Hubby and I just got this delivered. Our dishes were delicious! I ordered the Pad Thai which isn't usually my choice, I typically go with curries, but it's been awhile since I'd had Pad Thai so decided to go for it! Did not disappoint! For sure hit the spot! Hubby went with the Spicy Ramen and he'll be ordering that again. We both got Thai teas, perfect compliments to our meals. Fabulous food!!! I've lived in several large cities and eaten a lot of very good Chinese food, Asian Kitchen is just as good as anything I've ever had. I'm disappointed that people are so concerned with the price, the quality of the food in my opinion is a steal for what you get. Please try this wonderful restaurant, the couple that owns the restaurant are very gracious and deserve the business. I've never had a bad meal here but I would suggest the golden sesame shrimp or any of the garlic sauce dishes. Fab food, great service. Yes the prices are a tiny bit high but you get such good quality and taste it is very worth paying a little more. If you're on a budget they have cheap lunch specials. Such a huge shame and disappointment. I would not recommend this re-opened restaurant to anyone. This place was China 1. When they were China 1 the food was awesome and the prices were reasonable for maximum quantity of serving sizes of food. I am 99% sure the same people who owned China 1 are the same owners. They closed for a couple of months to remodel and re-named it Asian Kitchen. With the remodel and name change, the food menu offerings have reduced immensely, the prices have tripled and the quantity or serving sizes of food you receive are half the amount of serving sizes.and the great taste of the food on the old menu was gone. I was totally disappointed and will not be back. We paid $9.99 plus tax for 5 (was supposed to be 6 Korean short beef ribs), The size of them we about 1" x 2" each with an 1" bone down the center and gristle throughout the meat. $4.55 plus tax for an order of 6 Shumai, (steam dumplings), which were the size of the tip of my thumbnail,$4.55 plus tax for an order of 2 Thai Spring Rolls that looked more like a mini sized spring roll and they tasted like they were made from frozen, (they also offer the mini sized versions on the new menu which cost $6.55 plus tax for 4). I also ordered the Chicken Thai Tom Yum Soup, (Thai version of hot n sour soup), and was told it was a quart size but received a pint size of soup @ $6.25 plus tax, (that is double the cost of a pint,(or $2.00 more than the quart size I used to buy from China 1), of hot n sour soup on the old China 1 menu from 2 months ago). We also ordered the 2 of cheapest entree items offered, The beef fried rice which had a few chips of diced onion and a few chips of diced carrot and diced scallion tops and had 5 thin slivers of beef about 1/2" x 1" in size. It tasted nothing like the beef fried rice we used to get from China 1 that was loaded with beef slices and veges. We also got the Thai Lo Mein with Chicken. It had about 8 small slivers of chicken and even less in veges than the beef fried rice, just a few sliced slivers of onion and 2 slivers of sliced mushroom. This was a takeout order with no added drinks or desserts. The cost was almost $50.00 with NO leftovers, (like we have always had in the past), for a 2nd meal for 2. We could have gone out and had steak or lobster dinners for 2 if we wanted to spend this kind of money. Never again will this place who apparently wants to pass the cost of their remodel plus added greed get a penny of my hard earned dollars for their new disgusting tasting menu/food. read more
