It's been a couple years since I've been to Thai Patio but I went here this evening and again, was not disappointed. Tristan, our server was amazing at giving me a really good recommendation. I got the red curry with shrimp and oh my GOSH! Amazing! So flavorful! It's nice a place in Mesa actually manages to encompass flavor and great service all in one ! And on top of that, the restaurant is super clean! The restrooms were spotless & im consistently impressed. If you are new to Thai food I would recommend because there's things on the menu that would be good for newbies trying to expand their flavor palette ! I previously gave this resturant a 5 star rating, but after going in when there was someone else in the kitchen and being told everything costs extra just because Ahni or Annie or whatever her name is was there, I'm changing my rating. I've never been disrespected so much after being a regular at a restaurant to the point where even staff I'm not familiar with know me by name. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant was deceptively small- it looks large from the outside, but it actually has very little dining space inside. I ordered that pad Thai with chicken. The other Thai restaurant I have been to have been really good at making the dishes presentable. This dish wasn't very presentable, but it did taste good. The chicken was a little too thin for me, causing it to curl up and be slightly rubbery. If the Chicken was sliced a little thicker and was presented a little better, it would have received 4 or 5 stars. Overall it was a good experience. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! The cook and host lady practically fought my friend and I for a tip! MIND YOU I PAID ALREADY and was running to my car to get my cash to leave the waiter a tip. After there little confrontation with me yeah no I'm not leaving no tip for the waiter. Let's get one thing straight any waiter that touches or taps your arm is just unprofessional! Would not recommend this place to anyone! The waiter seems as looks like she hasn't slept in days, walked over crazy just a very different vibe of customer service one I'm not used to receiving. Terrible. Will never eat there again. Portion size was minuscule. Water tasted like it came out of someone's pool. The sesame chicken was tough and the veggies had no sauce and had no taste. Tasted like they just came out of a pot of boiling water. They are also not inexpensive. I had the sesame chicken and water, no appetizer and my total including a 15% tip was $18. Went there for dinner tonight had pai Thai that was good had a panang curry and that was good but cold I asked for minced chicken for the spicy chicken basil and it was chopped with a little bit of minced and then we had a order of orange chicken that was disgusting it was dry it was disgusting we will never be back. read more

Tried this place for dinner tonight on their small outdoor patio, which was not crowded, so it was easy to social distance. Tried the fried tofu (sooo delicious), it was delicately crispy on the outside, and the tofu was soft on the Inside. Also had spring rolls, which come with a warm peanut sauce. My husband had the drunken noodles and I had green curry with soft tofu. The food was hot and perfectly cooked. I love it when I eat somewhere, and get exactly what I wanted. The service was efficient & friendly. This is my new favorite local Thai place for sure. read more

Sad Thai Roti While we used to enjoy Thai patio, we feel that the quality has gone down quite a bit. Also we normally prefer other restaurants. But one thing that is nice is that they are open when others are usually closed. So we went tonight. Ordered some chicken satay, which was pretty dry and over cooked, and came with some strange pieces of sandwich bread. The Peanut sauce was pretty good tho, as well as the Tom-Kah soup. The biggest disappointment of all tho was the "Thai sweet roti". We spent over a month is Thailand recently and fell in love with the roti, a delicious banana and egg mix, fried up and sometimes topped with chocolate and sweet condensed milk. You'll find a picture of that with my review. As well as what we got as their version of a Thai roti. Which, isn't a Roti at all. What they gave is is more of a sweet fried croissant, which doesn't taste bad, but it is NOT a Thai roti. So, if you're craving Thai food, and ALL the other restaurants are closed, you'll get some decent food here, but not a Thai roti. read more

I haven't found good Thai food in AZ until now. I have Thai almost exclusively when I go to Hawaii (I spend about 2 months a year there). I wasn't a fan until I had Thai in Hawaii actually. I Hilo Hawaii I found this great little place that made and amazing Tom Kha soup. They used slices of ginger, bay leaves, and lemongrass along with mushroom and tomato. Most places in AZ serve a plain, bland coconut broth so I don't order it. I could tell by the menu that this was going to be good but I hesitated about ordering the Tom Kha. I ordered the Green Curry with shrimp. This was hands down the best green curry i have had. This includes the 10 different Thai restaurants on most of the Hawaiian islands. I was so good I ordered dessert to go. This place has Thai staff in the kitchen which is also a good sign. It always amuses me to see Mexican help in the kitchen of an Asian restaurant. read more

It is difficult to believe that I haven't reviewed this place before. Time to remedy that! I've been coming here since they opened several years ago and I'm still a fan. Things have changed a bit over the years, but I think the quality of the food has remained the same, which is a good thing. The food is the best Thai I've had in NE Mesa, and the prices are awfully reasonable, especially for lunch at about $8 for the items on that menu. Note that the lunches are served with a salad or soup, but to go orders are always salad. I like spicy food and the curries seem to be on the milder side ("hot" is more like "medium" to me)... but "hot" for the soups without coconut milk in them can be like drinking fire. Maybe I have caught the soup on an extra spicy day. :) I really like their salad dressing and the spicy basil with chicken is excellent. I mostly get it to go, and it is usually hot and ready in the time it takes me to drive from my house. read more

My husband and I have ordered take out from Thai Patio two Sundays in a row. Normally, we have our favorite Thai place that we eat at which is not too far from our house but since that place is closed on Sundays and I was in the mood for a quick Thai noodles dish, I looked for an alternative on Yelp and found Thai Patio & I'm glad I did! Even though some reviews talked about the food being bland, most agreed that the noodle dishes were great. My husband and I are big fans of Pad See Eew beef and I love Pad Thai so yesterday we ordered just that for take out (Pad Thai chicken though) and my husband picked them up. The convenience in take out is great but I normally don't prefer it bcz I worry about the food arriving cold; not in this case though! Because the food is cooked fresh and the restaurant is very close to where we live, the food arrived super hot, I still had to be careful not to burn my mouth when I ate! Nice! We dug in and the pad see eew in particular was great (I ordered one last week too and it was really good). I had the pad Thai a little later and while it tasted very good, it was a little dry, probably my fault though coz I waited for a while before I ate it and I have noticed more than once that those rice noodles usually suck up the sauce very quickly. Nevertheless, both dishes were really good and fresh. We asked for the chili sauce to be on the side so we can control the level of heat, and their chili sauce was really good too! When we added it to the food it gave it a really great kick. I am so glad we found this place. Even though we have our favorite Thai restaurant, I think when it comes to those particular dishes, I have actually enjoyed them more here! Not to mention the fact that they open everyday particularly on Sundays & they are closer to our home. I will try different dishes hopefully in the next times but for now, I think this is my fav Thai place for our favorite noodle dishes! We'll be back! read more

My wife and I went there for dinner on a Thursday night. Lady server was quick to get us our waters and wines. I had the red curry with chicken. It was more like a soup but it was excellent. My wife had the Ginger Heaven with chicken. It was also very good. I would have given 4 stars but the food was served in takeout boxes. I did see a couple who must have been there before and they asked for plates and got them. The decor wasn't very appealing and there were a lot of people coming in for takeout orders. If you don't care about the decor this place is for you because the food was excellent. If you do go ask for plates. read more

I love yelp to help me find places around me when I'm not familiar with the area. We stopped here after taking the kids to urban jungle, It's a short 5 min drive away. We were so pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant! I was ravenous, so I ordered right away my regular go tos for my family. Pad see ew, pad Thai, yellow curry. We got there just before the lunch special was over. It ends at 3. I read complaints that portions were too small, it definitely looked small especially since I was starving. However, it was definitely plenty. It came with a small salad that was super greens not iceberg with a delicious dressing and an egg roll. All for $8! The pad Thai was one of the best my husband says he has ever had, the yellow curry was fantastic and not spicy. I asked for no spice. Sometimes it can still be when I've ordered it elsewhere. The pad see ew was the star of the show. We usually get that for the kids, but my husband who doesn't usually like it was all over it. It all had so much flavor, and I appreciated the extra little bit of sauce. It wasn't swimming in it, just the right amount that seeped to the bottom so every bite was saturated in goodness to the last bite. We will definitely be back. Service was great, food was prepared with love, but quickly (thank goodness), and the restaurant was clean. I love that it's an open kitchen and we can watch the cook in action. It was a one man operation in the kitchen. The amazing waitress was on it for refills and checked on us as she worked. She told us the cook is from Bangkok, Thailand and all the ingredients were high end and fresh daily. read more

Food is mediocre at best. Called 20 minutes ahead for pickup and they didn't start cooking my order until after I came in the restaurant and paid. Waited in the restaurant 20 min until they finished my order. Kinda defeated the purpose of calling ahead.... Got a nice "Sorry" though....Unless you have a physical dependency on eating Thai food I'd try your luck somewhere else although you're only going to find ok Thai food anywhere in Mesa. read more

My previous review needs to be updated because we recently had the courage to go back to this restaurant to find out if it was the same. I'm very happy to report it is much better! The front staff were a couple of young men with great customer service skills. I believe this has alleviated some of the stress on the owners/chefs who can now concentrate on what they do best - making good Thai food. I love their crab fried rice!! read more

My favorite Thai restaurant in the East Valley. Really good food, very good value for the price, especially if you order off the lunch menu. I've never had a bad meal here. Do be warned, however, that they are sometimes closed in the afternoon between the lunch and dinner rush. read more
