Solid 3 stars. Had the Spicy Chicken Cashew with fried rice. Mixed it all up and was very tasty. Not skimpy on the chicken, either, plenty of meat. Nice dining area, though I got mine to go. I wasn't overly impressed but wasn't totally unimpressed, either. They have a huge menu with a lot of options. May upgrade to 4 stars later. And the place was fairly busy for a Tuesday. read more

Went in for lunch - service was an issue. It wasn't busy and it took quite a while for my server to come by once seated. When went to pay I stood at the register for 5 minutes before I was able to check out. The lunch dish with a soda was $12 and relatively flavorless. It has been several years since I have been there and the service used to be quite a bit better, the portions were larger, and the flavor was much better. I was pretty disappointed. There are better options in Canyon IMO. read more

Not recommended by this traveler/customer! We travel the 48 States eating in various restaurants and we love Thai restaurants. This one will not get our business again. Whoever the guy was that said this is a 5 star place does not have any idea of what good flavorful asian food should taste like. The food was tasteless (Seafood Delight was mine) and the place was buzzing with people if Canyon TX? Go figure? If that Chief from the TV program came there the taste their food--his comments would not be nice. So if in Canyon TX, pass on the Thai Kitchen restaurant. Ok, you have to realize this is Canyon, Texas. Almost all of the easily found Asian food places are very americanized. If you want something more authentic, find a place in Northern Amarillo. I am sure this place sells more chicken fried rice than any other entree on the menu. They know their customer base and they cater to them. That being said, they have some more authentic items on the menu and off menu. If you want it truly that spicy, you will have to ask and convince the waitress that you know what you are asking for. This is a mainstay place in Canyon, serving consistent food at reasonable prices. A must have on Tuesday and Thursdays with the college crowd for the $5 fried rice and a welcome place to have some veggies in the land of burgers, BBQ and fried chicken. read more

My boyfriend claims that having tomato in the fried rice makes it vastly superior to other fried rice. I beg to differ. I would prefer the food court kind over this chunky stuff. The rest of the food was ok. I had the pad Thai, which was pretty much all noodles; I wish there had been more veggies since I didn't get any meat. (Not to mention it didn't sit very well on my stomach.) I feel like Asian food is usually more veggie friendly, but then again this is Texas and people become perplexed if you tell them you don't eat meat. read more

The food is delicious and the service is great! The price for these dishes are not expensive at all! The place was packed, there were people waiting to be seated, (not long maybe 3 minutes tops), people came by to pick up their orders. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone! I've lived all over the state of Texas and I've yet to find Thai food as scrumptiously yummy as Thai Kitchen. It's nothing fancy, but the food is fantastic. I'm a simple beef fried rice kind of girl, but I've never had better than what I can get at TK. They have plenty of other delicious dishes to choose from, and they are always willing to customize your order if there is something you would prefer left out or added to the dish. Do not listen to the negative reviews. This the best Thai place in the Canyon/Amarillo area! I've tried over a dozen around here and this is my favorite. The pad thai is the best and always has plenty of meat, unlike another reviewer stated. You can get it with pork, chicken, beef, or seafood (shrimp, crab, and scallops). The crab cheese wontons, egg rolls, banker special, pad cee u, sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork, wonton soup, and chow mein are also standout items. Despite the staff being nice and the restuarant being clean, the food was not that great. I loved the appetizers, the spring rolls and a chicken dish, but the main dishes were terrible. The Pad Thai was inedible. It tasted like wet dog smell. Yuck. If you must go, just eat appetizers. read more

The staff is friendly, the food is excellent and cooked fast and to order. They have the best eggrolls in town hands down. If you like a bit of spice and the best noodle dish they serve, ask for the Udon Noodle Combination. It's to die for. read more

My wife and I had diner ordered spring rolls but got egg rolls instead than we had soup but were told that there was no soup spoon we pushed the waitress and she said that we were lucky because she found a spoon in the kitchen, than we were told not to steal it the pad tai was below any standard almost only sticky nuddles the thee pot was not usable without spilling thee all over I was offered some one else their bill which had several items which we did not have I had to speak up to get things corrected all in all a very disappointing experience do not go there read more

I'm not sure why this gem only has an average rating of 3/5 because it's a solid 4.5/5 (I rounded up to 5 for my review) as far as I'm concerned. I stop by here a lot on my way home. My wife swears their chicken fried rice is as good or better than My Thai in Amarillo and I agree. No nasty yellowish-tint food coloring fried rice at Thai Kitchen (or My Thai) for sure. Their Pad Thai is way above average, too. Everything we've had here has been good or better. read more
