My best friend, Bangkok, and I have been in the mood for Thai food for several days, but unable to find a Thai restaurant. This evening, we found three w/I a quarter mile (plus an Asian market). We chose Thai House. Good atmosphere. Bangkok said he'd love to take his wife here. I ordered Thai iced coffee, which they didn't have. They also did not have Thai iced tea. Not a good start. We ended up splitting ten wontons w sauce. Excellent. In fact, for me, the highlight of the dinner. B ordered chicken and broccoli. He enjoyed it. My Mongolian beef was ok, but very different from "that national Chinese chain". The fried rice was good, the beef was gray w little kick. The kick, however, was provided by large jalapeno pepper halves, some w seeds. Not sure when my jaw will recover, but am praying. As I also had jalapenos in an omelet at lunch, I have now consumed my yearly allotment of these precious little devils. BTW, prices VERY reasonable. Oh, and my fortune cookie: "Your dreams will come true in August." Am serious. As fans of the Brooklyn Dodgers used to say, "Wait til next year." 3.5 stars read more

Food is excellent, price is perfect. Went in the evening and it was busy and the service was great. Ambiance was shady at best. Next time will be take out or go for lunch. read more

Food was bangin one of the best pad Thai I have had . Will return from another state !!!

My family gets Togo here literally once a week. Best beef jerky sticky rice in town. Jerky is tender, thinly sliced perfection. I HAVE to have their fish sauce to go with it. Best flavored fish and tomato sauce I've ever had in my time traveling elsewhere in the country. Nothing compares to Thai house. Authentic and great atmosphere to relax, eat your heart out, and play some pool. Staff is always super attentive. Ordering Togo for over 2 years weekly, my order has been correct every single time. Give them a try, thank me later. read more

Great quick service for take out. Ordered Jalapeño chicken and summer rolls. Was a great experience.

I wanted to eat Pad Thai so found this place. The location was easy to find from highway. I ordered by phone ahead of time for a takeout and it was ready when I arrived. Very prompt service. I like their menu- colorful and appealing. Variety of dishes at good price. I requested additional veggies for my Pad Thai for extra $1.50. Good portions and tasted ok. read more

This place is a dump. Bad service and rude staff. Rundown and smells awful in there. Food is terrible.

This is pretty much the best Thai food in town. I've been coming here for years and the food gets better and better. The restaurant is located in a little neighborhood I grew up in so I always see familiar faces when I come and eat here. One complaint though are the waitresses. Plan on waiting at least 15 minutes if you want a refill. The place could use a little renovating but due to their busy schedule of being open 7 days a week and opening until 2am I doubt any upgrades in the near future. read more

Out of ever restaurant in Amarillo this has to be my favorite!! All food is amazing, they serve huge portions! It stays busy, all food looks great and tastes fresh when served! read more

Ok people of Texas this is THE best PHO restaurant in the country! I have lived all over and know my PHO. I thought Boston and LA had the best until I found this gem. If u are new to PHO order the chicken PHO and add their homemade chilli sauce with all the accoutrements given to finish the soup. You will be very very happy. The fact that this dinner with two cokes costs under $12 bucks is astonishing. Thank u thank u thank u Thai House! read more

We visited Thai House to eat the pomegranate duck. It was delicious. The subtle flavor of the pomegranate and the richness of the duck were an amazing combination. This is also one of our favorite spots for sticky rice and beef jerky. If you would like to see a video review on our YouTube channel, you can see it here: https://youtu.be/MBUnMOzRTnA read more

Fast service for our call in order. Large portions, good flavor, reasonable prices. Would love to visit again after COVID. Great little place in Amarillo!! read more

I was concerned about this place at first because it looks very run-down from the outside, but the food is good. I got the chicken PadTai with extra veggies (for $1.00 more). My friend got Beef Lo Mein which she said is very good. The servings are large and the prices are reasonable. read more

1 review 3 minutes ago We had ordered a combination fried rice with no onions and we got the plate with onions. After telling them they returned the plate and they basically just picked the onions out and refried causing a burnt taste! When eating we still found onions in the plate. The food just wasn't like before. We definitely will not be coming back! read more

This was one of the worst meals (of any cuisine) I've ever eaten. Yelp, you let us down. The food was bland and tasted "off." We stopped eating a few bites into the meal because we were worried about getting food poisoning. I seriously don't know how this place got five stars from other customers. read more

I love this place so much! And it's such a contradiction. A huge, spacious, basically clean place with cheerful lighting that still manages to feel like a sticky, smoky, dim little hole-in-the-wall. Best of both worlds? Yes, I think so. I like places that feel divey, or even slightly sketchy, and this place certainly does -- while also having friendly waitstaff, multiple payment options, good pool tables and loudy, happy patrons. Oh, and the food ain't too shabby, either. Generous portions that seems to veer into Laotian territory rather than being strictly Thai, so maybe not 100% authentic. Not so much of the crisp veggies and bright plum flavors that come into play at more cosmopolitan Thai places in bigger cities. I'm fairly certain you can chalk that up to a more northern influence? Less of the southern Thai, ultra fish-driven stuff. Kind of a... downhome mix of a lot of Southeast Asian favorites? And gambling. That's how you know it's legit. It's also worth noting that this restaurant is part of a magical trifecta of awesome restaurants in Amarillo that are all located in the same strip mall. I am talking about the nearby African restaurant and the Vietnamese joint. It's like one-stop shopping for badass food. read more

It's a pretty sketchy place, but we all just got back from our snowboarding trip, and this little place showed up on our map, and we were craving Thai food, so it was all a coincidence! Beef Panang w/ steam rice medium spicy . rice is a bit dried. the Panang was a bit salty. the tomatoes are fresh. beef is cooked to perfection. the spice is just right. overall it was an okay entree Thai tea (LG)- usual Thai places they provide just a regular 8oz. cup of Thai tea filled with ice and consider that as a large Thai tea. but this restaurant means business- when they mean large it's a large styrofoam cup filled with Thai tea- and their Thai tea is good!!! A++ on this drink! Lard- in English: Lao's Salad. this salad was filled with flavor- a bit spicy but just the perfect kick. everyone on our table loved it- it was a perfect appetizer but still a lot for an appetizer cause I was full before my entree came out- and I shared with 7 of my friends which each just took a bite- of course my boyfriend ate the rest. papaya salad- LOVED IT! And not a lot of places does it right, but this place does! Has the extreme kick to it where you'll be gasping for water, but so good that'll make you want more of this salad! pad kee Mao (combination)- a good amount of ck, bf, and sh. the first bite is an explosion of flavor and spicyness in the mouth. it's probably the best pad kee Mao I have ever eaten the noodles are NOT dried- they're so slippery that they just slip right through my chopstix- and it's not because the entree has too much oil nor is it because I don't know how to hold my chopsticks. lol read more

It was ok, I ordered the Chicken Curry and didn't say anything about how hot. It came crazy hot! The peppers where jalapeño's with seeds everywhere. Probably won't try again. read more

A friend took us to dinner here and we were pleasantly surprised! He ordered a ton of stuff and it was all good. I had a stir fried dish with duck, veggies, and rice and it was very good. My wife had crispy noodles (I've seen it called Mee Krob at other places) and enjoyed it. Our friend ordered a huge bowl with a fish soup with veggies and a citrus like broth which is served over rice and it was awesome! He also order fried quail, shrimp, and oysters, which were all good. The restaurant itself is very big and a little divey, but we had a great time! They also have some electronic gambling machines and a full bar, so there are a lot of regulars who just seem to hang out here. Recommended! read more

Thai House - Overview. - Thai Near Me - Amarillo, Texas

My favorite Thai place in town. The pad kee mao is amazing and the pho is incredible. I will keep coming back to support the great food they serve! read more

Finding authentic Thai food in Amarillo is like remembering what you were laughing so hard about when you're stoned. Damn near impossible. I decided that I had to give Thai House a shot after hearing that a couple Lao kids I work with play video slots here until one in the morning and that a (naive) white kid I work with was afraid of getting stabbed here. I decided that if I was going to find authentic Thai food in Amarillo, this was all or nothing. It was mostly a success. Though it bills itself as a Thai-Chinese restaurant like every other Thai place in Amarillo (god I hate this stupid fucking town,) the menu was mostly Thai with a couple of Chinese dishes - the opposite of most places I've visited. Walking in for the first time was a bit odd. I was expecting a dark smoky hole-in-the-wall and brought cash cause I wasn't sure if they would accept credit cards (they do, it turns out.) It was actually really spacious and bright with lots of over-sized fans and tapestries on the wall, as well as the infamous video slots, a jukebox with Thai music and a couple pool tables. Kind of half bar, half restaurant. I decided to try the beef kra pao (I have no idea what the defining characteristic of kra pao and the menu doesn't say what goes in to each dish, but I remember seeing it on a couple other menus and it sounded good.) It had a rich basil taste but not much other flavor. I added a little splash of Hoisin sauce, which helped a great deal (they've got Hoisin, Sriracha and some homemade chili sauce that smelled like vinegar as table condiments.) It also had small, round, green eggplant in it, which I've never seen before (extra points for that.) All in all, pretty damn good for $5.50 (making it the cheapest Thai food I've encountered.) I also ordered a large Thai ice tea, one of my favorites. I was a pleasantly shocked when they brought me out a 32 oz. cup styrofoam cup. It was only $2.50!!! That's almost worth the drive out to the East Boulevard by itself. I give the place 4 stars because the food wasn't as good as I was hoping, but I will most certainly be back to try other dishes. Maybe the next visit will boost it up to 5 stars, cause it does have that potential. And I'm curious as to what the place is like at one in the morning. read more

The most delicious and authentic Thai food I've had in years. We ordered the pad see ew, pad thai, and summer rolls, with thai iced tea. Everything was delicious and affordable, and the woman serving us was very friendly. I'm so glad we found this place! read more

This is my favorite Thai restaurant. I have searched Hawaii and Portland, Oregon for a sticky rice & beef jerky plate, but have had no luck in comparison to this location's treat! Great price, authentic, and I love their spicy dipping sauce. read more

Great portions, great food, great service, great prices! Diamond in the rough.

This is not a classy fancy pantsy place by any means, but it is the bomb. I have been eating here for 15 years and now that I live in Dallas I make extra effort to eat there every time I'm in town. It is truly authentic Thai/Lao food and I've never had a bad meal. Plus its super cheap! read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! This is the real deal. The food is so good, you'll cry. Yes, it's in a sketchy neighborhood and you're not sure if your car will still be parked out front after you finish eating, but it's well worth the risk. Imagine a down home no-friils dive place in the middle of nowhere Thailand. Now imagine that teleported into Amarillo. Add in some random Nascar posters and a collection of somewhat shifty characters and you got this. read more

Tried the beef jerky with sticky rice and the beef pho. Personally not a fan of the meatball so I opted out. The beef pho was good, not great. Beef jerky is different than other Thai, Laos, Vietnamese restaurants that I've tried. Would not order it again. Service was very good. Overall, it's not my preferred spot but I would return if friends family requested. read more

Ate here with the family and it was a mixed bag. The interior is very plain and plastic-y. Diverse menu of Laos, Thai and Chinese styles. Our waitresses were both Laos. The Thai beef salad was the best thing we had (and was more of a Laos style, which pleased my wife since she is Lao). The beef jerky was too dry. The noodle soup bland and not very authentic. I'd go back in a heartbeat for the beef salad though. read more

Thai House - Tom Kha Gai (Chicken Coconut Soup) and Pad Thai - Thai Near Me - Amarillo, Texas

Doesn't look like much from the outside but it was clean on the inside and the food was delicious. I had pad-kee-mao and my friend had teriyaki chicken and each had fresh vegetables mixed in that still had a little crunch to them, which I appreciate. Our dishes didn't come or at the same time though, everything came out as ordered with a few minutes between so be prepared to watch your friend eat before you receive yours. The food was worth the wait for me. read more

used to be great But they inflated the price and watered down the sea food soup and give smaller portions Of rice after paying more you would expect them to at least maintain quality of food read more

Pretty good for a bufftet. Lots of choices and not overly greasy.

Love the sticky rice and fried beef jerky. Make sure to dip in the red pepper/ tomato sauce. Staff is incredibly friendly. On a cold day the pho or shrimp panang are excellent choices. I have been eating here for years; always a good meal. read more

I eat at this restaurant so many times that the waitress know what I want to eat on certain day. I will not go to any other Thai restaurant as long as I live here in Amarillo. I gave all Asian restaurant a chance but no place can serve better Thai food than Thai house. I went to Thai arawan and Oh My God I'm not happy with what they served me. The receptionist was not polite the food was not good at all. I spent $28.95 there and believe me that's the last time I go there. read more

This place is my favorite. Best everything. Beef jerky and sticky rice is amazing and simple. The Pho is soul warming good stuff.

Oh my! This place is the epitome of nasty. STAY AWAY! It's the farthest thing from authentic Thai food...I gave them one star b/c the can coke and water was decent. Seriously, I tasted about 3 bites and got up, paid, then left. With each bite I wondered what household pet I was eating. I try not to judge a book by it's cover b/c I have been to Coyote Bluff (the shack of a steakhouse) and it was awesome. Thai House =Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! read more
