So happy I found this place. I had a really great experience during my visit. I was in so much pain from day to day stress and doing a new workout. Let me tell you I left that place feeling like a new person. I am used to enjoying Thai massages--here in the US and in Thailand. When I lived in Los Angeles, I would typically treat myself to one at least once a month. You can imagine how over the moon I was to find this place in lil' Rhody. Thai massages are dry massages and involve a lot of gentle stretching and some acupressure. I typically leave energized and not sleepy. The massage quality is at par with what one would expect for this modality. I have no complaints here. The only setback is the service rate. This place, perhaps due to lack of competition, is pricey. This has prevented me from coming regularly. That said, if you've never had a Thai massage before and are curious about what makes it different--while not planning to visit Thailand soon, or any other state where there are more spas offering this service--then do visit Thai Tranquility Bodywork. Every part of the session--from the technique to the flow to the calming environment--was exceptional. You can tell there's deep expertise and intention behind the work here. Wow! Such an interesting experience. I've never had a Thai. massage before and was glad I found them on Yelp to give it a try. The building they are in has a large parking lot which was great. The confirmation email gave very clear instructions on how to find their studio, which was very helpful since the building is a bit of a maze. They gave me the outfit to change into, essentially a very loose fitting cotton shirt and sweatpants. Then my mausse got to work. It was quite the experience, and sometimes I found myself laughing at how inflexible I am. I liked the salve they used and my mausse really got in there. Overall it was more of a "hurt so good" experience vs relaxing, but I'm all about that when it comes to massages. I would definitely head on in again! read more

I'm a dancer and had some pretty tough knots in my legs, so she had her work cut out for her. I chose the 90 mins because of my extensive knots. Just got out of an insanely good Thai Bodywork session! I'm not new to Thai massages but this was my first bodywork massage, and I am hooked! It is a little hard to find the location at first, but once you're in the room, you are given comfortable scrub/pj type clothes to change into. I am a regular yogi and on my feet all day, teaching 7th grade, so my body is under a lot of tension and strength training. I feel like every kink was stretched and pulled of my muscles. Kullawan was professional, sweet, and very comforting. She was friendly and able to laugh when I couldn't get my body to just relax and let her work. I opted for a 60 minute session, with equal attention on all body areas. The hamstring, bicep/tricep, and shoulder/neck work was incredible and I can't believe I've been walking through life without it. This was my very first time doing Thai bodywork and I completely understand what all the hype is about now. This is the most relaxed and loose I've felt in a very long time. I went in thinking my neck/upper body were my focus spots, but it was pointed out that actually my hips, lower back and hamstrings were significantly tight in comparison. They target your entire body and you can ask for a focus area. You have to really let them take the reins and let your body relax so if you're not okay with people in your personal space then this may not be for you. They will stretch, bend and move your limbs, etc. but are very upfront in asking you to communicate if anything is uncomfortable or anything. I'll absolutely be coming back. read more

I really do not have the right words to describe this massage. It is definitely the best, most caring massage I have ever had. My practitioner was so caring and insightful. She identified the problem places on my body within 5 minutes. She gave me a deep and thorough massage. Go ahead and ask me about a place she didn't stretch and massage. Go ahead. Great work! She gave me some ideas on addressing the issues, including follow-up with my doctor and physical therapy. She even gave me stretching homework. I came here to get my first Thai bodywork massage. They put you in a dark cozy room, dimly lit, you change into comfy clothing they provide, and you lay down on the soft bed. Relaxing music plays (but you can hear voices outside in the lobby which can be slightly distracting). The lady who did my service was very thorough, kind, and really worked hard to get out my tension. While not as relaxing as a typical Swedish, this massage targets trigger points and it can be a little painful. For anyone new to it, know you are actively moving and participating in the massage through stretches and pulls. It feels good once you let yourself relax but can hurt if you have limited mobility and tense up like I do. I left feeling more fluid and loose in my joints. The neck rubbing was the best part because she used oil but wish she focused more on this area since I paid extra for it and was a little sad it was so short lol. I do prefer massages with oil as this usually allows the massage therapist to glide easier over my knots, so this part was my favorite. Again, this is a great massage and the staff is incredibly good at what they do. read more

My fiance booked this massage for my birthday and I was a bit skeptical. When I read it is a "fully clothed & stretching massage..." i was not a fan. However - this was the best massage I have had yet! The combination between the massage, deep tissue, and stretching.....I left there feeling like a noodle! So limber!!! He did book the 90min massage along with an additional 25min of neck/foot focus - at first I was worried but, by the end i said "it's already been 2hrs?" Jack did a fantastic job! I had a great experience with the owner. This massage was completely different from any massage I've ever had. It was more of a stretching session with applied pressure. Good place for Thai massage. When you walk in, you're provided a change of clothes or you can bring your own if you want to. The massage is done on the floor on top of a mat. Thai massage is different from other kinds of massage and involves pressure, stretching in various directions. Somewhat feels like passive yoga. The therapists here are quite good. Thai tranquility massage is done on a comfortable, large mat on the floor. A 60 minute massage will provide work on your hips (who knew hips could be tight and need work!), legs, shoulders, neck and back-sides. It covers a lot! Kullawan's in-depth experience and passion for her craft is obvious. She gets deep into the muscles and is able to coax out your tension and tightness. She understands how to position parts of your body for maximum effectiveness. It is not painful, but there is definitely pressure involved. You will come out feeling refreshed, and in much better shape than you came in. I am personally super tight in my shoulders and neck, and this left-side shoulder/neck tension I'd been feeling for weeks has gone away even just after one session! I highly recommend. read more

I love this place, the massage therapists are awesome and it's always a relaxing experience. Thai massage is different then a traditional western massage so be prepared for that. It always leaves me feeling like I just did 10 yoga classes and saw a chiropractor at the same time.
