Tom Yum Soup was creamy and delicious.
Craig W.

There is a weird psychological phenomenon where the closer you are to something interesting, the less likely you are to visit it. There are people who probably live five miles from the Grand Canyon who have never seen it and probably think they will get around to seeing it one of these days. And then they die or move and never see it. I realize it is just a bit of a minor stretch to compare a Thai restaurant with the Grand Canyon but here we are. I have driven by this restaurant, sometimes multiple times a day, probably a thousand times in my life. I have heard many good things. I have just never visited until now. It is beautiful inside. The decor is gorgeous. The lighting is excellent. There is live music (in fact, very good live music during our visit). They have an insane happy hour, every day, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., I believe. There is a happening bar scene, if that is your thing. The food is solid. We tried the Tom Yum soup with chicken added (th soup was very coconut-y and creamy), the Pad Thai with shrimp (delicious), and the red curry with shrimp (also, delicious). The portion sizes were generous. The Thai iced coffee was very nice. My martini was fine. The chicken in the soup was not, in my opinion, of the highest of highest quality. And the martini, which was very normal sized (and I am talking about martinis, not anything else), was a very painful and un-normal-sized $19. That hurt a little bit. Service was friendly and homey and wonderful. Our water glasses were constantly re-filled and we were constantly checked up on. This is a delightful, lively restaurant and it has a lot to offer (decor, music, food, service, atmosphere). I am ashamed it has taken be far too long to visit. And, for what it is worth, I have visited the Grand Canyon, even though I live nowhere near it, and it is also wonderful. Also, unlike at Thai One On, there is no Thai food available at the Grand Canyon, so keep that in mind.

TomKah with shrimp is the way to go Hot and perfect for this overcast and Raining California kind of day. I tried all the appetizers so you don't have to. Golden flowers and half moon ton Yes- they're all winners Lisa-staff did a great job explaining I love the live music. Gentleman is a great singer. He has a variety of tunes on guitar and piano. Fun place to try

Live music

Great food and good portions too. I think this is my favorite Panang in San Diego county.

Delicious lunch specials, beautiful atmosphere, and nice vibe! We enjoy coming here. And best green curry I've had in San Diego.

Nice ambiance, delicious food, friendly staff. This is a good place for casual and not so casual lunch or dinner. We will be back for sure.

When you walk into the restaurant, you see all things Japanese, pop culture and drinks/snacks. You can get a canned/bottled drink, or around the corner, you can get a beer on tap or cocktail. You can get a menu from the counter and decide while you wait in line. The line moved fast. Then you take a number to your table. Most of their seating is outside, some in a covered patio. If you get a drink at the bar, you can sit at those tables. They had a big screen with the padre game on, no sound. I love tonkatsu, so I will say yes anytime anyone in San Diego wants to get ramen. I would say Gonzo does the toppings very well. The highlight was the chashu. The broth flavor was great, very deep, but personally I like mine a bit thicker, 8/10. If you like a thinner tonkatsu, this may be your favorite. The noodles were also very firm. When they brought our bowls, they offered a few extra sauces to make it spicier, they aren't just on the table. The staff was all very friendly and provided great service. Even two staff said bye as we walked out.

Great vibe, ok ramen, great karrage chicken, soggy pork belly fries…read more --- It's busy here, but they help you find seats. They ran out of high chairs, so I had had to hold my kiddo while eating. Fun... F O O D Ramen was subpar. We got the black garlic ramen and I didn't taste any black garlic. Nothing about the broth stood out to me. This feels more like the place you come to hang out and have a good time, but don't pay so much attention to the quality of food. Karrage chicken was good. Crispy, moist chicken dark meat. Adageshi tofu was good, but the amount was so small. $7.50 for what felt like 10 square pieces of tofu stacked on top of one another in ponzu sauce. My kiddo disliked the ponzu sauce. Tofu was rolled in tapioca starch and deep fried. Good I'm concept, but soggy with ponzu. And way too much ponzu sauce. D R I N K S Jarritos for $4.75 is overpriced.
