I am completely enamored with my stylist, Shamika, who is the divine combination of hair genius, gorgeous tall model, and wicked funny honest. She has big dreams and I have full confidence that she will nail them all. Her hands are magic on my hair, which in its natural state is grey, heavy, flat and boring. Before my head gave up on making brown hair, Shamika colored it with amazing expertise: blond, brown, caramel, you name it. Once I went fully grey and silver, she encouraged me to embrace that natural beauty. I'm so glad I listened. Her cuts are equally brilliant. She's taken me super short, she's twirled me into shoulder length sexy waves, and she's currently got me in an a-line bob for summer. No matter what, I leave looking good and feeling empowered. Thairapy clients are welcomed by Alexis, who is charming and adept at keeping everyone happy. They offer beverages and snacks bits from a bakery just across the parking lot, and plenty of stylish and comfy seating if you arrive early. While I truly adore Shamika (also known as Mimi) the talent in this salon is all top notch. When I needed an urgent cut on a fully booked Shamika day, she referred a colleague named Danielle who snipped my messy strands into a perfect chic bob. Worst salon. Definitely do not recommend, I called and tried to cancel my lash appointment but later received a text cancellation notice sent to phone without being advised of this fee and later I tried calling in and the owner was rude and said I had to pay this fee. Not once was I told of any cancellation fee nor is it anywhere on their site. Plus the prices they have are expensive for basic or below basic services they offer. Melissa the owner answered my message within an hour. She was able to get me in for a color, cut and style within two days. Alanah my stylist was very good! She had to math my gray roots to my existing color (different brand too). Everyone was very friendly. The salon was clean. Shampoo chairs and ottomans.. amazing and comfortable. I highly recommend (coming from an industry expert... me, my sister and my dad all have been in the beauty industry so I know good from bad). No picture to share.... Place is cute. Other than masks, no other covid measures taken. Made an appointment for my mother in law for a wash and set. My mistake, did it through yelp and didn't verbally clarify they knew what that was. Got a nice wash but a blow out, not a set with heat. MIL had to ask her to use heat. Style was flat and had no volume. I walked over and showed stylist a picture to help her understand the desired volume. Still walked out with flat hair that wasn't set. I felt like they filled an empty appointment slot and just assumed the stylist knew how to wash and set because she did it in school. read more

I waited a month for an appointment with the owner. Witch I thought was a good choice after reading, and seeing the beautiful pictures on the website. I showed her a picture from her site ( the owner ) and then preceded to explain that I was in the hospital the month before. Induced coma, on 4 different heavy medications. For 4 days. She seemed preoccupied. That should of been my first clue. She decides to put bleach directly on my hair. I said humm, no foils wow! Put me under the dryer. Within 15 minutes my scalp was burning. I looked around to find her. ( the owner ) she was doing another client. So I told another worker, and she raised the heat further from my head, and said she would tell her. I waited. The longer I waited my head felt like it was on fire. I got up and approached her. (The owner ) she instantly said oh that's not good! Got me to the sink and asked another worker to wash me out. I was at the sink for awhile. Finally (the owner comes back and said she is going to have someone put a toner on me. As my head lay in the sink, she ( the owner ) is doing another client. Needless to say the owner was over booked, because she was leaving the next day for a month. I had a 10AM appointment didn't get out of there still 1:30, with shoulder length hair. When I walked in my hair length was passed my bra. Yes I did ask for a haircut, but wow! Overall my experience with this salon was NOT what I was expecting 300.00 later. Needless to say I called back, they had me go in for a hair mask with her assistant, which was very sweet, didn't fix the problem. But it wasn't the assistants fault! Needless to say the OWNER couldn't handle her day, and I need to go elsewhere to get it fixed. If I could I would give her ( THE OWNER ) a minis 0!!! read more

I don't usually write reviews but I had to for this one. I had horrible experience here. I made an appointment with Melissa after reading good reviews. I showed her couple pics of what I wanted. I wanted overall ash and blonde highlights and I asked her if she understood what I wanted and she said yes. She quoted me $290 crazy for shoulder length hair. She said that includes the roots two shade colors and a cut. I said ok as long as i get what I want. As soon as she started drying my hair it was multiple colors and my roots were still the same. I asked her why my roots are still black she said she didn't color it because it will blend in. I was like I told you I need allover ash and highlights. I got nothing what I asked for. She said she will send the new girl to do my roots. I was skeptical because she left while coloring my hair to help her with another client. I agreed had no choice the girl came and said it will be xtra to do the roots. Are you serious more than $290!? I asked for a trim and volume she didn't even trim my hair properly and didn't give me volume. I asked the girl i'm done she said yes. I asked for curls but Melissa left and left color on my face. I decided to pay and walkout. I was very disappointed. She knew I didn't like the color and didn't even asked to fix it. I'm leaving on a trip this week and I told her my schedule is full till I leave. Now I have been calling places to fix my hair. I need my money back. My hair is a total mess i hate it. I was so excited for this trip now because of my hair it's stressing me out. My roots are black, I don't see any ash color the blonde is neither blonde nor nice caramel color looks burned up. I would have expected a VIP treatment for that price and exactly what I wanted. She left twice while coloring my hair to help the new girl working with another client but I didn't mind that but she left me with the same girl. Owner is total scam she spent less than an hour on my hair and said it will take about 3hrs to do everything. She should have taken responsibility for her work and fixed my hair she looked at me confused like I was talking gibberish. read more

I just got my hair done today, and I first just wanted to say how much I LOVE my HAIR. Olivia did an awesome job and was super nice and sweet and even gave me a military discount. BUT, after I left and got in my car I realized that she left a BUNCH of hair dye still on my face. I didn't even notice til I got to my car because it's on the sides of my face and how she styled my hair I couldn't see it until I in front of a mirror and played with my hair. I've dyed my hair at home and haven't even gotten that much dye on my face. And for her to see it and then not even do anything about it and to let me walk out in public like that is hilarious. read more

Let me just start by saying I have extremely fragile hair and so I've heat my hair a dark solid color for years but was dying to lighten it up some but to be honest I was terrified as the last time I did this somewhere else I ended up having to cut my hair off due to damage. Clean and friendly salon, with a quick online response time. I think if you're looking to have blonde or gold-toned highlights, you will be pleased here, from what I witnessed. As a brunette with an unmitigated hatred for orange or brassy tones, which I was lucky enough to avoid with my former stylist for nearly a decade, I was unhappy with the results & faced the eternal hair conundrum: Do I complain & risk an offer to "fix" it or just leave & make the day trip to see my former stylist in a week or two? I think both the owner and stylist would have offered to try to "fix" my hair, as I got the distinct impression that they care about the business and want satisfied customers, which made my decision to leave without complaining easy for me, because I can't really explain what I wanted any clearer, and the distance between that and what I got was too vast to bridge. So I made the day trip appointment from my car, and am grateful for the reminder that I was truly spoiled in our former town. I know that my color pattern is abnormal, and that is part of the issue I experienced. But, despite my particular experience, I can still comfortably recommend Thairapy if you're looking for (the more typical) highlights or light colors.
