The new place
Tri L.

I found this place through Yelp last time I was in Lubbock. It was good the first time, so I went back a second time. The place is basically a tiny house/hut sitting by itself on the side of the road. The inside is cramped and unimpressive. The decorations were basically a collage of random items. Both times I was there had two, grandma like people working there. That was reflecting in the taste of the food. I do not eat Filipino often, but this place was pretty good for me. Most of the dishes I had were very good. The portion size were decent and the flavors were great. The BBQ stick was a bit dry and the rice was dry and a bit old. Another issue was the availability. Many of the items on the white board menu was either sold out or not available. Next time I am back in Lubbock I will stop by again. I would recommend this restaurant. Enjoy y'all. Update- I thought they had closed down. They have reopened at a bigger and newer place. GPS doesn't show you where it is exactly. The new place is across from the Academy. Not sure if it's the same ownership.

Ate here for the first time today and let me tell you, it's delicious. I went basic with Pancit and Lumpia. Flavor is amazing, the Lumpia was a tad greasy. I would recommend trying it once. I'll be back to try the Ckn adobo next.

Costumer service was great, and the ladies were really nice. The food came out in about 20 minutes. We were also able to get extra rice. The food was really good and tasted like homemade cooking. However, the prices were a bit overpriced. Also, I'm not sure if there was a separate menu with food descriptions but just looking at the menu on the wall, I didn't know what was what. Thankfully, I had my friend who was Filipino so she helped me order my dish.

This is my first time here. I had expected to go to a shack, because of a previous review I read. The place is clean. From what I heard this is their new location. I had their combo, pepper steak and sweet sour & chicken. The was food was good. We'll be back. Maybe to order a more traditional Filipino food. The only down side was they cooked our food as we ordered and you have to wait, but it's fresh.

Fried bangus, pampano sinigang, and vege pinakbet. And oh! My husband had bistek (teryaki beef )

Thank you Linda's cafe for some delicious home cook meal. Enjoyed extra crispy bangus, sinigang pampano with extra veges, and vege pinakbet my family in Houston was impressed. We are always going to be a loyal customer. 2 thumbs up

Chicken Adobo!! The best in town.

Large portion of very bland, and somewhat expensive, Thai-like eats. That about covers it. Shant be returning any time soon.

I went here based on the reviews but the food was mediocre. I'm not sure how they pass inspection, either, because the place is very dirty.

The place is a Dive, but it is by far the best Asian restaurant in Lubbock, and I have tried almost all of them.

The owner of the store was very kind. She made trips to Dallas to stock up and she'd ask me what I wanted and she brought it back. She even cooked me Korean soup one time. Its been a very long time but I still remember. God bless you k.

This definitely isn't the most orderly grocery store out there (random food packages consumed by the owner left on tables, some frozen goods packed into Ziploc bags, items in random locations), but it is way better than not having an oriental grocery store in NM. Apparently they used to be located on Thornton, but moved to Main Street away from the busy center road that takes you down Clovis. Don't be alarmed if it feels like you're going the wrong way. K's Oriental is nestled among the various houses, located right next to another oriental store. Odd, but we decided to go to K's since the Yelp reviews sounded promising. Before we had taken the trip to Clovis, we saw that some reviewers mentioned the owner making orders of bulgogi and kimchi. Since there isn't any good AYCE KBBQ nearby, we decided to take a chance and order 24 oz of bulgogi for around $15 or so. Reviewers mentioned that it was good, so we took a chance. Upon walking in, somebody was actually buying some other order of meat that the owner had prepared, which looked like a good sign. The store seems like it's both the owner's house and a small grocery store mixed into one. There are a ton of good items that would have definitely kept me satisfied if I needed to stay in Portales for awhile. From ramen, to Asian sauces, to Asian vegetables (I definitely would have liked this since all I ate was basically broccoli) to frozen goods - you can pretty much find anything and everything here. If you can't find it, ask the owner and she will try to order it for you if she is able to. She has Chinese items, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Thai, etc. So the bulgogi ... we had thought the bulgogi was freshly prepared, but it seemed like it had been frozen for awhile. Not something that was newly made. For $15ish, that's a pretty steep price for just a tub of bulgogi. But maybe it would taste amazing with the tub of kimchi we had bought (I think the kimchi is divided into tubs from a large tub of kimchi that wasn't personally made by the owner). We warmed up half of the bulgogi, prepared it with rice, took a bite ... and we were very very disappointed by how salty and un-bulgogi like the meat tasted. So salty there was NO sweetness of that bulgogi marinade at all. It took several mouthfuls of rice to counter the saltiness. Not sure what the other reviewers were talking about, but this was definitely no good. Kimchi was also way too salty ... and only got saltier as it sat in the fridge. tl; dr - I wouldn't buy any of the foods prepared and packaged in tubs. Everything else should be okay. Credit cards are accepted, but cash is preferred. I would definitely visit again, but would not order the bulgogi ... or kimchi.
