Three words: Chicken Coconut Soup I went here for lunch with a few of my coworkers, and it was pretty empty. It's really easy to miss, but worth turning around for. It's a fantastic option if you work downtown!! The whole place had great service and was super clean. We ordered loads of egg rolls and spring rolls as appetizers and they were delicious!! The egg rolls came with a sweet chili sauce and the spring rolls came with a peanut sauce. Personally, I liked the egg rolls better, but I also just can't get into spring rolls. Anyways, I got the Thai coffee, which was REALLY sweet. I honestly can't recommend it unless you have a serious sweet tooth. I got the chicken coconut soup- it's my "go-to" and lots of Thai places, but I think this was actually the best I've ever had. It was phenomenal! Everything was fresh! From the basil, to the lemon grass, and the chicken was cooked perfectly! They were the opposite of stingy with the mushrooms, it was just perfect. I couldn't think of something better if you're fighting a cold or just want something to warm you up. So good!! read more

Once I heard there was a new Thai joint in town my thought was YES! Just like there are never too many Ryan Adams albums (His 1989 is better than Swifts) there are never too many Thai joints. I got the Chicken Coconuts Soup and it was full of flavor and spice. I told them what I want what I really really want was spicy. It was spicy but not over bearing and I look forward to trying the curries on future trips. read more

Our new favorite place in Lubbock! Small hidden gem hesitantly sharing this review because then everyone will know. We had Pad Thai with Chicken and shrimp the was a wonderful amount of vegetables and a fresh peanut sauce with I'm pretty sure was a hint of lemongrass added..so delish. We also had drunken noodles with shrimp the sauce had just enough kick to get your attention without being overpowering. It was a beef based sauce that just covered the flat noodles. Very good, no frills Thai food! Authentic without being overly cheesy about seeming to be authentic if that makes sense. You're not going to get pampered here, though, so go in knowing that. You sit, you order, you remind them you want chop sticks, they bring it, you eat. The end. My husband asked for very spicy and it didn't really have much kick but next time he will see if they will make it "Thai hot" as he usually likes at other places. The prices were also way cheap for the amount of food. Wowzer. First time visit here with the bf and I can already guarantee that they literally have the best tasting green curry! The best next to other Houston's famous thai places. Like literally, it's that good. Unlike my curry, my bf's drunken noodle was good and spicy but not that good compared to the green curry :D OMG. You have to try the green curry whenever you go there. It's a bit spicy after every bite of the rice with soup but it was that good that I had to to-go it with me and I never "to-go" anything. 1. We came here because our favorite is closed on Saturdays and this has such great ratings! Unfortunately, I'm confused because, to us, it was not great. I got fried rice and my husband got pad Thai. We also had egg rolls. Everything just tasted like carrots. Bland and not super flavorful. Also my fried rice seemed more like steamed and the chicken was dry. Sad because we really wanted to like it! The staff was nice and service was good. That's where the two stars are coming from. Found this place on Yelp and it was a total win. The food was excellent- the chicken satay was the best we've ever had and we loved the red curry and chicken coconut soup. Probably my favorite Thai food in Lubbock. I recommend the fresh spring rolls to start. The peanut sauce is more gelatinous than normal but I like the texture combo with the fresh veggies! This is my third visit and every dish I've tried has been amazing. Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Yellow Curry - it's all fresh and tasty. Another great thing - it's FAST. We only waited 5-10 minutes for food every visit. The location is weird, but well worth taking the time to find (it's not hard - look for the covered parking). It's amazing to me that this place could have so many reviews that are positive. Either the people in Lubbock don't know a thing about Thai food or the standard of quality is LOW! The chicken is dry! So gristly and old tasting. Same for the beef! The portions of rice with the curries are like 1/2 cup. The curry is ok but has no flavor other than the coconut milk base. I can't believe they used vermicelli for Pad Thai! What? Weird..overall this was a HUGE waste of 54.00 and some change! Would of eaten better stopping at a roadside convenience store. read more

In my opinion,  the food didn't stack up to the reviews on yelp at all. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and it was pretty bland. And it literally only had two shrimp. Also there was no pineapple chuncks as i wouldve expected. Thr flavor was bland and didn't taste like pineapple fried rice, my wonton soup was also bland. Don't be dissuaded by the location, exterior, or interior of this place. The food is SO good and the service is fast and attentive. The menu covers all your typical Thai food options. If you're vegetarian, they can make most of their choices without meat, or add veggies and/or tofu. The pad Thai was A+, and my husband said the pad see ew was also incredible. It's surprising to me the amount of Thai food available in Lubbock, TX. Out of all the spots, however, this one is the best. Always consistent. Always delicious. I don't know why, but I'm always taking a big crowd here. We never have a problem with seating (the staff is very accommodating of our large party), we never have a problem with the wait-staff, and we never have messed-up orders. 10/10 (or I guess 5/5). To everyone that's new to Lubbock, I highly recommend visiting Thai Kitchen. Before Thai Kitchen, my regular would be Bangkok Thai on 34th. While both are very good at their craft, I prefer Thai Kitchen because of it's homemade feel and the vibrant flavors of their dishes. Some of my favorites range from their Drunken Noodles to their Lard Na. Their Drunken Noodles are simple with a peppery and sweet taste, but they have a big spicy kick to them. So, if you're not a fan of spicy or hot noodles I'd suggest the Pad See Ew which is sweeter. My all time favorite from this place is their Lard Na. It is not a popular dish because it's unknown to Americans, but it is AMAZING. It's same noodles as the last two dishes however they are laid out in a bed of "gravy" sauce which is spicy and delicious. It can be with your choice of meat and includes some beans, broccoli, and peppers. During our visits, I try to get something new. Their rolls are usually hot and fresh, and their fried rice is addictive. Overall, it is a treat coming here, they are open until 9:00, and they always very happy to see new people to try their food! read more

The food was below average even though we ordered several things to try. The red curry was flavorless with a layer of oil covering the top, for example. Food is handed to you on a tray passed through a small sliding window. The environment is cold and uninviting, Nothing to make you feel like you have had a special experience going out or that they were glad you came. We were expected to clear our table. I ordered mild spicy tom yum and mild spicy green curry. What I got were medium spicy, which when I notified the male staff, he argued that it was already mild. I told him that I've been to Thailand many times and had these items prepared mild spicy. The tom yum soup priced for $7.50 is expensive considering the lack of vegetables. It had 2 slices of tomato, bay leaves and chopped small mushrooms. In addition, the soup is grainy with possibly fish bones.
