N1. Pad Thai with Chicken and Shrimp
    Tamica J.

I've been coming here for a few years. However due to their new counter employee, I probably will not be back. Last week when I went, I asked for siracha sauce, he gave me chili paste and I didn't know until I got home. This week I ordered the same thing: Pad Thai with no peanuts, extra beansprouts, with chili Ken and shrimp. I asked very politely if I could please have a small condiment cup for my siracha, explaining I didn't get it last week. He said no he had to do it. He then fills the cup, and takes it in the back behind their black curtain. Why? The tops are right up front in view. He then slides it (almost tosses it) to me across the counter. I wasn't getting a good feeling from him with his nasty acting attitude and all. I advised him that I wasn't trying to be funny, but could he please hand me a condiment cup and I would get it myself. He scoffed and mumbled under his breath. Anywho...I won't be going back. We have a voice and choices. Not sure what happened to the young lady they had, but she was the BEST! So, if you come here, brace yourself for MR PERSONALITY.

The Food is mediocre. The portions are small. They charge for absolutely everything. The cook is rude and condescending and racist. We will not be back. We ask for extra sauce and was charged $3.00 for it- see the picture below for the amount of sauce that they gave us. One spring roll a thin skinny spring roll is $2.25 it was tasteless. The crab ragoons had little and some no filling in them. It was fried dough. Avoid this place.

Order pad thai food was expensive 40 dollars for two crab Rangoon is hard and dry. Pad thai missing nuts and lemon. I called and the smart mouth carry out guy would not write my name down for a replacement. It's raining I got all the way home and I didn't want to drive back. I paid for food that's not properly cooked and it can't be remade!

3 stars is appropriate for Thai Xpress. There's nothing spectacular or outstanding about the interior or the food. If you're looking for a quick lunch spot while you're at work, this is the place. There's usually something small that throws me off: -If you order any of their dishes with spice, for example with medium, they will always ask you "just so you know, our medium is kind of hot. Is that ok?". To which I wonder, every time, why is your medium, hot, and not medium? -Lunch portion sizes are bit smaller than most places I've been to -Occasionally, not enough sauce in my curry dishes

I love this place. I discovered this place years ago. My go-to dish here is the Chicken Pad Thai. It's always delicious. Also, decent sized portions and it's reasonably priced. A great place to come for lunch service is pretty quick.

I had carry out chicken pad thai medium and it was hotter than hot at most establishments, trying the flavor. Chicken Satay had a good sauce, but was dry on the skewers. I was somewhat disappointed. I had been there before and ate in with a guest and it was much better. ALSO, food did not get distributed in the order that orders were placed. Odd as we had pad thai and they had fried rice....

Quick order Thai and there's nothing wrong with that. It gets busy at lunch and they don't have a huge seating area. Most folks seem to get their meals to go. My lunch order was a Gang Ga Ree with chicken, which is a yellow curry with potatoes and noodles, plus a big scoop of white rice. Medium is still kind of hot so the rice was helpful to cool it down. Quite tasty and a good portion. I also got their "fresh rolls" which I've seen elsewhere named "summer rolls." They're spring rolls, only, they're not fried. Filled with lettuce and cucumber and sliced pork and shrimp. These were quite good but the lettuce wasn't shredded small enough and it made for a bit of a mess when dipping in the peanut sauce. Other than the big lettuce, lunch was great! I'm a fan.

I also LOVED the noodles; they had the best texture and length in the Metro-Detroit area. When it comes to service, there's definitely a "hands-off" approach, as you order via a QR code and a machine brings your dishes to you. However, I was personally a fan of that, and we were still checked on by workers from time to time. Food came fast and I absolutely loved the vibes and interior of the restaurant. Great place and experience overall!

Total plot twist. The place was pretty quiet with only a few diners, so service was steady, though a little slow at times. We ordered the veggie noodles, cucumber salad, lamb skewers, xianbing pancake, and juicy pork dumplings. Overall, the food was decent and comfortably average, but honestly, we were just excited to finally find a Szechuan-style Chinese restaurant nearby. The veggie noodles were the clear winner of the night: chewy, flavorful, and coated in a sauce that had us going back for bite after bite. I could've done without the bok choy, though, and I wish the noodles had been a little less oily. The cucumber salad leaned much sweeter than we expected and was swimming in a bit too much soy sauce for our taste. The pork dumplings were nice and juicy inside, but the wrappers were slightly too doughy. Now the lamb skewers? Absolutely delicious. Great flavor, good portion size, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The biggest disappointment, unfortunately, was the xianbing pancake. It didn't feel authentic at all. The crepe was way too thick, and the crispy crackers inside had lost all crunch and turned soggy instead. Still, the cozy vibe, solid noodles, and tasty skewers made it a worthwhile visit, especially if you're craving Szechuan flavors around Madison Heights.

The restaurant interior is much larger than expected; clean and fresh-smelling too. Booth and table / chair seating options are available. On this late morning weekday, shortly after it opened, the restaurant was quiet and uncrowded. Conducive to conversation over lunch. The menu, in both Vietnamese and English was detailed and descriptive. Our young server answered questions, offered excellent recommendations, helped instruct us about using the side plate of fresh beansprouts with one's pho entree. Thanks! My Phô Dǎe Biêt - a LARGE, steamy soup bowl of rice noodles, broth, eye round steak, beef, meatball, and a bit of tripe and tendon was divine. I added the beansprouts with fresh basil leaves for a nice texture and flavor variant. It was filling, and there was enough left to take home too! The Cha Giô Spring Rolls (x 2) came out hot and crispy fried. The accompanied Vietnamese garlic dipping sauce was absolutely delicious. I ordered a Vietnamese Coffee. It came sweetened with condensed milk, and served over ice. A nice finish to the meal, kind of like dessert!
