I have had some good massages here, and some bad ones. It's a 50/50 but they are always there if you need an emergency massage.

First off, and Im not exaggerating... NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH. I went in with a groupon and they refused to let me use it. The lady made me call "the boss", cause thats all she could say, so I did. Guess what, he barely speaks english either and he kept saying, "groupon for new customer only", in which I responded, I just moved here from Minnesota and this is my first time to your business. Lol, the guy didnt believe me for some crazy reason and then hung up on me!!... Needless to say, I have no idea what the massages are like, but if they are anything like the customer service, then I dont even want to know, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do not go here! Groupon can only be applied for first visit, reservation is required for groupon customers. Walk-in accepted for non-groupon customers Most of the stuff do not speak English. The massage was okay. I got a one hour massage for 39 (groupon price). However, they made me pay at least $10 for tips claiming that this is because I enjoyed the low groupon price...I do not think things work that way. read more

Don't let the convenience of being at the mall lure you into this place. I'm a former massage therapist and went there a while ago. Lady had no clue about giving a massage. I had to actually tell her what to do. She would leave the room to deal with other customers and then come back. Also she was arguing in Korean (I guess) with the guy next door while they were both working on people. Then at the end of the horrible experience I wanna leave her $5 tip as a courtesy and she's like..."$5? How ab ten?...I had to laugh and get the hell outta there to never return. I'm not a massage snob although I've had fancy massages in hotels and spas around the country. I think some high priced massages can be terrible and vice versa. I go here when I want my feet or back done and do want to schedule an appointment. Two weeks ago I had my first table massage here with Lisa. My back was really tight and she worked really hard to help work through the knots. She did a really good job. She knew how to drape appropriately and had enough time at the end to quickly massage my legs and arms. The price was very reasonable and I tipped her $20.00. Went here on a weekend, called to make the appt and used a groupon. This was for the reflexology which I was pleasantly surprised that the first 10 min they massaged my arms, neck, and upper back while soaking my feet. The woman had very strong hands so you feel her getting the knots out but that is what I was looking for. The do not speak any English and the reflexology part was right near the entrance so you can hear a lot of background noise. Overall it was worth the low cost of the groupon bc the massage was excellent read more

Typically you can walk-in and not wait. Prices are $55 for an hour $80 for 90 minutes. These are both positive because its really hard to get last minute massage appointments in MA/RI on weekends. Curtains do not keep noise from other rooms from disturbing you. My female friends like Tina for massages. read more

If I could leave no stars I would have! We were at the mall and my back had been hurting the last few days so I decided to try out u relax. I ask for a 30 min full back. They bring me into a dark room w a heater and a nice headed bed tell me to take it off then leave , I take off my top stuff and lay face down. the guy comes in then laughs ,says I was supose to take it all off and then go under covers I say no I just wanted my back done thank you he laughs again at me. (His English is almost non existent and anytime he said anything I had to ask multiple times for him to repeat it , he also was having troubles understanding me as well) he does my back, neck ,and shoulders then takes the blanket sheet off of me then pulls my pants and underwear down (past my butt )and starts massaging my butt he's standing to close and he presses "himself" up against my arm (this actually happened 4 times and only once did he back away quickly)I am getting freaked out ,he rubbed my butt for much longer then he should have ! (I've had Massages where they have rubbed my butt with a sheet over it ,always the outer part where the most muscle is and they normally ask first, he did not ask and he took the sheet off and my pants!)this dude was rubbing my entire butt without the sheet on my damn bare skin !!! I have never ever ever had this happen anywhere And i have had professional massages all over . This was the first time I have had one at an Asian place so I wasn't sure if this was the norm. I tried to ask the people at the desk what parts of your body they are suppose to rub with this type of massage. All they kept saying was "if you liked you can go again we have openings" I told them no thank you and I'd never go there again ! I left the $30 on the table and left . Despite the name of the business, don't expect to relax too much at U Relax. I went here with a Groupon over Labor Day weekend and the foot reflexology massage I got was good. Very, very good even. My masseuse was a bit hard to communicate with, but she did wonderful work and even set a timer before we started to ensure I would get the full 60 minutes I paid for out of the deal. However, I don't think I'd be returning to U Relax unless their "keeping the door open" policy changed. The noise from outside the facility is really bad. Their location is right near a garage entrance and I had to spend half of my massage listening to a family have a loud argument about how much money they spent that day. Good services, Groupon special is great but the atmosphere and noise is too much to contend with to have a truly relaxing visit. read more

Ok I usually read reviews about places but I did not before I went there. I was able to get an appointment very fast & easy. The place is fairly dark but no candles to at least relax me a bit. The masseuse never told me his name and he had a cold because he kept sniffing badly and had a hard time breathing through his nose. I could not relax the whole time, I was just afraid his nose was going to drip on me. And then he sneezed while both his hands was still on my back. The massage was good but I never relaxed or enjoy it much. when I woke up the next day I had back pain & neck pain, and no I had no pain before. I was just getting the massage for my birthday. Not really a spa! It was freezing cold and there was no room to undress or place to put your clothes. They offered up a plastic bin for your clothes. Luckily there was no one there because when you put your clothes down you can see into the other areas because there are only curtains. Massage was ok but I would never go back! read more

I bought a Groupon for a 60-min full body couple's massage. At first my fiancée and I were excited and ready to relax. We had a rude awakening when we arrived. First, it was a painful massage and I had to ask my masseuse to tone down the pressure. I'm still feeling the pain on my neck, one day later, and had to take Tylenol to ease the pain. Second, It was Not a relaxing atmosphere. My masseuse had the nerve to answer a business call WHILE she was massaging me and I could hear children screaming in the background outside the massage room. Third, my masseuse was rather rude and not very hospitable. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning there nor recommending anyone to go there. read more

I never even made it to the appointment. The HORRIBLE customer service beforehand forced me to call Groupon and cancel my coupon. The gentleman that answers the phone doesn't speak English well at all and when you try to say you don't understand, HE HANGS UP! SO RUDE. Again, as someone mentioned earlier, they state they only accept the groupon during the week, however it is never stated in the Groupon information. I told Groupon customer service that I would rather cancel it and get my refund than risk going to my appointment and then doing a terrible job. I work long shifts where I stand on my feet all day and am often on the phone (holding phone between ear and shoulder). That being said, I have very tight neck and shoulders and my feet are achy. I love the convenience of walking in without an appointment. I come here about once or twice a month although I have been guilty of coming twice a week. They do a really good job of working out my knots and kinks. They use really deep pressure that hurts so good. They also do a really good foot massage. read more

Their customer service is HORRIBLE and I am so upset! I love Groupon for their great deal and previously used them in purchasing a couples massage in Boston several months ago. My husband loved so we decided to search for another groupon couples massage and came across this one in Providence. Someone else mentioned this in another review and I too always read the fine print before making a groupon purchase. Anyways, so I purchased it and called them to make an appointment and the person barely spoke English. Since my husband has an accent and most of my family members do too I am sensitive to situations like this and try extra hard to communicate and be polite. The person on the phone was so rude and would not give me their name and said they do not accept groupons and that they want payment at time of appointment I mentioned how it was advertised that their location accepts groupons and I already paid for it. She told me I should just return it and at first I said no because my husband and I are really looking forward to this- she cave in and said okay when would you like to schedule. Since we work long hours during the week we wanted to make an appointment on a weekend day. She said that don't take groupons on the weekend, I asked why and that the groupon site fine print did not say there were these limitations at all and she responded with that they are short staffed and don't have the room on the weekend and it has to be during the week. I asked if there were even any appointments available on any upcoming weekends thinking maybe we will just pay out of pocket for this couples massage and she then said they don't do couples massage on the weekend...their story keeps changing so I checked their website while on the phones and it shows that all services are available 7 days a week. She then said if I wasn't happy with coming in during the week to return it and not come in at all... !!! what kind of business does that and says that?!? I had to AGAIN explain that since this was a service that was purchased through groupon that it would require me to put in a request and wait to know whether I would get a refund and it's not a click of a button to return it/cancel the order and asked if there was any way we could make this work. She then said again that they don't take groupons at all..... waste of time and horrible experience. NowI am in the process of working with Groupon's customer service to cancel the order and get my money back. From personal experience, I understand it can be challenging and frustrating to communicate in English when you may not know it well or it's not your first language but there is NO REASON OR EXCUSE that justifies being rude and disrespectful to other - ESPECIALLY COMING FROM A BUSINESS! read more

The poor reviews ahead of mine sum it up! I asked at least five times during my massage for the man to go easier and softer, for at one point I couldn't breathe and thought he might even crack a rib! I have back muscle problems and have been getting massages for years now. I was so tense throughout this massage, for fear that he was going to hurt me, that I got little to nothing out of it. OK, I purchased a groupon for a 60 min couples massage for 79 dollars. Before I purchase groupns i ALWAYS read the fine print, so i was pleased to see there were no restrictions, all you had to do was make the appointment in advance. I tried calling a week in advance to make my appointment, I told the lady I had a groupon and let her know i was a new customer, she told me they only take appointments 2 days in advance. so, I called back on a Thursday because I wanted to make the appointmet on that following saturday. They proceeded to tell me they do not take groupons over the weekend, which had me baffled because when i callled the first time and told her i had the groupon and wanted to use it that saturday she only told me to make the appointment 2 days in advance NOT I couldn't use the groupon that day. So now she says to me that they get too busy on weekends with their "usual" customers and I was welcome to come during the week, which made me say to her it seemed they were only catering to their usual customers, because when i tried to make an appointment she refused to give me one, and not only that she told me i could come by myself because they were too busy and could only take one person. HUH????? I paid for a couples massage why would I want to go alone??? To make a super long story short, they did not seem to try and bend not even a little to get new business. This place was terrible. I got a groupon for a nice couples massage for my boyfriend and I. First of all it was so difficult to communicate with them it was immediately not relaxing. Then they put us in a room with no direction (like start face down or on your back). There was nothing there to cover up with besides a bath towel. I of course did not know how exactly to drape this over myself. When the guy came back in he clearly didn't like the way I had done it. He picked up the towel and completely exposed my lower half! There was no relaxing music... I was massaged to the sounds of people around me getting massaged, people walking around the mall, doors closing and whatever else. Every two minutes timers were going off. Flash forward to when the man yelled at me to "turn over" and held the towel so he could see just about all of me. I turn to see my boyfriend with the massage therapist ON HIS BACK STRADDLED OVER HIM IN JEANS. The massage was painful and unprofessional to say the least. I visited the URelax in Providence place mall (drove an hour from my home) to be told I needed to make an appointment because I had a groupon, but if I wanted to pay cash and not use my groupon they would see me. That made no sense. I told them I would wait all day or shop and come back in the evening- but they couldn't see me that day because I was paying with a groupon- ok. So I went home and checked my schedule and called the listed business phone number (on the groupon and their website)...it must have been a cell phone, I started calling at 2 in the afternoon on a Wednesday and called atleast 10x throughout the day/ evening- there was no answer, the ring was strange and inconsistent, I questioned if I had the right number. Also there was no voicemail or it was full (I forget). I kept calling and woke up the next morning and called starting at 9 am through 3 in the afternoon (atleast 15 times)....finally someone picked up, he did not speak English well, but I got my point across that I had a groupon and wanted an appointment. I showed up for my appt, they had an attitude and were not very friendly towards me. When I whipped out my groupon as a means of payment, the women gave me more of an attitude and told me they have seen me there in the past and I could not use the groupon. She was yelling and very rude. I had been there once or twice a year ago for a quick neck massage, and this was my FIRST time there for a reflexology treatment so I thought that was okay to use the groupon. The woman demanded that I paid an additional 10 dollars on top of the groupon. I was so frustrated at this point (after driving another hour and multiple failed phone attempts to schedule an appt) I gave her the extra 10 dollars. The reflexology session was out in the open and noisey, and the man kept stopping during my session to answer peoples questions and tend to the walk ins. Not professional. He also kept sighing as if he did not want to be working. I felt so uncomfortable. So at the end of the lousy session I tipped him about 10% of the groupon price and he yelled over to a female employee who started yelling at me that I needed to tip more money! I was so embarrassed being ridiculed in public and I thought he did not earn a 20% tip and tips are at the buyers discretion! I am extremely un satisfied with this service/ groupon! I wish I would've looked at reviews before purchasing then I would definitely looked elsewhere. Immediately as I entered it smelled like noodles. I can tell I was going to be unhappy because of all the noise from the mall. I heard people laughing, yelling, cars, everything so you get no relaxation. Secondly, no one spoke english and being this was my very first full body massage I didnt know what to do. Do I place towel a certain way? With my luck I got a man, which was uncomfortable because when they said take off clothes I took it ALL off, and not sure if I was supposed to because he was massaging me with the towel, even my back. After a bit I asked if the entire massage was going to be with him massaging over the towel. I felt offended as to why he didn't want to touch my skin and no one understood a word of what I was asking. I later realized why he did, b/c ppl have complained about it being cold in there and it is. How can you feel comfortable and relaxed when you are nude in freezing? I have had severe backache from weight training and this was recommended and nothing like I imagined. The 10 minutes lost waiting for a translator was not added to my hr later on because the timer kept going. He left twice to tend to customers coming in. I felt bad for him bc he seemed nervous. They dont use oil just cheap cocobutter lotion. And I smelled like cologne. I will never go again. My body was tense enough and i absolutely did not relax the whole time I was there. I am glad I didnt not have to pay full price for this. I tipped hi well due to my big heart. NEVER again. read more
