We used to really enjoy this restaurant but recently had a very different experience. It seems to be primarily takeout now, with minimal sit down service. Food was OK, but not great anymore - definitely not worth the 30 minute drive to get Thai food that we once enjoyed. 2 of the 4 mussels in my dish were dead/closed shells, and I chipped a tooth on mussel shell pieces that were in the food itself. We were there early, and sat and waited some time while many takeout orders were filled. I can say that the Fresh Rolls were delicious. I'm so glad this restaurant was recommended to me. It has now become my go-to close-to-home place to get Thai food. Have only done delivery from Door Dash and Pick Up. Haven't eaten in restaurant. Doesn't look like anything fancy as far as ambiance/decor but the food more than makes up for that. I had the Green Curry with Jasmine rice. The hubby had the Pad Thai. We both had Tom Kai Soup and shared an order of Crab Rangoons. All DELICIOUS!! The staff was very friendly, efficient and the food was prepared quite quickly. I rolled into Clemson on a Monday night, checked into my hotel, and then was off looking for a place to eat. I wasn't in the mood for a burger or a steak, so when my Yelp feed for Clemson showed that Bake and Cook Thai existed, I knew where I was going that night. Entering the restaurant, you are presented with what I have come to find to be the typical layout and decoration of a Thai restaurant. I was quickly seated and my drink order was taken, then I went through the menu as I normally do to get a feel for anything special about the place. I ordered up the summer rolls, the Tom Yum soup, and a red curry. For the curry, I asked for "Thai hot", not really expecting it to be all that hot since Thai restaurants in the US never seem to believe that I mean it. I was right once again. However, looking through the other posts about this restaurant this looks to be the status quo, and their "hot" is never really all that hot. The summer rolls came out and I started in on them. They were good, though they seemed a bit loosely packed. The soup came out shortly after and I dug into it. Most of the time when I get Tom Yum soup, it has a reddish color to it, but this one was more of a clear broth. Still quite tasty, and I enjoyed every drop. Finally the curry came out. As I said, it wasn't too hot, and I had to request extra chili sauce... it was about this point I think that my waiter realized I really wasn't kidding about the heat level I wanted. However, flavor was good, and that is just as important as the heat. My prolonged quest for a Thai restaurant that serves a truly insanely hot curry will just have to continue. read more

Our server was really nice, and attentive the bathroom was clean, but the good stops there. Pad thai smelled like dog food and had a funky taste. Tom kha was super fishy (not in a good way). Panang curry was mediocre at best. Rice was mush. Thai tea tasted like chemicals. It is unfortunate because a few years ago (old management and owner) this place was awesome! We tried Bake and Cook for the first time last night and it was FANTASTIC! This in not a quick serve place, Jimmy was the only waiter. He did a great job but with one server expect to wait a bit....... If you do you will be rewarded, the food and presentation was really spectacular! We started with the Spring Rolls and the Pot Stickers both were fresh, piping hot, and really yummy! For entrees my wife had the Ginger Fresh with shrimp which was light but with a delicious ginger sauce. I had the Pad Ka Pow with tofu and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The fresh veggies were crispy and flavorful. I added a little Thai seasoning and sriracha sauce to get the exact level of hot I enjoy. Jimmy was a bonus in that he was charming, helpful and engaging. I ordered the spicy fried rice and it was not even spicy. They claim that green bell peppers are spicy "not even close!" I then asked our waiter if I could have soy sauce for my fried rice and he told me no I had a choice of chili powder or hot sauce. WOW! What a nice surprise. We stopped in to have dinner before my nieces choral concert at SWU based on reviews and not a lot of choices by campus. This is now my favorite Thai place in all of North America. You can tell from your 1st bite that they use fresh ingredients. We had the fresh rolls which my boyfriend usually doesn't care for but loved them. We also had the Tom Kha soup which looked like it was going to be bland; it was far from it - it was so flavorful. We also had the basil noodles, the best I've eve had. The noodles melt in your mouth. The only negative is that they are so far from Greenville. We are moving to Seneca soon so will be frequently visiting. We already have my niece bringing us some when she comes home next week. read more

The food itself was really good and great value for the price. We got the wonton soup and fresh roll to start. The soup was great and full of flavor. I highly recommend it! We got the lunch pad Thai and lunch pad see ew for our entrees. My pad Thai was really good but I ordered it spicy and it had no spice to it at all. They do have hot sauce but I wish they would've made it spicy since they took the time to ask what spice level I wanted. My boyfriend liked his pad see ew but didn't think it was amazing. I enjoy coming here for lunch. The portion is generous and it's a good price. I usually get the pad Thai with either shrimp or tofu. They have mango fried rice which I haven't seen at most Thai places. I want to try it out sometime. The mango and sticky rice is seasonal but very good. If you're in the CLEMSON area and want Thai food, you should check this place out. However, I do wish the food was more flavorful.
