I'm a loyal customer of this establishment. As other reviews have mentioned, the treatment area is not your typical "spa" environment. The treatment room is open and very simple and immaculate. I think there's only been one other time when another client has been there at the same time as me. The treatment I get is a one hour reflexology and body work package. I can tell you that I wish the reflexology could go on for hours. The feeling of well being I experience after I leave, and for days after, is unbelievable. I've gotten relief from a broken wrist, a shoulder injury and migraines. All relieved by treatment that I received here. The pressure is intense, yet soothing. I was NOT expecting this experience at all. All I knew was, my friend said she was treating me to a Foot Spa. Period. I was assuming/expecting a foot massage like they give you for pedicures, etc. Ok, I was wrong. However, I am 100% completely shocked and satisfied at the outcome! I'll tell you why in a few moments. This place is nothing fancy schmancy, no music, no pretty lights dancing to the beats of the music. I felt like I was in my parents living room with the TV on -- which was fine -- but be sure to expect the TV on. Now...the foot spa starts off with your feet in a bucket of soothing hot water while you lay back. They spray alcohol on your feet and they get to work! My friend had a female staff working and mine was male. Lots of poking, squeezing, some points were ticklish but I held it in. They work on your calves, arms, legs, back, neck, tail bone and it HURTS!!!!!. BUT SH*T! I woke up the next day feeling SO refreshed, energized, and brand F*ckin new! (btw: I didn't mention that I've been sick for the last two weeks -- sinus infection maybe? breathing problems, etc). I came to work and some coworkers noticed that I looked better and sounded better?!! & they didn't know I had this "Foot spa" aka reflexology done the night before. Unfortunately, I don't know how much it was b/c my Dear, generous friend treated me to a 90 minute session! BUT WOW, I feel SO much better after battling this sickness for a couple of weeks! If you read these reviews, you understand that reflexology is not like a Swedish massage. It's digging into pressure points and it will hurt. That being said, I'm in a world of pain right now but I feel nice and loose. The only major issue I had was that Michael and his partner were watching a very loud Chinese soap opera during my treatment which took away from my experience. They would both laugh at the soap opera and I definitely felt like he was on auto pilot with me. read more

I've been coming here for years. After having 10+ years of terrible back pain, they can quickly offer pain relief. They're reasonably priced and have flexible hours. Note: This is some REAL deep tissue work hitting all the right spots. If you have knots, you're gonna feel it, but it'll be worth it. Well, the price was right... But torture was what it felt like. I went for reflexology. Rather than feeling like it was a treat, I was happy once it was over. To be fair, it was sometime since I went (with the Groupon I purchased). I don't recall anything standing out as being super awful or stellar. Had a Groupon and decided to make a reservation for this afternoon. Fantastic experience. Very firm pressure. Classic Chinese technique. Left the place feeling like I'd been rolled out like pastry dough and wouldn't have it any other way. Went in for a reflexology treatment using the Groupon. The 60 minute treatment also included a back and shoulder massage - win! However, I was very disappointed with this experience. This was only the third time I had had a reflexology treatment, and this was nothing like I had expected based on my previous treatments at another spa. Upon entering, I told them my name, they said ok, and walked away with me standing in the doorway. After 10 minutes or so, they told me to lay down. There were no introductions, no consultation, no asking me what was ailing me - nothing. I just laid there waiting for a while until someone came over and started my treatment. With my feet soaking, he began working on the pressure points on my head, which I did not expect at all. It turned out to be basically a full body treatment, which was more than I bargained for. He used a lot of pressure, and much of the treatment was painful. I politely asked for less pressure multiple times, but it was still a little much for me. I could have been more assertive, but I was trying to trust the process. For most of the treatment I was looking forward to it being over. The cherry on top was when my reflexologist's cell phone rang very loudly, where it was resting on a table right near my head, and he actually answered it in the middle of my treatment! With no apology, he answered it and walked away. He returned a few minutes later and explained what the call was about, but still no apology for the interruption. This was not a relaxing or comfortable experience by any means and I will not be back. read more

We went here last weekend on a groupon deal. First of all, anyone who uses groupon; groupon gets half the profits so only half goes to the advertising business; and this business actually charges the same price of groupon only they get to keep 100% of the profits. And they (The spa) does such an awesome job, I'd rather give them the whole profit! I"m truly surprised to see the other 2 ratings as bad because I have had a lot of massage and reflexology in my life and in Thailand. These guys know what they are doing. I had gone to another one around the corner and they didn't know much). They will explain things if you want - draining part of your body and how things work etc. They are not all jumpin' around and going bonkers when you go in because that is now their culture. They do a strong job and know what they are doing and I like to ask questions as I like to learn. My aunt goes because it helps her eyes. It's amazing how much can be done in the whole body from a reflexology massage - they do the rest of the body also. This experience was unacceptable. I went once before and had a wonderful experience. This was the opposite. The TV was on and loud. I could hear it through my ear plugs that I bring, so I can hear my own music. This person did not touch the bottoms of my feet? What is the point of a foot massage. He focused on the tops of them. My 90 minute massage also ended 15 minutes early. I was not expecting a top spa experience and have been going to foot spas for years; this was the worse. Do not waste your money! read more

I had a great experience here! This is not a relaxing, fluffy massage. They are very firm and at times it can be a bit uncomfortable. But if you need to loosen your muscles, this is the way to go. More than a happy ending massage The woman wanted my husband to come back without me!

The place is nothing fancy and Michael watches an Asian show (Chinese?) during the session but it didn't bother me. The first time I visited this place I was 9 months pregnant and trying to induce labor. Everyone told me first-timers go late blah blah and I was trying to be proactive. There's a pressure point that releases oxytocin which begins labor and on my very first visit, since I was a week away from my due date, Michael went easy. The second time I went back was two days before my due date and Michael did not hold back. My water broke the next day (a day before my due date) and contractions started a day later (on my due date). Not sure if I should attribute it to the reflexology session but the sessions did help my feet. A lot of women experience swelling towards the end of their pregnancy but I had joint pain. My hands and feet hurt something serious. My sessions with Michael definitely helped. A real reflexology session is painful. Do not be fooled. Reflexology is not the same massage one would get with a pedicure. Pressure is applied to pressure points and it hurts. Anyway, I had a great experience. I'd definitely go back. read more

This place was terrible. I agree with everything the earlier poster said. I had a groupon for this place and I was excited for some relaxation as my feet had been quite sore from work. The place was extremely dingy. There was no greeting to speak of just "go sit here, lie down." The treatment was extremely painful. The groupon included a shoulder massage. I wasn't aware that this also meant my butt would be rubbed also. Very uncomfortable. At one point while the "therapist" was emptying out the foot bath, I heard him use the restroom with the door open and not wash his hands. Nice. At one point during the "back massage" the man was positioned over my body in a way that his crotch was pretty much on top of my head. Horrifying. The icing on the cake, when the "treatment" was done, he handed me a paper cup of water. The cooler that it came from must have been filthy. The water tasted distinctly of mold. First I would like to start by saying if I could give more stars I would! If you want a fluff massage where they stroke your ego, go pay $150 somewhere fancy! If you want the REAL DEAL ANCIENT CHINESE REFLEXOLOGY whole body muscle work out massage, a experience that will leave you feeling like putty and actually make a difference long term for your body-GO HERE! I will not sit here and say it did not hurt at times (anything worth having usually does hurt) but I could feel my muscles relax into it and feel SO good. I work two jobs; one requires me to stand for many hours, the other to sit for many hours. Both leave me with major aches and pains, something a typical swedish massage could NEVER help. Best way to describe the whole experience is like scratching an inch I never knew I had! As far as the bad reviews go on here go, I think they maybe be accustom to the "Americanized" version of reflexology given by a person who took a two hour class and is now "certified". I am sorry to say this, but this place is awful. I bought a Groupon for a 60 minute reflexology treatment, which apparently included a full body massage as well. Please keep in mind, I get reflexology treatments OFTEN. This was nothing like what I experienced, ever! Putting aside the interior of the place (which was not so nice), this had to be the worst. The pressure of the massage was so hard, I was in pain. He also used his nails on my feet, which was weird and uncomfortable. Not only was the foot massage painful, but the back massage was excruciating! It wasn't even a massage, it was poking, pushing and pain! On top of it, when I left, I was given a foam cup of warm water to drink. Gross. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a 60 minute Reflexology appointment and I have to say, it was so much more than I expected. I read the other reviews here and yes, it's not a fancy place and yes there are times when the treatment gets intense, BUT these guys know what they are doing. I walked out of there feeling truly relaxed and even better the next day. In my humble opinion the cup of warm water is given for a reason. I believe it's to help flush out any toxins on your body that are released during the treatment. I am recommending this place to my friends and definitely plan to go back for more! read more

me and my sister purchased a groupon and were very excited to go receive our treatment, we called he told us we could come in an hour from when i called..when we showed up he said sit down and soaked our feet..started working on our face and arm giving lots of pressure basically just pinching us..then once they started the reflexology him and the woman working on my sister talked the whole time in their language and very loud..couldn't relax at all at one point we both just wanted to get up and leave...then had us turn over and worked on our backs, still talking to each other then his phone rang and he answered kept working on my back as he was talking on the phone...once our service was over we were given hot water to drink...definitely will not be returning read more

Someone gave me a groupon and I went expecting a shiatsu type of treatment. Instead I received a very painful massage. I didn't mind because he loosened up my knots but be prepared, it hurt. The place is on Park Ave so I wasn't surprised by the storefront atmosphere. It is no spa to be sure. Like other reviewers I was also greeted with a grunt but being the only customer was immediately shown to a table. I can see how a woman would be made uncomfortable by the surprise butt touching. I went because it was free and won't be going back. I would rather pay full price somewhere else. read more
