Great Thai food on the west side! If you're looking for gluten free Thai food, the staff is very helpful in pointing to safe menu items. The spice level is sometimes a bit inconsistent. I ordered a carry-out item at spice level 3 and it was way way way too hot for me. I might have sent it back if I was dining in. read more

My favorite lunch place. Always good! Hidden in a shopping center, but food is great. Hidden secret.

I don't live on this side of the town, just work over here at the hospital. I ordered food to go here one night to try it. The coconut chicken soup was pretty good, however, the chicken salad made my stomach hurt. It's hard to find restaurants like this that have good quality meat and this was no exception. The chicken was just not that great and the dressing just had a bad aftertaste. Also, my "salad" had about 6 small pieces of iceberg lettuce. It was more like a container of shredded chicken that just wasn't that great. I usually do enjoy Thai food, but I have definitely had better food than this. Green Papaya definitely has better quality food than this and is priced about the same. read more

Nam Tip is an interesting island in a sea of sameness. It's nice to find a neighborhood Thai restaurant in Cincinnati and it's more on par with places I've been in the San Francisco neighborhoods. I've been to Nam Tip about five times now, and any dishes I've ordered have been good. At spice-level 5, dishes are well within tolerable limits if you are accustomed to spicy food. The ingredients were very fresh each time. Sometimes I like to make a meal out of different appetizers, and Thai food lends itself to that, on occasion. The Thai iced coffee is very good here. The service is usually very good and friendly, too. read more

Ordered take out the first time I tried this place and the food was delicious, portions generous and priced well. Went back tonight for Thai and some sushi and was extremely disappointed with the portions. The rolls were smaller than standard. The waitress was not polite and forgot my husband's dish, did not apologize and was not pleasant at all. When I told the owner she did not even care. They lost us as customers for sure! read more

The food was not cooked that well. The lunch special has too much liquid like it is a soup. There are not much ingredients in the food. It is very basic and salty. It is over priced with small portions. Try a different place. More like a Chinese restaurant than a Thai restaurant. read more

Food is so-so. Sushi is smaller than expected from various restaurants around the area.

Slow service very cold by the window the food was fine. Nice people. Lite meat on the seafood dishes. Busy but not packed. Not much competition around here. read more

Great service. I had forgotten it was BYO until my Gpa said he brought a bottle of Syrah. The servers quickly provided our group with a corkscrew and glasses. Yes! I've had Namtip's food a few times and I have always asked for spicy (level 10+) and it is never even remotely spicy. I guess they are scared to actually bring the heat. Either way, I am glad that they have the 3 different spices in a serving tray and I can pump up the spice to inferno levels. On my most recent visit I had the Cashew nut stir fry and found it to be just ok. The pineapple provided a good sweet taste and the nuts added a nice crunch. I also had the coconut and chicken soup (Tom Ka) and it was very nice. So, service is great, food is average and prices (particularly lunch) are reasonable. Parking is ample. read more

For a Westside Thai restaurant, this place is a pretty rare commodity. I probably wouldn't choose to eat at this particular restaurant if not for its location (I was meeting a friend and it is almost exactly halfway between where each of us lives). In fact, I even felt adulterous; that I was cheating on my favorite Thai place, Mekong Thai Cuisine. I was surprised with its decor, as it's not nearly as barren as its Asian fare counterparts. It actually wasn't gaudy, either, and I'd even venture to say it was a reasonably pleasant atmosphere. My friend and I opted for a couple of appetizers and to share an entree. In my honest opinion, it's extremely difficult to mess up anything deep fried, but I will say that I was extremely impressed with both the Crab Rangoons and Pot Stickers (as well as the respective dipping sauces). I'm accustomed to pork-filled pot stickers, but instead, these were pan-fried and filled with minced chicken and vegetables. (My mouth is actually watering as I think about the latter.) Conversely, I wasn't entirely impressed with the dish we decided as our entree. Maybe I really am too partial to Mekong, but the flavor in the Namtip Thai Spicy was just OK. I consider myself middle-of-the-road as far as spice level goes, but the 5 (out of 10) here was a bit too spicy for me. For what this place is (a Westside Thai restaurant), it isn't bad. If only for the Pot Stickers, I will definitely consider trying Thai Namtip again. I will just be sure to try a different entree at a lower spice level. read more

This place used to be so BOMB! Unfortunately the quality has gone downhill since the Thai folks stopped running the place. The Thai people are the face of the place but the menu, cooking and and business are all ran by folks that are not Thai. FOODIE RULE#1: DONT EAT AT ETHNIC PLACES WHERE THE PEOPLE MAKING THE FOOD ARE NOT OF THE SAME ETHNIC BACKGROUND AS THE ETHNIC FOOD YOU ARE PLANING TO EAT! EXAMPLE: Thai food made by white people. Sushi made by Mexicans etc. we both ordered seafood soup and it came out in the smallest bowl ever. For $6 I was expecting more. The food was decent but not close to the level it was years ago. What a let down..... I would write more but it'll just get worst and worst and worst.... read more

I work in the area but don't live here. I am happy I finally found a great Thai place I can go to for lunch. Ordered take out Pad Thai and Crab Rangoon. So good! Very friendly and clean restaurant! The prices are great and I also got a free spring roll with my order read more

Great food with friendly service. Unbelievable sushi!!! If you want high end food at a reasonable price try this restaurant. The only thing I don't like about it (sarcasm) is my 5,7and 10 year old boys love it which ends up making me spend a lot more money than the normal kid favorites but their prices are so reasonable it lets me eat there more often. I actually love that it's my kids favorite restaurant. read more

Great Thai food. Pad See Ew has a great grilled flavor. Spring rolls are excellent. Will definitely come back. They don't serve alcohol, no biggie. Service is also top notch! read more

We have eaten here a few times now and each time the food has been very delightful, the service is really good and the price is a little up there, but not outrageous. I see that many of their downgrades are for the lack of heat, but while their food is not raging hot, it is spicy and certainly not bland. Certainly a good choice for something a little different if you want good quality. read more

My wife and I have come there for years. Food is good and fresh but past year or so the service has steadily worsened to the point where we're unlikely to come back. Mistakes happen but the could not care less attitude by the staff is difficult to accept. read more

Excellent food and very very friendly staff I wish they take amex but i know ex charges a lot more to businesses than other credit cards so I understand. I never seen friendlier staff in a restaurant than here. Sushi is excellent, Thai food is excellent, portions are great.. - THEY HAVE BROWN RICE! They will be happy to do sushi with brown rice if you like. read more

Stopped at Thai Namtip after a day trip to Cincinnati with my brother. We both really enjoy Thai and selected this place due to the high number of good reviews. 3 stars is described as "A-OK" and that is really all I can say about this place. They have a decent menu selection with pretty average pricing. I ordered the Chili Fried Rice and was disappointingly underwhelmed. I opted for a "medium" heat which left me begging for more in spice and taste! I was glad I held onto the sweet and sour sauce we received with our Golden Bags appetizer to give this dish some flavor. If I ever make it back into Thai Namtip, I'll be sure to kick it up a notch and go for a 10 in heat to see if that gives their dishes the powerful punch I'm accustomed to! read more

I actually haven't been here in quite a while, but it's still my current favorite Thai place in Cincinnati (unfortunately, my old favorite closed down). Their dishes are delicious.. I usually go for the Pad Thai, and it's perfect and they're great about making things spicy if you want them that way. They've also got great Thai Coffee! read more

Fantastic food. Great service. My favorite is Chicken Ramrong. Their soups are amazing.

Best Thai food on the West Side. We dine here regularly. Sushi is very good as well. Always quick and service is good.

I've had two great meals here. Yellow curry is excellent: rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Chicken Ramrong is so tasty, with an excellent peanut sauce that's both sweet and savory. I've also heard the pad thai and sweet and sour were excellent. Staff are very friendly and follow health and safety guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. read more

The best Thai food I've had in cincinnati... their service and quality is consistent each time I eat there.

SO GOOD. Been coming here for a couple years now & they keep getting better & better. Definitely a hidden gem. I came here for lunch at 3ish (I completely forgot that they close at 3 & reopen at 4:30) & they still let us dine in! Super kind staff. 10/10 read more

I have eaten Thai from NYC to San Francisco and even a time or two in Manila, so I understand that the cuisine, like most others, has regional differences depending on where in Thailand the chef learned to cook. I know that the menu is often skewed toward local American diners' tastes as well. I take all of this into consideration before I pass along my take on a particular restaurant's menu. I can say that since moving to the Cincinnati area 12 years ago, this is the first time I have uttered the words, "We'll be back." I'm not sure who or what other diners were eating that complained about lack of heat or too much sweetness, but I have a hard time seeing that in Thai Namtip's food. Today, we ordered soft crab with ponzu as an appetizer. I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay and have actually watched the pens for shedders, so when I tell you these soft crabs were fresh and fat, full of sweet, meaty goodness, you better believe it is not praise easily won. The crispy, light coating was perfect and adhered to the crab, which is a trick few ever master. The ponzu was balanced, neither salty, tart or sweet, but a combo that complimented the crab in all the right ways. We also shared the chicken ramrong which was a delight. Vegetables were obviously fresh and crunchy as they should be, not overcooked and limp. The peanut sauce must have been homemade as we could taste the ingredients and it clung to chicken, vegetables and rice without overpowering them. It had surprising heat for a 3, but my husband supplemented with pepper oil, which was amazing. Thin, tender slices of chicken sealed the deal. Last on the savory side was the Choo Chee Duck. I must confess to being both a duck and pineapple lover---and snob. Nothing will make me put down my chopsticks faster than tough bird or stringy pineapple. No fear as both were delicious-- and the broth? I could have almost drank from the bowl. The hardest part was having to put down our forks and take the leftovers home. Quick thinking on the part of my husband supplemented the take-home with black rice pudding and mango in sweet rice. I can't comment on either, as we're saving them for my birthday breakfast tomorrow. I cannot leave a review without commenting on the service, which was quick, attentive and friendly. To be honest, I feel as if we came away having made a new friend in our waitress, Toye, who, as it turns out, lives quite near to us. We loved our food and our experience, in no small part due to her input. All in all, a wonderful meal and one that goes on my list of great examples of Thai food, right up there with Pam Real Thai in NYC's Hell's Kitchen. That translates as DAMNED GOOD THAI in my book. read more

So so so delicious!!! The chicken drunkin noodles are to die for, and the spring rolls are homemade, easily the best I've ever had! Every time I have been in there, they were making something different homemade. I've watched them stuff spring rolls, cracking crab legs, and rolling fresh sushi! But please, if you are ordering take out.. Ask for plastic containers. They generally use styrofoam, and because their food is so hot and fresh, it tends to melt the styrofoam. Making your delicious food taste like melted plastic! But definitely eat here!!! I wish they delivered! read more

This restaurant never disappoints. It's one of the only non chain restaurants near my house so it's a go to when we don't mind spending about more. My husband would eat their spider rolls every day. Their sushi always tastes fresh and is made to order. I go between the pad Thai, chicken fried rice and the cashew chicken. All are exceptional and can be modified to my liking. For appetizers their chicken satay and their spring rolls are amazing as is the sauces they are served with. They know my husbands order by heart and will say "Hello Matt" when they realize that it's us who are ordering. read more

I only started eating here last year. I was a boring bland eater with anxiety about food I didn't know. Then I met Thai Namtip! My daughter introduced me to drunken noodles which I love but I recently tried other dishes and everyone of them have been amazing. Thai basil is my new favorite flavor now. Thai Namtip is my favorite restaurant anywhere. I can't get food this fresh, natural and flavorful anywhere else for the same price. The dining room is relaxing and the waiters are always helpful and pleasant. read more

This experience was a total night-ruiner. Unfortunately, as a local business owner myself who runs his business on friendliness and charisma, I can say that this entire staff is undoubtedly responsible for the empty dining room we walked into around 8:30pm on January 11, 2016. We had gone out to celebrate my wife's new job. About the experience... We were greeted with an unwelcoming attitude regarding the time the restaurant closes, which was 55 minutes from the time we hit the front door. We were not welcomed or asked how many were in our party. The server then proceeded to grab menus and not say a single word and lead us directly to a table right near the cold front door. She immediately walked away. When she returned, she reiterated the closing time with no friendliness whatsoever, while holding her notepad in her hand, ready to take our order. Approximately 60 seconds after we gave her our order, she was walking back to the table with our order of spring rolls, which were still frozen solid in the middle and clearly the result of a staff that was only interested in getting out of work as quickly as possible. When we politely let another staff member know about this, this staff member walked away without acknowledging a word we had said. Approximately ten minutes after our food arrived at the table, the spring rolls were brought back out by yet another staff member, who showed zero remorse for the frozen spring roll order. She dropped them carelessly on the table and walked away. The next time we saw another staff member, it was the original waitress dropping our check on the table from approximately four inches in the air, letting it slam on the table. She then walked away without a word. This is a new business model I'm still trying to figure out. Make your customers feel completely unwelcome, exaggerate the closing time, make the food taste like a bag of frozen asses and vehemently avoid apologizing at all costs, then charge an outrageous amount for your food. Got it. read more

Our favorite place to get delicious Thai carry out. Vegetables are always cooked just right and not too mushy.

The restaurant is really cute on the inside. The service was excellent and the food was incredible! I would recommend this place to anyone!

The pad see ew here is incredible!!! I have been going here for years and am never disappointed. Would highly recommend :)

My favorite place for Thai in Cincinnati! I suggest the southern stir fry, sweet and sour shrimp soup! Sushi is good too.

This was actually the worst sushi I have EVER had in my life. Ordered the super crunch Crab roll and emerald roll. First I was disappointed by the appearance. For an $11 roll the pieces were tiny. Then came the taste. I took one bite, spat it out. I tried another, it was just as bad. I threw it directly in the trash. $20+ wasted. It was all rice and tasted like it had been in the fridge for hours. Worse than the pre-made sushi you get at grocery stores. If you want sushi DONT COME HERE! read more
