Thai Spice is my go to! I have food allergies and Thai Spice is one of the only places I can eat in Anderson. They know what they are doing!! Their food is so good and we love the spring rolls! I ordered to go from here while working in Anderson. The restaurant was small and full but there was still parking available in the small lot out front. They had my food ready when I arrived. Price was decent for lunch potion of curry and an appetizer. They included plastic ware and a napkin. I ended up eating it in my car on the way back to work and it was pretty good. I had enough curry and rice left over for dinner that nice. The slices of onion were larger than some of the chicken pieces so I picked those out - and I'll always ask for more cashews in my massaman but it was really good, accessible, and the service was very friendly. I'll def be back for lunch and may even pick some up on the way home to eat at a real table. Lunch looked busy (Wednesday) so I'd recommend getting their early - especially if you have more than 2-4 people. read more

Great place for lunch with a friend... Which is what I just did. Massaman Curry Chicken was my choice. I ordered mild. This is one of my favorite dishes for comparison and I think that it is as good here as anywhere. The place is small. It has a fast food feeling, but with good cooking. More like a breakfast food joint in atmosphere than anything. It has a window up from that opens to the kitchen. Apparently it's seat yourself since several groups did just that. Service was friendly. The waiter remembered my friends complicated instructions for his Green Curry dish, but they applied the modifications to the wrong base meal. Hard to call that a hit, but they pleasantly fixed the order. Lunch is served with a spring roll and cucumber salad (small)... I could see this being a favorite lunch spot for anyone in the area. Once a month, my wife and I meet her parents, my fab in-laws, halfway between ATL and Charlotte where they live, for lunch or brunch. We usually meet in ANDERSON, SC and choose one of the many restaurants off this particular exit to eat at. This time, we chose Thai Spice as our spot. When we got there, at lunchtime, the restaurant was very full and in fact there was only one table left for us. When we sat down there weren't any menus and no one came over to check on us for a few minutes. When the server did come over she took out her pad and started taking our orders. That's when we had to tell her we didn't even have menus yet. She was very apologetic and super sweet. We weren't mad at all, it just increased our wait time a bit and we were all starving after our drive. We first ordered Thai teas and they were so good! My father in law said it tasted like a milkshake! lol. Our food took a little while to come out but again, the restaurant was pretty busy during that time. But, what's great is that every order comes with its own included appetizer of a small spring roll and a little cucumber, carrot and onion salad. The spring roll was very hot, crispy and delicious and so was the salad. I liked the sweet and tangy dressing on it. The beef pad Thai I ordered was good, not spectacular, but good. Afterwards, my wife ordered a mango-sticky-rice and all four of us nibbled on it. It was sweet, creamy, tart and delicious and even though we were all full, a couple bites each hit the spot. When the bill came, the price was under $50 for all four of us including our shared dessert and drinks! Awesome! read more

Food gets 4.5 stars! Thai Spice Chicken and the lighter Nam Sod are my favorites. Friendly servers, but wish they would spend money on aesthetics to create clean lines and more inviting atmosphere. It is an unappealing space inside and out- but worth stopping. I love sweet heat - beware of "Thai hot"- that is crazy hot and I love a spice that makes me sniffle. An unavoidable accident with a young man delivering bonds in New York on bicycle who collided with her triggered an instant romance where she breached her agreement as a exchange student and married the young man Within the year. and has since remained and became a citizen of America. That's the background. When visiting us we decided to have some Thai food. We moved to Anderson in summer 2017. The first time we went to Thai Spice in 2017, I was surprised with their quality of food. The rice was very fresh and tasty. Thai tea tasted so good. So the restaurant became my favorite restaurant in Anderson. We went to Thai spice for birthdays, anniversary or whenever we wanted to. There were 3 times we went on Sundays and it was closed!!! So we finally make sure to call first if we want to eat there. My husband's favorite dish is Thai Spice Chicken and my favorite is Spicy Basil Mixed Seafood. I also tried Cashew nuts several times. As a basil lover, I tried Spicy Basil Noodles before. However, it was too oily and salty. I had difficulty finishing it. Ka Pow Chicken was loaded with salt too. Next time I will ask the chef to make it low sodium. Sometimes their dishes are too salty. Last Monday, we went to Thai Spice again because we called on Sunday and nobody answered the phone. I was excited to order Honey Roasted Duck. It was fried nicely and crispy but the duck meat still had a kind of smell. It seemed not very fresh even though it was marinated overnight. What disappointed us the most is the RICE! I couldn't believe the rice tasted like it was kept in the rice cooker for more than 12 hours. Rice has been my staples for more than 30 years, so I know if rice is fresh or not. Even my hubby could taste that it started to turn bad. I was so disappointed. We still ate the rice because our dish was salty. However, that was probably the least fresh rice I've ever had in 10 years no matter in USA or Asia. I guess Monday evening is not a good day to eat at the restaurant? Rice is not very expensive but it is very important in Asian Cuisine. Even though you forget the rice in the rice cooker for 3 or 4 hours (not continuing heating it), and put it into the refrigerator, you can still have nice rice the next day after reheating it. So I really don't know how they screwed up the rice like that.... It was a horrible experience but I still give it a 4 star due to the previous experience. Maybe next time I should gather up my courage and tell them what goes wrong. I hope the quality of food could be more consistent. read more

Had the Thai spicy chicken and I was worried the breading would be heavy on the chicken but it was extremely light. Ordered the medium heat and it was great for me. My brother in laws, new girlfriend told me to try Thai spice and she said it would be one of my new go to restaurants. Oh boy, she was right! I've never had Thai food before, but I wanted to try it out one day. I wasn't sure where to start so, of course I asked Sarah. She said the soups were really good and that they were spicy. Me being Hispanic, I love spicy food! I ordered the Tom Yum soup, it came with chicken breast and little mushrooms. It was indeed spicy but not too hot! I am here visiting my husband ( he is working up here) OMG..I have a sore throat so I told him I really would like some hot tea and maybe some soup. So he knows I hate chinese food so he mention Thai ...I love Thai Land food. This place...OMG the customer service was A+++++ times that. I order the Fried Tofu Appetizer (it was easy for me to swallow, It wasn't that fried just slightly brown) and I order some Green Hot Tea and Tofu Vegetable soup, Oh and for dessert we had Fried Banana Ice cream (My husband loved it)..He cleaned his food + dessert, I couldn't even believe my son also ate (toddler/picky eater) I just arrived here in Anderson, But I am so going back to this place before I leave next week. Really delicious. Way different than Thailand but I enjoyed it a lot! The waiter said I could order a Thai Iced Tea without cream and added some lime. It was amazing! We ordered fried dumplings (not super authentic but super good!) my picky 5 year old ate 2 of them. I ordered Laab and should have asked for it to be spicier but if you don't like it spicy, it's perfect! Husband got the cashew chicken (also not authentic) but it was also delicious. The dessert was mango and sticky rice and we are used to paying close to $12 where we used to live in Japan, so for less than $5, we thought it was a steal. The food is still good but slow service, forgot to bring my salad, waitress came back after she had written our order and asked us what we ordered. It was like that at every table. One couple got one dinner and had to reorder the second entree. One table sat for 15 minutes no menus, no water, nothing. This location has not had a successful restaurant yet.
