I have been to this location several times before, and while every experience was different, it wasn't terrible. I was seven months pregnant and my boyfriend got me a gift certificate for a massage. On multiple occasions I made an appointment through the website and then received a follow up email stating that the scheduled time cannot work on their end. I ended up not being able to get a prenatal massage before giving birth but went for a massage about three months after I had my baby. When I booked, I told them that my certificate was for a 90 prenatal massage, but I'd be using it on a 60 min regular massage. Prior to the massage I inquired how I would be compensated for the difference in either time or money as the prenatal 90 minute massage was significantly more of a cost than the massage I received. After taking my gift certificate at the time of payment, I was told I needed to email the owner for the difference in time. In my communication with the owner, she then decided to tell me the gift certificate was for a one time use only and I would receive nothing as a credit. I respectfully tried to explain that I wasn't looking for money back, but some form of credit towards an additional massage. She was rude and disrespectful to me via email and essentially stole my boyfriend's money knowingly ahead of time. If this was the outcome, she should have indicated it ahead of time when I originally inquired. She waited for me to use the certificate at approx 60% of its value before telling me I would not have any credit towards another massage. I would not recommend this practice to anyone moving forward. read more

There's plenty of parking both in the front and back of the building which is accessible by two doors. They will be moving in a couple of weeks so will be located in another part of the building. My partner and I were very pleased with our experience. Walking in, the ambiance is calm and serene. The facility is very tidy, clean and smells relaxing- subtle and not overwhelming. The massages were BOMB! With the deep tissue massage they spent a lot of time in the problem areas and really worked on breaking up those knots. They had an awesome balance of applying pressure but releasing tension. Towards the end I felt super relaxed and walked out feeling rejuvenated. The juice bar was also wonderful! I went to Teri for a deep tissue focusing on my neck and upper back. She was very understanding, listened to all my concern areas, and really dug into tough spots that were causing me a lot of pain. She communicated with me throughout the massage to be sure it wasn't more pressure than I could handle. I left there feeling relief from the ongoing pain I've been dealing with and finally gained back some range of motion in my neck. Now, they are both very difficult to please when it comes to any type of service - as they have very high standards. I knew gifting them a couples massage with Mari would just right for them. For my parent's appointment Mari was accompanied by Missy, her other massage therapist. They asked if my mom or dad had any ongoing pain. My mom had a lower back pain that she hasn't been able to get rid of for almost a year. When I returned once their massages were done both my parents were floored by how great they felt afterward and how great the service was. In my mother's words, "I have a very difficult time finding someone who is as good as you are." And she's right. Mari's work speaks for itself. Good Masseuse, Bad Business Owner... Let me start off saying that I first found Massage By Mari through a Groupon I purchased last winter. The Groupon was for a couples massage, and I had Mari for my massage, and I enjoyed my experience for the most part. I thought that she was respectful, and had successfully created a relaxing atmosphere. The overall massage was pretty good too, except for when she went to massage my face and head. She has rather long fingernails, which feel great but retained an odor of garlic. I didn't say anything about the odor as I think I'm really sensitive to smells and also that our appointment had been booked in the afternoon so I thought that it could of been a residual smell left over from a powerful lunch she might have had. Overall, I gave that experience 4 stars. Now, Here's why I think Mari deserves a 2 star rating (and that's being generous). After I had the couples massage experience, I was satisfied enough that I wanted to come back and have more massages with Mari. I signed up for her e-mail notifications and regularly received deals that she was offering. I purchased a few massages, including one 90 minute massage and an hour massage. I scheduled the 90 minute massage with Mari and again was overall pretty happy with my experience, although I still noticed a slight odor on her fingernails of food. Come Father's Day this year, I went down to the massage parlor and Mari issued me a gift certificate for the hour long massage that I had purchased. I told her that I was gifting it to my Dad for Father's Day because I really enjoyed her massage skills, I wanted him to experience it as well. When my Dad called to schedule an appointment to redeem his Father's Day gift, he called and spoke with Mari. He said that he wanted a massage by Mari and did NOT want anyone else because I had recommended her so highly. She inquired what my name was and said that she was glad to hear that I spoke so highly of her. My dad also said that he is retired and that his schedule was very open and flexible. He said that so she could schedule him whenever she had an opening, as long as it was with her. She made an appointment with my Dad for a few days later and told my Father that she would see him then. On the day of my Dad's appointment, he walked into the parlor and said that he was looking for Mari. Mari introduced herself and shook my Dad's hand. She then proceeded to tell him that the masseuse would be right with him. My Dad immediately said that he had scheduled the appointment specifically with HER . She rudely said, "Oh no, I'm not taking any new clients." She also said that the woman who was giving my Dad's massage was "really good". My Dad was really upset with the whole situation, and understandably so. All Mari had to say was, "Well, I'm sorry you feel that way." Overall, the whole ordeal IS NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS. If Mari was no longer taking clients, when my Dad called and requested her, she should have informed him then that she was booked and no longer taking new clients. Instead, she promised him an appointment to get him in the door and redeem the gift certificate. On top of the whole experience, my Dad said you could tell that the masseuse he had was newly out of school. She neglected to massage his fingers and toes, which he enjoys the most because he has some arthritis. My Dad has had some great massages in the past at other establishments. In the end, I'm not only extremely disappointed with the way Mari handled the situation but very upset that what was suppose to be an enjoyable & relaxing gift for an amazing Dad, turn into such a disappointment. Needless to say, if this is the way Mari operates her business, she's not going to be around for long anyway. read more

The place was a little difficult to find in a plaza but definitely worth the find! My boyfriend's massage therapist I think was Jackie and Mari was mine. I can't speak for him but my massage was AMAZING!! The nice heated bed, the relaxing music, everything! The only downfall of the entire massage was when the fire alarm to the building went off about 15 mins into our massage which was NOT their fault at all. What really impressed me was how well Mari handed this unforeseen circumstance. She was extremely profession and calm which was wonderful! We purchased a groupon for $100 for a couples massage- and I gave it to hubby for Christmas. I was really impressed with this place from the very beginning. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE online bookings. It makes it super easy and I loved how much communication I received prior to our appointment, including a note about doing our in take form and not arriving too early. Upon entering, we were shown to the waiting area which was super calming and relaxing. I was pleasantly surprised with how large the facility was. We were shown to our area and had Emily and Seth as our therapists. We felt super comfortable with them and they did a great job. I wish I had asked to turn off the lamp in the room. It was hard to keep my eyes shut with it shining through, but I can always imagine that it's hard for them to see anything when the lights are out. Perhaps a night light is an option? The entire process was easy, relaxing and GREAT. I can personally speak for my massage with Seth who seemed to have a bit of a different technique than I'm used to in that he really seemed to get the knots and kinks out, which I desperately needed. I have had several massages before that were good but left some things to be desired. Mari has a gift. I arrived 5 minutes prior to my massage, as she suggested. I walked in to this beautifully simply decorated business that looked immaculate. It was small but that just made it feel cozy and welcoming to me. Upon arrival she asked if I had any problem areas that have been giving me pain, I stated that I am a runner and I have some lower back and shoulder pain but am generally tense all over. She gave me some instruction as to how she was going to start the massage and left me to prepare for our session. Her excellence is really in the details. The heated massage table, arm rest and lightly scented massage oil were all great but her massage skills were what shone. I am a scientist so I know a little about anatomy and physiology. She goes beyond that. She clearly knows the human body and how to relieve tension. It felt like she could feel every ounce of tension in my body and intuitively knew how little or how much pressure to apply. Her massage skills are not just from her years of practice or training, but I believe she has a gift. It felt like massage comes naturally and intuitively to her, like she was born to do it. After making my decision and purchasing the services, I was very excited for the couples massage. We arrived about 15 minutes early. They are in the upper back corner of a smaller plaza.
