Great Pad See Ew! Was super impressed with the softness and overall texture of the egg noodles. They nailed the spice level - 7 of 10 was super spicy. Excellent ratio of carrots-broccoli-noodles. Ok, if you're hungry and have no other options. I was a just curious because the menu looked tempting. Overall, flavors weren't as sharp as I am used to for real Thai. Maybe the staff tones down the spices to suit El Cajon clientele, who knows?, but I guarantee they don't eat it like this at home. I ordered: 1. Eggplant with pork: Everything was warm and tasted ok but when you've tasted truly delicious eggplant, then this dish will just make you sad. Don't order this. Pick anything else. 2. Papaya salad: I recommend anything above a '3' on the spice scale. I was being over cautious after getting burnt badly at a potent restaurant in LA, but 3 was too boring here. I got a to go order of the pork Pad See Ew at Spice Level 6 (spelled Pad See Lew on their menu). Although I typically order a spice level 7 at other restaurants, something about the other reviews on Yelp made me think that a 6 at Thai Time would be the right number, and indeed it was: ....it was spicy, but not so much as to set my mouth on absolute fire (i.e. I would it equate it to a 7 at most restaurants). It was a plentiful amount of food, as was obviouis when they handed me my order and I could feel how heavy it was. It turned out that it was enough for two meals for me. I was very pleased that it wasn't greasy, that it had a nice flavor profile, and that the ingredients felt like they were good quality. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that I felt that it was a little light on the amount of vegetables and pork compared to the amount of noodles (there was a really good amount on top, but once I got through the top layer, the amount of veggies and meat thinned out massively)....next time I think I'll ask for *heavy* veggies and see if that makes a difference. read more

I was immediately greeted by a waitress that was friendly & professional. It's a small size store front with limited seating with about 10 tables with nice decor/art work on the walls. Late post. We came here on April 7, 2023 for dinner. It wasn't crowded in the restaurant but there were a lot of people picking up food. Hosts were very nice. Greeted us when we came in and we got seated pretty fast. There is good amount of parking in the lot. We ordered seafood pad thai and yellow curry with chicken. Servings for both were pretty substantial. Seafood was juicy and pretty good size and both dishes were very very good. I was leary about coming here because the one in downtown has gone downhill but I was very impressed with the dishes here. Highly recommend and hoping to come back here soon. read more

This place has become my new thai place! I use to go to a place in PB but its a drive so I decided to look around my area. This is real close to home and the staff here are super friendly! They have a great menu and selection to choose from. It's a small shop so keep in mind when going to sit down - you are in arm's reach of one another and when I go in to pick up my food I'm usually standing between two tables at the counter. The only downside is sometimes the wait can be long - once I waited 30 mins when sit down wasn't an option only takeout was, and once even 40 mins but when I arrived all the tables were taken. To me it's worth it as I usually am busy enough to keep myself occupied until I have to head down to pick my food up. It's always piping hot too! I order their pad see ew with beef and no spice. They give a good sized portion and I usually can't finish it in one sitting so it's nice to have leftovers. It's sometimes all I crave so I'm glad it's not too far from me! read more

We came here on a holiday (MLK) so the launch special wasn't available. We ordered their garlic and pepper beef and duck red curry dish. I think they accidentally swapped the spiciness levels for the two dishes as my red curry dish was too intense for both of us. It was supposed to be a 3 out of 10 and tasted like a 6 out of 10. The other dish was not so spicy hence the thought, it got swapped. I was disappointed it didn't have the eggplant in it either. Next time I would need to ask to be sure it gets included. Visited while in town getting my car repaired nearby. I'm surprised that after almost 20 years (when I last lived in the area), it's still around. I remember it being one of the best in town. I only went in for takeout this time. Ordered the Panang curry, Tom Kha soup, and mango sticky rice. It was made pretty fast. I ordered while sitting in the lot, and it was ready the min I showed which was literally 15min after I got off the phone. Lady up front was preoccupied with orders, but prompt and friendly enough. I saw maybe two groups dining in for lunch. Place did show its age, but adequate in appearance and fairly clean. Casual vibe with a little too much lighting for my tastes though, so takeout was definitely the better option. Actually, the 3 stars given is because the food was just meh. My curry and soup were spot on in the selected spicy level desired (mild 3-4), but they skimped on ingredients. I've also tasted better sticky rice. The rice was in fact borderline mushy. I found this place on Yelp...So glad this place is open until 9:30 since most places in East County close at 9pm. I ordered take out. When I went to pick up the food I couldn't help but notice how beautiful and quaint the dining room is. They did A LOT with such a small space. KUDOS to the owners for that! This is probably the best Thai Food I've had in San Diego. The appetizer sampler is a good value and variety. The Pad See Ew was yummy and they gave us a generous serving of delicious Tiger Cry Steak (with the spicy sauce on the side). Loved the fresh spring rolls. A table next to me got some drinks and they were huge! The only thing was there was a really loud sound in the restaurant coming from the kitchen area, I think, and it was super uncomfortable for my ears. Not sure what it was. Found this place during Christmas and immediately loved it because it was decorated so pretty. This place is also close to home and I have been there more times than I care to count. Everything I have ordered so far has been super flavorful and they give a good amount of food. When in season the mango sticky rice is my favortie dessert here.
