We booked with them again for our Mother's celebration of life in November. Five days before the celebration of life on the day we were to pay the deposit they canceled us. They stated we were too late with the deposit and they had two other customers that wanted to book. We had locked in the date a month prior and had arranged the deposit date. We were going to pay the deposit with a trust check, offered to pay in full and they stated they did not take checks. Interestingly enough, the contract states they take checks. They were looking for any excuse to cancel us. It is our belief they canceled us because one of the other customers had a bigger contract request. Your guess is as good as mine. But what kind of company cancels customers they worked with in the past just five days before a celebration of life as they are grieving the loss of another loved one? They do beautiful work but would never use them again because of how they operate and who they are as business people. Life is full of choices, you've been warned. Signed, The grieving family of two wonderful parents, grandparents and great grandparents.

That's why this review is a tough one to write. This year I ordered one of their charcuterie boxes, and while the presentation was cute (the salami rose was adorable!), the overall value just didn't match the $22 price tag. The portion size and variety left a lot to be desired, and I honestly walked away feeling a bit underwhelmed. I'm hoping this was just an off experience because I've had such great luck with them in the past. I still love supporting local and know what they're capable of--but for the price, I'd love to see the quality and quantity better reflect the Cherry Bomb standard I've come to expect.

UPDATE 1/6/2025…read more Cherry Bomb continues to be my very favorite catering in Reno. My very favorite for meal prep. My nachos were fine but majority of the cheese wasn't melted, the salsa cups were filled about 1/4 of the way and felt lacking overall. My partner's tacos were the biggest disappointment I'd say. While the asada is good, the size of the tacos were shocking. They are smaller than the average size street taco, we both even said if they're that small why even offer them on the menu. It took him about two bites of each and they were gone. I really wanted to like this place as it was our first time here, but in our personal experience it was very lacking.

We hired All Wrapped Up to provide lunch for an outdoor trade show we put on in Sparks. Our…read morecriteria were to provide 2 or 3 sandwich options and sides for 300 people with little to no waiting time. We would provide the drinks. I frankly had my doubts that they could pull if off. But to my pleasant surprise, I was completely wrong, and as the saying goes, this mother and daughter team "were kicking butt and taking names. From the time the event started, the line for food was 5 to 10 deep, and plates were going out every 30 seconds or so. The choices for lunch were BBQ pulled pork, chicken, and sides were potato salad, macaroni salad, and coleslaw. When it was my turn for lunch, I had the chicken and the homemade coleslaw. Because my mother made a really good coleslaw, I had to ask how it was, and the server told me her mother made it and it was good. The BBQ chicken was good, and the coleslaw was really good. At the end of the show, I thanked them for doing such a good job and told them how much I liked the slaw. Long story short, I ended up taking 5 pounds of leftover slaw home and was pretty much gone by the following Tuesday. So I would definitely recommend All Wrapped Up and their coleslaw.

Choosing Blend as our caterer was easily one of the best choices we made for our wedding day!…read moreWorking with Whitney and the Blend team was an absolute pleasure from the very beginning. They were always quick and responsive to answer our questions and the ease of scheduling our tasting was so easy! We loved that the tasting was an option and we both agreed this was easily our favorite part of the planning process. The only difficult aspect was selecting final proteins, sides, and appetizers because they're all SO good that you wish you could choose them all. The catering team on the day of the wedding were so freaking sweet. They were flexible, rolled with the rain, and didn't skip a beat on timing or set-up. It was important to us to attend our cocktail hour (in lieu of photos and missing out on guests), but as an extra benefit - the second I'd finished an appetizer, the Blend team was magically at my side to give me another. Truly, 10/10 service! In an unexpected moment, one of the Blend catering staff had congratulated us on a beautiful wedding and had then said: "They say rain is good luck on your wedding day because it washes away all the hardship that's come before." I've previously heard that 'rain on your wedding day is good luck', yet I'd never heard the second part of the saying or 'why' it's good luck. She couldn't have known our story, but my husband's a Marine and we've been together for 11 years through countless deployments, exercises, and overseas assignments. Her sharing that with us meant so much and it's stuck as one of the profound moments where I felt incredibly present and rooted on that day. Not only that moment, but all of the Blend staff were so kind and present with all our guests. I would see them laughing and joking and our guests could not stop raving about how good the food was!! They also LOVED that there was the option to go back for seconds. Each of the Blend staff at one point had complimented my dress (it was black!) and they all made me feel beautiful and seen in so many ways. As the late night bites were passed around and one of the trays emptied, the Blend girls joined us on the dance floor and it was such an epic blast. On the logistics front, Blend delivered yet again. We had 2 guests with allergies and 2 guests with dietary preferences and coordinating their needs were so easy. We also discovered one of our guests had a tonsillectomy 3 days before our wedding, so we messaged the Blend team to see if they could make any last minute accommodations and again - they delivered! From the food, to the service, to their people - Blend is one of the best choices you can make for your wedding. I can't recommend them, their food, or their staff enough. Our final selection choices: - Appetizers: Korean beef short rib wrap, pork belly skewer with maple bourbon glaze (MY FAVE), and the tuna tostada (my second fave!) - Mains: The gochujang buttermilk fried chicken thighs and New York steak with au poivre sauce - Sides: Mashed potatoes (we LOVED the smashed potatoes during our tasting, but opted for mashed instead to dip the protein in, IYKYK), grilled asparagus. - Salad: Honey crisp salad - Drink station: apple cider, strawberry lemonade, and cucumber water (This was also such a huge hit for our guests that don't drink! They loved having more options than just soda or water.)

Their menu structure is very straightforward--they offer clear standard pricing with a variety of options, as well as optional upgrades. We decided to upgrade to the filet, and it was worth every penny! Ahead of the big day, they hosted a private tasting for us in Reno so we could finalize our selections and fine-tune a few details. On the day of the event, Chef Memo and his team arrived right on time and seamlessly converted our home kitchen into a prep station to finish and plate the dinner, which was served outside. They handled a few last-minute schedule changes with total ease. The entire staff was exceptionally kind, helpful, and attentive throughout the night. Menu Highlights: Appetizers/Stations: The taco station, mini lobster rolls, and sliders were huge crowd favorites. Dessert: The variety of mini desserts was a massive hit with our guests. At the end of the night, they left our kitchen spotless and neatly stacked all the rental items in the garage for pickup. We enthusiastically recommend Blend Catering to anyone looking for a top-tier catering team!

When you throw a block party but don't wanna cook, who ya gonna call?…read more Paisanitos! Now that name should ring a bell because this food truck is the little mobile version of El Paisano, one of Reno's favorite Mexican/Salvadorian restaurants. The truck just hit the streets, and it's making people happy at private parties and office plazas all over. We hired them to cater a block party and it knocked everyone's socks off! For us they served a solid menu of classics like tortas, tacos, and burritos, with either al pastor, asada, pollo, or lengua. We chose those meats, but they can do anything you want. The kitchen setup inside the truck is really nice, and I'm sure capable of a whole lot more too. Everything was absolutely delicious, clearly food made fresh with a lot of love. The al pastor was rich and spicy and the lengua was incredibly tender too. They rolled out a full salsa bar with four or five varieties along with radish, limes and whole grilled jalapeños. Pricing was totally reasonable and the service fast and friendly too. I'd highly recommend working with these guys anytime! Ask them about their incredible taco cart too!

Food Dinner - A food truck with burrito and tacos, too many choices. I went my classic choice of a burrito. And to top it off they have carne asada. Done deal! $7 was a deal for the burrito, there was some rice and beans as filler but the flavors of the burrito were great. I had totally unwrapped the foil from the burrito, but by then the bottom was busting out so the foil had to go back on. Service - It was what you needed, fast and friendly.
