I started with the crispy egg roll--exactly as advertised! Super crispy, easily #1 in crunch. For my main dish, I had the grilled pork Bánh Mì. The bread was different from what I'm used to but still good. The pork was just a bit on the dry side, so I'd give it a solid 7 in the bánh mì world. This restaurant is a solid choice if you are in the mood for noodles or spring rolls. My husband said the pho was quite good, not the best he's had, but satisfactory. The restaurant was out of my first choice on the menu, but they did have the second-lemongrass tofu. It was tasty, though slightly salty. When I had the leftovers with more rice at home, it was just right. The summer rolls were tasty. Again, not the best I've ever had, but acceptable. This is probably not a place to take a date, though. It seems to be located in an old Wendy's. If you need to grab a meal somewhat near I-95, this restaurant is a good choice, but if you have more time, look for a Vietnamese restaurant in the area with a higher rating on Yelp. read more

It's a unique restaurant with lots of natural light and the food is always wonderful. I tend to go for just the rare steak and broth, an order or quail and Thai tea. Quality was a pretty subpar from what I was expecting from my last visit. Black coffee was actually really good. It's actually sweetened very nicely and is iced with a real solid coffee taste. Not watered down and would order this again. The spring rolls were okay. They were stuffed with a lot of shredded lettuce and some rice noodles. Not any additonal herbs to make it interesting. Very basic and simple. The entree I ordered this time around was #61 Wonton and Pork Egg Noodle Soup. It came with an eclectic bunch of vegetables such a cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, jalapeños, bean sprouts, basil and lime. I like veggies so I didn't mind, but they did not make sense overall. The broth was chicken based and not super flavorful, but adding sriracha and sambal helped bump it up. Lastly, I got a Honeydew Boba to go. The tapioca pearls were really tough and I did not enjoy them. The drink itself was alright too. Not overly sweet and mixed well. Great Pho! This place is not too far from the hotels and beaches. There is a cute little koi pond inside the restaurant and tons of natural light. Pho Cali - Melbourne/Eau Gallie- 3.75 Stars Along with Açai, Pho spots also seem to be opening up on every corner these days and for good reasons. It is cheap, easy, convenient (you don't need a big place to make soup) and can be filling if done properly. This is why I was looking forward to my next review as Pho Cali had popped up on my random restaurant generator. Pulling into the parking lot for Pho Cali, I soon realized they were a full-fledged Vietnamese restaurant, not just another Pho shack, either that or they made really, really big pots of soup! The interior was charming, cool and relaxing no doubt in order to lure the patron into a sense of ease and well being. We were immediately greeted in the most friendly manner, showed to a table and handed our menus. Glancing to and fro over the menu I was impressed with its breadth of Vietnamese fare. Our lovely server, Chiu, was prompt on the spot and well versed in the menu. After answering a few questions we had, we asked him for an order of their Special Combination Rice Plate #94 and a bowl of Pho Tai which was #48 on the menu. Our wait wasn't too long before Chiu was seen returning from the kitchen with our food. The smells proceeding him were satisfactory and the meal was certainly pleasing to the eye. The Special Combination Rice Plate consisted of a grilled pork sausage mixed with grilled pork, a shrimp cake and shrimp sausage all wrapped in bean curd (not bean curb as the menu states) all served over Vietnamese broken rice. Sadly, the Special read better than it tasted. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't as good as it sounded and on the whole was rather average. Hey, there is nothing wrong with a "C", I just prefer "A's." The execution was flawless, by that I mean everything was cooked to order, fresh and put together well, the taste just seemed to fall a bit flat. Moving on to the bowl of Pho, their menu number #48, which was a bowl of Pho (beef broth) along with thinly sliced pieces of well-done steak, topped with the traditionally chopped scallions, cilantro, and thinly sliced onions. This was also executed flawlessly, yet somewhat bland. I expect my food to pop in my mouth, to really let me know I am eating something worth eating. This did not do that. Again, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't all that great. Asian food in Florida seems to be all about clipping the poor bastards not well versed in foods from the Far-East. That is why this place fell flat, instead of exploding with exotic flavors on my palate. For non-authentic Vietnamese food, this place is top o' the heap in Brevard. However, scootch on over to O-Town or to our neighboring state to the West, Louisiana, and you will find some real from the old country Vietnamese food. To restate, the food was cooked properly, including the noodles and the broken rice, the toppings seemed fresh, the service was nice and helpful, the flavor fell flat. I can only assume it's because they either can't get the authentic ingredients here or won't, regardless, the fare is average. The Big Boy says, "For an average Asian meal, this will do. If you know me, you know I love my Asian cuisine. One of the cuisines I thoroughly enjoy is Vietnamese food. In Melbourne and Palm Bay, it is somewhat limited to restaurants that serve a wide array of Asian cuisines like Mangetsu for example. Pho Cali is located on Wickham Road, just a little south past Fiesta Azteca at the intersection of Post Road and Wickham Road. Right on the curve actually. Anyways, Pho Cali is technically a small restaurant located at one end of a small shopping strip that includes a deli and a bar. Don't remember their names right now. I went numerous times with my friends and every time was either a-okay or more than what we expected. The place is simplistic in furniture as the tables and chairs are minimalist, but the paintings on the walls, Asian decor, and plants bring vibrancy to the little space. We ordered numerous noodle bowls, lunch specials, and even their boba teas and they are all good. I personally love the taro root boba tea. Price can be a bit on the steep side for Vietnamese food, but thankfully there is a lunch special section patrons can look at. They are usually priced fair and have a lot of food. I suggest people to get food from that list if they show up early enough. Overall all, a nice place to go and eat Vietnamese food. I heard there is another local Vietnamese place that is better but until I try it, I will leave it as it and say this is the restaurant you should try out for authentic Vietnamese food. read more
