I was experiencing awful headaches stemming from my shoulders and neck due to sitting at a desk 40 hours a week with a "not-so-perfect" posture. It became so bad a couple weeks ago that I decided I would give a massage a shot to see if it would help. As others have written, the atmosphere Michaela has created is absolutely serene. She made me feel right at home and totally comfortable right from our introduction. Michaela takes the time to ask about your discomforts and really gets to know you which I loved. It made the whole experience feel much more personal and much less "business owner/client." Michaela explains everything she is doing throughout the massage and makes sure you are 100% comfortable for the duration. The massage itself was amazing and Michaela is without a doubt the real deal. She has been in the field for a long time and it shows. My shoulders and neck instantly felt 10x better (along with the rest of my body) and continue to now, two weeks after my visit to Still Point! As a first time client going for one of my first ever massages, I really had no idea what to expect, but Michaela has made herself a new regular client! I have no reason to look elsewhere... I get a massage at least twice a year whether I need it or not. I gotta improve my lifestyle, if for no other reason than to spend more time on Michaela's table at Still Point. I've been working with her for a few years now and was delighted when she opened her own practice. She's so lovely, a terrific listener and adept at attending to my highly specific medical situation. I have big old incision scars from the base of my skull to the middle of my back that hate direct pressure, but affect nearby tissues which therefore need tons of direct pressure. Michaela never, ever hits a bad spot and never wimps out on the hardcore kneading my shoulders demand. Still Point's location on the top floor of a grand old Victorian Manse has beautiful natural light and good sized rooms--it feels open rather than stuffy, as massage treatment rooms sometimes do. Massage will drastically improve your life. I do my best to get a massage every few months, more when possible or necessary. Like many people I spend a lot of time sitting...in the office at work, in my car, at home on the couch, at my sewing table...and the body gets stiff. There are some things that all the stretching in the world just won't help. Enter massage. Going for a massage can make some people nervous or anxious even. (Do I get totally naked? Before I knew it I was on the table and being whisked away to a peaceful half-consciousness. Michaela is so gifted at what she does. She is responsive to your specific needs and will accommodate any changes in pressure or focus. I always feel completely relaxed and know that I am in great hands. Her care and compassion are as evident as her extensive knowledge of the human body and it's many complicated and connected parts. Needless to say, I left Tuesday evening feeling incredibly relaxed and calm, my muscles were loose and the knot in my back was all but a distant memory. Such a relaxing experience! Still Point Massage is located in this really charming but massive house that has been reutilized into a space for businesses. Michaela was absolutely wonderful; she listened to the issues I was having with tension in my shoulders and neck but also worked out knots I didn't even realize I had. She was VERY easy to be around and make me feel comfortable immediately. The space itself is really cozy. Amy was great! I arrived with a hip and lower back aches. She took the time to listen, and gave me an amazing deep tissue massage. I work in a warehouse lifting heavy boxes and bending all day, walking on hard concrete. Amy worked on my shoulders and hips, legs and even my hands--I felt soft and flushed afterwards and like I had been treated very well. I also liked that Amy spoke to me only a few times, asking if it felt alright, and I so enjoyed the quiet which adds to the relaxation for me. Ten years ago, I wrecked my back whilst replacing my bathroom. I couldn't straight up during the mornings and have not been able to do so for the last 9 ¾ years. During this period of time I have tried ever known cure. Initially, the Spine Specialist took an MRI and claimed that L4 and L5 in my back were compromised. He then preceded to give my several cortisone shots over the ensuring years, all to no avail; no pain relief and no early morning straight back. Many days I went to work with my shoes untied; once at work, when my back had released, I could tie them up! I then had 20+ appointment with my Chiropractor. I'm convinced that this hurt rather than helped. The next Spine Specialist I saw was from a top hospital who referred me to Physical Therapy...6 months later and no real improvement. I was desperate, I even tried Acupuncture! I have an active lifestyle, I play tennis, golf and ride my bike but after each activity I needed to take lots of prescription strength anti-inflammatories. These are dreadful for my liver but they enabled me to have a decent life style. Last month, my regular doctor forbid me to take any more anti-inflammatories. I was concerned about a permanently degraded lifestyle...Enter Michaela, The other reviews talk about her skills, both interpersonal and professional, these are 100 percent correct. This was my first massage and I felt uncomfortable with the thought of someone touching me, but she was able to make this a non-issue. Her ability to ease both mind and body are exemplary, but her real value add for me was her understanding of how the body connects and the series of activities which can cause added stress to the joints and muscles. Michaela's plan for me was a routine lasting 4 minutes/day, all stretches. These stretches were polar opposite to the MD, PT and Chiropractors recommendations. Within 3 days, I was getting out of bed with my back straight and no pain. (Impossible after nearly 10 years, but true) I have just returned from a golf vacation, played every day and did not take any medication. Michaela should not be viewed as only a masseuse but someone who understands the holistic approach to healing pain. I recommend her with no hesitation. Thanks for giving me my life back! read more

Michaela is wonderful!! I went to her a few times while she was at Body Sense and just loved her demeanor as well as her massage skills. She makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed, even if you're like me and get a little nervous with these sorts of things! Michaela always remembers her clients and knows exactly how much pressure to use, and where. She even provides excellent consultations at the end of each session. I am so happy she has gone ahead and opened her own practice so she can do things her own way.
