The pineapple fried rice is great too. My girlfriend likes their curries; try their green curry or curry noodles! For appetizers I like the cheesy crabs(crab rangoon). Last night we had dinner there with friends that are regulars. We had 5 main course dishes none with curry that were all excellent. My eyes have been opened to Thai food that does not involve curry. We also finished with coconut ice cream and mangos and sticky rice. I would probably not have tried the deserts if I was there by myself, but both were so good I cannot properly describe them. Went on a Monday for lunch. The three stars are for the friendly customer service and certainly not the food. Summer rolls were so loosely wrapped they fell apart after one bite, the potatoes in the yellow curry were raw and crunchy and lacked flavor, not to mention the carrot overload. The duck was thin sliced pre fried squares that were refried and tossed in some oyster and fish sauce with sugar concoction, with also an extraordinary amount of carrots. In all I liked the waiter but as far as the food being Good Thai cuisine it is not its as simple as that. One more thing I found is that for cost saving measures I assume they are not using Jasmine rice but standard long grain white instead, so to sum it up in f you're not really too discerning about Thai food and don't care if it's proper Thai food then yeah go check it out, but if you do want good authentic Thai food then in my humble opinion you should probably go to a different Thai restaurant. read more

I have driven by this place several times and it was always empty. Not a good sign. However, last week I decided to try this place because of all of the good reviews. I went for lunch and entered a totally empty restaurant on 12:45 on a Monday. Two other ladies entered later for a total of 3 people. I looked at the lunch specials on the board and almost walked out because of the high prices. But when I saw the lunch specials on the menu I decided to give it a try. Lunch menu prices where $7.95 not like the 12-14 dollars specials on the board. My lunch special came with soup and spring roll. The soup was GREAT, but the cup was only half full (or is that half empty). I took one bite out of the spring roll and found it very greasy and did not finish it. I ordered the Pad Thai. The food was so greasy that I only ate a small portion of it. The service was not rude but also not very friendly or attentive. Once, the server brought out the food he was gone. I asked for a cup of water and was supplied with a glass of water with barely any ice. The server came by later with the check and when he cleared my dishes, he did a double take when he saw the sparsely eaten food. However, he never asked how the food was or anything. Well, I was disappointed after all those great reviews. I just don't get it. You would think that a place with these great reviews would be thriving with customers. Boy I got this one right! The first Thai joint I hit down here was an ace! The spring roll was ok, but that was the only thing not awesome! For appetizer, Fried tofu wasn't crispy and the coconut shrimp was small but ok. I give it a three instead of two because the dessert was really good. The best Thai food we have had so far. We moved to Melbourne just a little over a month ago. We came from a little town outside St Louis so we were so excited to find out about all the great restaurants here. Thai food is one of our favorites... so we were excited to get recommendations. The only reason I gave this place one star less than perfect it is because about 80% of the time i want to call and place an order somehow we just get a phone line that rings constantly with no one picking up or on a rare occasion someone picks up and hangs up. Its extremely frustrating that the phone service isn't up to par with their amazing food. I have yet to order from here and be disappointed with their food. I love Thai food and it's really hard these days to find a place that has both quality food that's affordable. This place is it. I loved their staples, such as Pad Thai, curry, and Thai tea. They have really good pineapple fried rice too. The gyoza were delicious. You can't go wrong ordering from here if you love Thai food. The inside is small, cute, and traditional. I had to laugh, at the time of this review every other posted review refers to this restaurant using the same exact clichéd phrase within the first two sentences. So much for originality! Ironically, it's really not... umm... that thing they say (I want my review to be the only one that *doesn't* say it so I'll have to dance around the wording). Its size is not uncommonly small for a family-owned local restaurant, and it's not dirty, nor is it particularly dark. The menu contains a lot of standard Thai fare, along with a number of inexpensive lunch options and a section of "Daily Lunch Specials", which is humorously a permanent part of the laminated menu. I ordered what was essentially the Pad See Ew lunch (under $7) although I believe the menu was using one of the several alternate spellings of the dish. The lunch included a spring roll with a small bowl of sauce for dipping. Imagine my surprise when I dug into the dish only to realize that this unassuming little restaurant had just produced what I believe to be the best Pad See Ew I have ever tasted. And that's no small feat -- I get the Pad See Ew at least once at every Thai restaurant I go to. I use it as a measuring stick to determine whether or not I'm likely to come back to try the restaurant again, i.e. "If you can't even cook a good Pad See Ew, what are the odds you'll be able to cook something more complicated?" So now I'm torn -- I'm in love with that place in Orlando, and I guess it can remain my favorite Orlando Thai restaurant... but holy wow can Thai Kitchen make a great Pad See Ew!! The noodles were perfectly cooked, not at all mushy or underdone, and the greens were fresh tasting and not soggy. Overall there was a surprising amount of flavor and I ended up picking every last microscopic morsel off the plate with my chopsticks in an attempt to delay the sad, inevitable end of the meal. The waitress was quick throughout our lunch, refilling our glasses as needed. A couple of things to note before coming in though: No fountain drinks, so if you drink a lot of fluids or you're ordering something spicy, best to stick with water or iced tea. They are closed on Thursday which is kind of random, and there is a $15 minimum for credit card purchases. So unless you're picking up the tab for a friend, you'll pretty much have to pay cash for lunch. read more

This is 5 star quality food easily! I've eaten my share of Thai food from various places in Orlando Florida and nothing has EVER come close to the quality of the food at this location. I've had their Thai basil dish as well as their shrimp red curry. The flavors of both dish is so well put together, nothing overly done in regards to the food and flavor. I am basing my review off a the Thai Beef Salad and a small bowl of Tom Yum Gai. Being half Thai myself I hold Thai restaurants to a very high standard, I don't appreciate pre-made or heavily sauced with something from a bottle. The beef salad was good in the sense it was fresh and beautifully presented on a bed of lettuce wit sliced tomatoes, red onion and cucumbers. Some grated carrots and a little carrot flower adorned the plate as well. I could tell the sauce was made to order with its fresh and bright flavors, the disappointment was due to the preparation of the beef. It was stir fried versus thinly sliced grilled medium rare tender steak- this makes the beef salad! As for my Tom Kai Gai - Lemongrass soup with Chicken - for 4.50 there wasn't much to it at all, I asked for no mushrooms and got plenty of those...a couple more slices of chicken and paying attention to my order of "no mushrooms" would have made this much better but the flavor was there. Hoooooooly Moly. This is authentic thai food cooked up by a little Thai lady. I took a group of customers in for lunch today, and was blown away by how authentic and delicious everything was. I ordered a Som Tam with dried shrimp and a Pad Thai with Tofu and Vegetables. The som tam was perfect. I've had a lot of papaya salads, and know exactly how things should be traditionally, and this was nailed. They even have dried crab and shrimp that can be added to the dish. The amazingly cute and spunky (daughter of the owner) server mentioned the way I ordered it (hot, with dried shrimp) was how her mom eats hers. Validation. My pad thai was perfect, as well. An amazing amalgamation of sour, sweet, and savory, it rivaled dishes I've had in famous thai restaurants in large cities. There was a plethora of vegetables, and an ample portion of tofu... and it couldn't have been much better. My only criticism was that my dish wasn't thai hot. It was barely medium. However, the flavors, the presentation, and everything about my meal were so perfect and authentic, I totally didn't mind not having mouth-scorching heat to go along with it.
