Most excellent, if not as spicy as I had asked for. The spinach really makes the dish. More spicy was my wife's green curry with tofu. That really lit up the taste buds. Visited this place pre-Covid and loved it then. First a note about location. It's located right next to the Eastern Sierra Regional Airport which is in the middle of nowhere outside of town. We didn't know that and navigated with Waze. We thought for sure we had punched in the wrong destination since it's pitch black on the road there at night. So be patient and you'll get there. The airport is a small non-descript building next the airport. Clean place, friendly staff, very much a local place, which I love. Unfortunately, I don't remember what we ordered a few years ago but they were all great. I was thrilled to see that this place was still open on our recent trip to Mammoth. On this trip I ordered the garlic duck. If you like duck and garlic, this is for you. Crispy, tender and very moist covered with a tasty minced garlic sauce, on a bed of vegetables. I would highly recommend this. My buddy ordered the Thai Thai Noodle soup, which he thought was very good as well. It had a good amount of tasty pork and shrimp. It was a surprise for us having found a Thai restaurant which is a bit off the main road, just couple mile but it is definitely not in a very busy area. However, the food were excellent with great service. They give you large portion for the price. We ordered the fried rice, 2 stir-fry dishes. The beef was surprisingly tender and well marinated, which is rare for many Thai restaurants. Fried rice was flavorful and had tons of shrimps. We drive to Mammoth almost annually so this will be our usual lunch stop from now on. read more

New owners reopened just a few weeks ago but what a difference! The menu is huge now! Also added Vietnamese and Filipino food. Tried the garlic chicken for lunch and it was fantastic. Huge portion of garlic chicken plus a small salad and crispy roll (think it's Lumpia but not sure) plus rice and a bottle of water for $11! Tonight I had the waterfall pork that was amazing and the banana leaf steamed fish curry was great also. So glad the new owner was willing to expand the menu. If I could give them a MINUS STAR I would. Ordered the Chick chowmein , spicy! I eat here frequently. My server brings me a dish with no spice at all so I send it back. The lazy owner dumps a bunch of powdered spice on it and ships it back out. Never seen this before here, again I'm a Bishop local and eat here 3-4 month. I tell them this is not what I normally receive whenever I order this dish. Owner comes out and asks me to leave. NO PROBLEM IM OUT IF HERE PERMANENTLY. This place has really gone to crap, they can't keep employees and I figure probably something to do with the owners bad attitude. So sad to write a horrible review..... we live in Bishop and visit this restaraunt 3-4 times a month. EVERY visit we get the drunken noodles with chicken... E.V.E.R.Y time. I took one bite this visit and knew immediately something was off. Took a second bite and could not take another. It was bad, not edible. I told the waitress, after about 5 min she came back to the table and said the cook said he didn't make it any different than he normally does. I handed her the dish and said well I'm not eating something that is bad. Fast forward to our bill, we were told they would give us a discount but would not take the dish off the ticket. After a few rounds with the poor waitress, the cook/owner finally came out. After an argument, YES an argument he said he would take the dish off the ticket just this one time and next time he would not......as if.... We shared with him that we come in almost weekly and always look forward to that dish and know exactly how good it normally is. He said he's made it four other times today and no one complained.... My thought maybe the previous customers just thought this restataunt wasn't a good one and chalked it up to bad food and plan to not return. So disappointed in the complete lack of customer service provided here, the cook should be ashamed of himself for his lack of business ethics and his behavior. This restaraunt has always struggled with its quality of table service but this experience makes the mediocre, good for Bishop, Thai food not worth it. read more

What a random Thai restaurant in Bishop, CA! I mean, I guess this city gets enough traffic from people traveling in between SoCal and Mammoth/Las Vegas so its existence is not too surprising. Then again, it's also at a small airport (which is a great place to land, by the way) which makes it more random! I went with the Pad Thai with chicken which was pretty good. It wasn't a heap-load-American portion so there's a slight possibility you may still be hungry if that's the only dish you're consuming--sharing is key. HIDDEN GEM!!! I was wary on the 3.7 star reviews, as I usually don't go anywhere unless it's 5 stars. But it was late after a day of touring Bishop, so we decided to take the chance since kids were hungry and didn't want to drive far and boy am I glad we did. Don't let it being at the small airport corner fool you. We parked our large RV on the free parking area, as long as it's not overnight, it's ok to park there. We tried almost every good Thai restaurant in LA and OC area. My wife's best friend is Thai and she knows what good authentic Thai food looks and tastes like. Every single item we ordered was cooked to perfection. We ordered drunken seafood noodle and the scallops, mussels, and shrimp were huge and generous portions. Their pineapple seafood fried rice was absolutely delicious. Also their stir fry seafood wok was delicious. I saw that they had Pho beef noodle soup and wasn't going to order it since it's Vietnamese and we're at a Thai place. I took the chance and man.... It was a home run! The beef quality seemed like they just killed a cow that was roaming in that grassy area and served it to us. I haven't had good beef quality like this one in a while. Really like the food here, which is why we wanted to go here for my wife's birthday. Called three times to make a reservation and was put on hold for ten minutes each time. Maybe they are really busy. If so, ask people to call back, don't leave them on hold and ignore them, especially after you have asked them to hold. Not happy. Hope things get better. read more

Big serving, flavourful, perfectly cooked - fried rice - can't go wrong, but the Thai spices in it kick it up a notch - garlic duck - this is extremely garlicky. The skin is crispy. Always struggle with finding vegetarian meals on the road. Choices are always limited. So we get a little giddy when we find one. I thought we were given bad google directions. Thai Thai sits adjacent to the runway for the Bishop airport. Lets get into it. I pressed the server/owner for a recommendation on the seafood. He recommended the curry custard with seafood mix. To my delight, hearty portions of shrimp, mussels, fish and more. Also ordered pad thai with the same seafood mix. Served with chopped peanuts and lime. Ask for spicy and got it. Prices have gone up, portions have gone down and there is now a MANDATORY 10% gratuity for pick-up. The Tom Ka Gai was good, so two stars, but "smaller than normal" in both our opinions. I ordered the pad Thai with tofu and extra veggies (veggies made it cost more), and received the driest pad Thai I have ever eaten with very minimal vegetables. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD!!! I read the reviews on Yelp and saw that the restaurant had four stars and good reviews, so I decided to try this place with my boyfriend. It took them about five minutes to seat us. They didn't even acknowledge us when we walked in. We sat down and received our menus after 6-7 minutes. I had to wave the waitress down to order a Thai tea. After the waitress seated us, two other parties were seated and got their drink orders taken right away. That really got me heated - the other parties got their drinks before we did. The waitress finally came to the table to take our order. I ordered Spicy Tom Yum with chicken and a side of white rice and the boyfriend ordered salmon with white rice. After we placed our order, I had to remind her about my Thai tea. We sat there for a good 15 minutes watching other parties receive their food before us, and my boyfriend jokingly guessed that it'd take about 30 minutes for our food to show up. Finally, I got my Thai tea after about 15 minutes. My soup came about 15 minutes later without the rice. The soup was gross...NOT REAL THAI FOOD AT ALL. It had mixed vegetables for a Tom Yum soup (broccoli, carrots, cucumbers) and they forgot my rice. I had to wave down the waitress for the rice and my soup wasn't spicy at all so I had to order extra spices to add to the soup. My boyfriend told me to just go ahead and eat, so I uncomfortably ate my meal knowing that this isn't what real Thai food tastes like. Five minutes go by...10 minutes...15 minutes. I finished my food and his fish still wasn't out yet. The waitress didn't even offer us refills for our water or stop by to let us know how much longer his food is going to take. I mean come on, it's salmon! How long does it take to cook? We were going to just leave the money on the table for my meal and leave since we weren't getting any decent service. I was pretty annoyed at this point. Over 15 minutes after I got my food, the waitress came out with his food. I told her that we don't want it anymore since it was ridiculous for food to take that long and I've already finished. She looked at me like I was joking and asked "So you don't want this?" Do you not understand English? I got up and went to pay and the waitress didn't even look at me, nor did she offer an apology... Hidden gem at Bishop, right next to the airport. The road to get here you might think you're getting lost, but no worries, as soon as you saw the sign of the airport, the restaurant name "Thai Thai" is listed there as well. It's owned by an elderly couple, so if you're really hungry, it might not be a good idea to eat here, cause the food takes awhile to come out, especially when you see few tables are occupied before you. This rating are in comparison with the food available around Bishop, so it's worth 4 stars. Must get the Panang Curry, it's the tastiest and flavorful food out of all the food that we ordered. We also got House Special Fried Rice, Spicy Basil, and also Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was a bit too soggy for my taste, so not really liking this dish much. There's an option of House Special Fried Rice and Spicy Fried Rice, fortunately we picked the House Special, because the taste was so much better. Our friend ordered the Spicy Fried Rice, it was no spicy at all, tasted pretty bland in fact. The spicy basil was just alright. I would totally recommend to order the Panang and don't be scared to make it spicy cause I believe they cater mostly for locals and Thai spicy would be off the chart, no one probably could eat it. The owner told us that they have BYOB policy, so if you feel like drinking, bring your own bottle of wine or beer. They also have live music on Sat night per their information. Cool place to eat in Bishop...totally off the main drag. There was a live saxaphonist which seemed a bit out of place for a thai restaurant but was enjoyable nevertheless. We were lucky enough to get a big booth to fit our group and with one of our party being thai, he helped us do all the ordering. The chicken rama was very good, even if not authentic. The Thai iced tea is definitely a great deal for $2 cos you get a huge glass and it was delicious. The Tom Yum was fine, although we inexplicably were given (and charged) for two even though we ordered one. At the same time one of the curry dishes we ordered we never got (nor were we charged). The other chicken curry was good, but the pad khee mao was a major disappointment. It was made with phad thai noodles instead of the wide noodles and the ingredients were more like a modified phad thai but without the tamarind flavors. Service was just OK, given the mistakes. Still, next time Im in Bishop I'd plan on stopping in again! read more

I love that it's at the airport with a view of the airstrip and surrounding peaks. It's mostly locals. The owner is SUPER social and friendly. Food: 1. Chicken Rama- Chef's special. Not found elsewhere and the peanut sauce was delicious! I also appreciated the bed of spinach which is not typically found in Thai entrees. 2. Stopped by here while flying out and back to Vegas. Overall: meh. The food is not traditional Thai, however the taste was fine. If you want ANY spice, you'll have to add it yourself using the chili paste on the table. I asked for "Thai hot" and it came with NO spice at all, completely bland.
