bit of spice to it but enough to make it flavorful without being overwhelming (as you know, I'm not one for overly spicy foods). Even with the dish having more spice than expected (he said he would place the order in as mild), I enjoyed my lunch here as this pasta dish was anything but boring and lackluster, again flavorful comes to mind. I also liked that Nick here at Sip N Spices took the time to ask me how I knew about them and what brought me in, as well as him sharing that the dishes are inspired by his grandmother's recipes. Personal customer service is always a positive in my book and it was shown here. I look forward to trying other menu selections here, especially if I have an urge for a burger in the future. A good first visit here!
