Just moved here from an area that had some really authentic and great Thai food and was looking for something in our new home. Thai Koon wasn't bad at all. We tried a number of typical thai dishes...and all weren't bad. The drive through around the building is odd...but that's the way we did it after we tried to sit inside and were told they were only doing drive thru. Also...had some fun when we went to pay. Apparently cash will give you a discount or credit card has an upcharge or something like that. Seems like a very amarillo thing..this whole cash discounts. I paid with cash since I had it, but I typically don't, so do be aware of this odd cash/credit thing. Will probably try again? read more

A gem! My mom used to bring me here when I was younger. It's still just as amazing as I remember. The service was great, and it was nice and quiet. The food is to die for. The spring roll was crispy, and the sauce was delicious. My pho was so flavorful, and the portion was filling! When I'm craving some good Thai food, Thai Koon is my go to! read more

first off I ordered the lemon chicken and it didn't come with lemon sauce. They gave me hard they overcooked it way too much.

Don't let the outside stop you. It may not look like much, but I was promptly greeted and was taken care of. They have a large menu and my portion was plenty! They have a very busy drive through. The sign on the door says no dine in after 3pm. read more

If the atmosphere here was a little bit lively, and have an actual lit up sign outside, they'd probably get more business. I hope the server smiles more, he was a nice man. Standard fare & you probably know the menu. Really done right basic Thai fare. Fast-call in your order, put your pants on, and zip through the drive up and your piping hot food is ready. Friendly staff. Could be a bit spiced up, but there's always hot sauce on the table. Spring rolls are excellent. Bring in $10 and you'll leave food on the table. read more

I was looking for something close to work to eat. The first thing that you see on the front door, their food service report card on the front door, should have been the clue to not go in. They had an F , and was upgraded to a 80. Food was not super great, Fried rice had no vegetables and the sweet and sour sauce had not vegetables as well, it had lumps in it! Portion was good sized, but trying to over come the poor grades from the health department are hard to swallow. Do Recommend. read more

We are used to driving to far Amarillo Blvd. East for great Thai food but decided to try Thai Koon instead. It's still a drive (way South on Western near City View, in an old Circle K), but well worth it. The service was friendly and fast, and the food was served piping hot and spicy, as ordered. The Summer Rolls were not quite as good as they are at Thai Palace or Ly's, but the Pad Thai surpassed my former favorite at Thai Diamond! The Pad Kee Mao had lots of fresh basil and broccoli and was very tasty. The Beef Jerky with Sticky Rice was as good (or better) than any other place in Amarillo- the spicy fish sauce was made up to order. We can't wait to visit again. read more

Close to home and they are fast at putting out your order i often call in and pick up my tahi from here and its very good, my favorites being the jerkey and stickey rice as well as their sweet n sour chicken. Extremely unsanitary... The waiter was in the server station eating his own food there in plain sight of all the customers. He didn't even bother washing his hands before touching our plates. We were completely disgusted. This used to be our favorite place to eat with my grandmother who we only get to see once or twice a month. I am wanting to report this to food management. Being new to Amarillo my husband and I are always looking for new places to eat. We love the food here at Thai koon. We have tried quite a few places around town and always find ourselves coming back. We mostly get take out when we eat here. If you're looking for ambiance this place isn't it. Tried to call this place on several occasions to place an order for carry out. They leave phone off hook. Went inside and placed order and paid for it and they didn't give me my change until I stood there and had to ask for it! Making me feel like the jerk when they tried to keep my money. Everything we have had has been very good. We usually go at least once a month or more. It is a little odd in that the plates are brought out of the kitchen as they are finished instead of waiting until everything is ready. Spring tools are wonderful, Goo See Mee is outstanding but I have not had anything that wasn't really good. read more
