Came here for lunch and tried out two lunch combos. The combo comes with soup or salad and egg roll or wontons plus your entree. The soup was a cabbage chicken soup that was surprisingly good. I really enjoyed it. The entrees were more then enough for lunch. Actually boxed up leftovers. I had Panang Curry and it was good. Not the most flavorful I've had but it was still a decent example. The Pad Kha-Pow was good. The consistency was excellent and flavor good. Would have liked a bit more sauce but could easily ask for that in the future. The side items were good and included sweet&sour for dipping. Looking forward to going back and trying something else. Service was fast and friendly. Second visit here. The first was great with delicious food. This time it didn't go so well. Order spring rolls and received fresh rolls. We were OK with that because the fresh rolls turned out to be quite delicious. The big miss this time was with one of the main courses, it was supposed to be vegetarian and it came with meat - not a pleasant thing for someone who doesn't eat it. They did remake it (for to go because it was another 20 minutes) but to be honest since one of the two of us didn't get a meal I was a little taken aback when they didn't take it off the bill. The front of house was frankly is some disarray tonight and it really wasn't all that busy. A little disappointing I'm afraid from a service perspective. Not sure if we will go back again. read more

I live down the street from this place and have been eating there since they opened. They changed owners in 2020-21. Since then they have increased their prices and lowered their standards both with their food and customer service. Tonight I showed up to pick up a take out order and saw my food waiting for me, yet the woman took two phone orders and brought out 3 separate dishes to the 2 tables of 2 while I waited with my food sitting there behind the counter. The food is now too salty and too expensive. Couple that with terrible customer service and... Do not spend your money there, you'll thank me. read more

The egg rolls, wontons, and fried shrimp were just mehhhh. I would skip that next time. But the entrees? Those were good! I needed a little bit more kick/spice on my drunken noodles, but the flavor was good, portions were huge, and overall I was pleased. My dinner also came with rice which was your standard, perfectly cooked rice. It also was served with a soup which was good, but unlike any other Thai soup I've had. It wasn't coconut based or spicy. It seemed to have cabbage and the flavor was delicious, but again, it was different. I can't quite put my finger on it. Service was fine and prices were fair. I'd go back. read more

We've been here twice now in the past three weeks and I can't say enough great things about this place. First off, my friend is gluten intolerant and the chef here is so wonderful about making sure he orders things he can eat. She's even researched some of her ingredients online since we first dined here. The food here is so fresh and flavorful. We both love spice and order a "4" with 5 being the hottest. Drunken Noodles, yellow curry, and ginger stir fry are all excellent and full of fresh veg and FLAVOR! The service here is top notch, too. I lived in Salt Lake City for 54 years and only found this level of delicious Thai food one other time. Don't hesitate to eat here. This place used to be called Eastside Diner - which I was fond of at their old location, but never visited at the new one. After it changed hands (and names), I checked it out - the new owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the food is better than any other Thai place I've ever visited - and I've been to quite a few. I've tried most of their menu by this point and I've yet to be disappointed - everything has varied from "good" to "excellent"; and even the one time I didn't like something (their tea) the owner fixed the issue (apparently some of the staff were still learning how to prepare it), and now the tea is also the best I've had. I really can't complain about this place, and I am normally an incredibly picky person - even the prices are fair, considering the quality and portion size. They're also extremely kid-friendly, which makes them a good family meal option - but unless your kids eat like horses, don't get them all their own plate. They won't be able to finish it on their own. I'd also like to note that all the reviews (positive AND negative) prior to June of 2021 are for the old ownership/menu and don't really apply now. read more

Although their chicken broth is amazing, don't ask for vegan broth. Mine was tasteless and had no depth at all. The zucchini was frozen and not fresh. And when the server asked me if it was ok, I said meh, and she said "for vegan" I was quite annoyed. Vegan food is delicious and I order it by choice...the rich mushroom onion broths everyone is doing, the veggie ginger broths from Al-Chay, the spicy soy broth from Jinya all vegan and amazing rich flavor. I don't usually do reviews but I saw a good review on the vegan broth and that's why I tried this place all the way across town. read more

I'm running out of Thai places to visit and this is one of the few I think I hadn't hit yet. Inside is very small and the parking lot is a small as well and a touch on the unpleasant side. Menu looked to be very satisfactory, though, as nearly all of my favorites were included on it, including all of my typical most desired appetizers. All of this was good so far. I will note that service was horrendously slow, as it was mostly down to a single waitress, who was doing her level best and was very pleasant throughout. This is not the fault of anyone per se, just noting. Water also had a funky aftertaste to it. I gave up on it quickly and went with oolong tea, which was pretty solid. The spring rolls are huge, for spring rolls. Think maybe double the size of the typical spring rolls one will see. They were also somewhat sloppily made and at that size, kind of a chore to eat. These should be both more tightly rolled and about half the overall length, even if the dish itself goes to 4 rolls rather than 2. It comes with 2 sauces, which I liked the idea of, as I typically like to have both a nice sweet chili sauce and a nice peanut sauce. One sweet chili and one peanut sauce did indeed come with the dish, but only one of those sauces was nice and it was not the peanut sauce, which was rather ill. We also got the Chicken Satay, which was somewhat overcooked, though the flavor was fine. Again, with the trashy peanut sauce and the second sauce here was the cucumber onion mess that places seem to like to serve a lot. Fortunately, I still had enough of the nice sauce left over... For the main dishes, I went with Pad Sie Ew, which had an off flavor to it. I was able to make it acceptable by beating on it with soy, chili oil and dried chili powder, but I would definitely not order that particular dish here again. My companion fared better with his dish of Drunken Noodles. The food was ok, but really not much more than that. I would probably at least consider going here again, if nothing else for further menu coverage, but this is by no means a destination spot... read more

I came here on my lunch wanting to order something from their express menu. All the items did not look appealing. The guy that helped me said that the express menu items change daily. I was bummed that there was no pad thai today. I ordered anyways to give the place a try. I opted for the cashew pork and panang curry. Cashew pork wasn't very good. Panang curry had a good flavor BUT all the veggies were so soggy that I couldn't eat them. I like the idea of having an express menu but at the same time I don't know how long is TOO long to have food out. I'd like to try this place again and maybe order off their regular menu. read more

We got takeout of the fresh rolls. We ordered it with their peanut sauce. My mom got the shrimp and I substituted the shrimp for tofu. Their fresh rolls are HUGE and the peanut sauce is really good. Most peanut sauce is more peanut butter-y but theirs has more of a curry sauce with peanuts in it! Really good though, I'll definitely come back as it was one of my favorite sauces read more

We ordered take out. Guy on the phone was super nice and told me 15 minutes. I had my husband stop in his way home from work to pick it up. After sitting in the shop waiting for 30+ mins. With a customer coming in after he got there got food, he said something. Our food still took another 10 mins. 49 minutes from when we placed the order. We live only 2 miles away and the food was barely warm when my husband got it home. Egg rolls were ok, curry was good, ginger chicken was blah!! You can judge how authentic a Thai restaurant is by the chef. The new chef at Thai Palm is straight from Thailand, the Isan region, her cooking is the most authentic and as close to Thailand as possible. This food is the best in the Ogden/Salt Lake region and I'd know even, though I'm a "farang" I'm married to a Thai National so I eat real Thai food everyday, things that are off menu in typical Thai restaurants. read more

I'm at this restaurant right now. I came to eat their Thai-style beef and meatballs soup. Many places only serve the Vietnamese Pho style soup, which is OK, but Thai style is much better imo. The Thai soup should be steak, meatballs, fried garlic, bean sprouts, onions and noodles. The broth is usually boiled with beef,, onions,, cinnamon and other vegs and herbs. The noodles are served loose and cooked by dipping in hot broth just prior to serving.. It is always served with the 4 flavors, salty from fish sauce, sweet from sugar, sour from vinegar and heat from ground thai chilis. These are on side to add to your taste preferences. Unfortunately what I received wasn't what I ordered. More a vietnamese style, but still poorly made. Clear broth, no flavor, no meatballs, no fried garlic, no hint of cinnamon, noodles were in a huge fist-sized clump stuck together dumped into bowl. No sides for flavoring, had to ask for a small amount fish sauce, they brought me 2 small packets sugar, no vinegar and no thai hot peppers. It was served "Pho" style with one slice of jalapeño in the soup and a quarter of lime. Neither of which is usually found in Thai style noodle soups. All discussed with owner after meal. I was sadly disappointed with the dish. read more

Clean dinning room, friendly wait staff! I had the pho with a special request to substitute the noodles for shredded cabbage (cutting carbs) and added shrimp, it came out quickly and just as requested. It tasted great!! Veggies and add in's were extremely fresh! I definitely will return. read more

Really love the food here, the little salad you get with your meal with the house dressing is heavenly. The friend spring rolls are heavenly. The pineapple fried rice is heavenly. We decided to try this last night and OMG!! We just had our second child on Friday and we have been dying for some good food (unfortunately the hospital food is not great!) I have been craving Thai food, so the wife suggested we give it a go! We ordered the lettuce wraps (my new favorite lettuce wraps) and the red curry chicken! Had we know how much food it was going to be we would have not ordered so much since we have no way of keeping it here at the hospital, but I'm also really glad we ordered both dishes because they were both AMAZING! The lettuce wraps have a sauce that goes with them that is so good I want to bathe in it! The red curry chicken was just the right amount of spice and so flavorful! Traveling through the area, I was looking for filling nutritious food. I would not recommend this to anyone for quality Thai food. Poor overall quality, long wait time, overpriced. I ordered tofu spring rolls and tofu panang curry (spicy) with rice. The 2 spring rolls were huge, over stuffed and poorly wrapped (falling apart) with 90% shredded romaine lettuce and a single piece of tofu, served with a peanut sauce that was probably mostly peanut butter. I could have made better myself. The curry itself was spicy and included a few chopped carrots and zucchini and tofu. This was ok, the portion was decent. The expected wait was about 10-15mins but when I arrived there were people waiting and looking annoyed. I got the food 30+ minutes after ordering, during a week night hours before closing time. Paid way too much for the mediocre quality. Maybe it was a bad night. read more
