The people that work here are very friendly and genuinely care about what they do. It's a rare restaurant where everything is a good tasting version of what it's supposed to be and it tastes like it's made of real things with real flavors. It's also stayed very affordable at good portion sizes even though so much other stuff has gotten way more expensive. I only pick-up or get deliveries (which charge less if you're close) but the actual ambiance is nice because of all the paintings and assorted decorations. I've lived nearby since 2019 and I've never had a bad experience. Not one time. They even ask about how I'm doing and care what the answer is. Ordered pork fried rice , sweet and sour chicken, crab Rangoon and hot and sour soup. My son had ordered there before and while I was visiting we ordered take out. Maybe we shouldn't have ordered right after they opened but the only thing that was hallway good was the soup. My son usually can make a meal out of the fried rice but, couldn't even finish 1/2 of it. Very bland and tasted old. The chicken had no seasonings on it and also tasted like it sat out for awhile. I have been ordering from Xin Da Chinese Restaurant in the Sarno Business Complex in Melbourne over the past several years, and I have always liked the food at this family run place. The portions and the quality have been consistent, and the service has always been professional. My two favorite items are the extra hot and spicy kung po shrimp and the hot and spicy shrimp curry. I am partial to their seafood!!! The spring rolls have also been cooked to perfection for me. This is the worst Chinese food we have ever eaten my self felt sick after eating it everyone else from our party too It was the worst Chinese food we ever had ......general ties chicken, had hard pieces, a couple pieces, broccoli and rice was the worst fried rice I ever had nasty wild gamey taste it was awful. I'm surprised this place is even open. They also boast about it. We use large portions our meals or at best lunch size if that..... Last of the big spenders, I decided on two shrimp rolls. $1.40 each - total order was $3.00, including tax. Staff seemed friendly enough but I waited almost 15 minutes for what was basically two egg rolls. Ordered "to go," I had to request both napkins and duck sauce. Shrimp rolls were okay, nothing more. First time ordering food from here and it was good. I ordered the steamed vegetables with white rice and a side order of noodles. The sauce they gave with the order tasted good not sure what kind it wasn't duck sauce which is too sweet for my liking. The orange chicken was the worst and was composed of soggy round meatball like lumps swimming in sauce; no orange flavor. The fried rice tasted rancid with dehydrated bits of peas. Take home order disaster for first time customer. The shrimp fried rice was greasy and had little flavor. The soup was only warm (not hot) and the dumplings were missing. Drove back to the restaurant to obtain the dumplings and hot soup. Drove home again only to discover the wrong soup...gave us egg drop soup and not wonton soup. (We poured the soup down the drain). Called the restaurant about receiving the wrong soup and the said our next order would include free soup. I'm afraid that there will be no next time order for us. read more
