I was glad that I did finally drop in. Located in a little strip mall on Valley Road, it's an unassuming place from the outside. The inside is small, but comfortable and it felt very "homey". When I walked in, the first thing that hit me was the smell of delicious food wafting through the air. The tastes did not disappoint. We were greeted and sat promptly by a personable young man that brought us water. The owner then brought us our drinks...a margarita for my dining companion and a Mandarin Jarritos for me. My sip of the margarita tasted amazing! Great balance and flavor. We also received a basket of chips and salsa. You could tell that they were made fresh to order. The chips were crispy and hot. The salsa was outstanding...fresh cilantro...balanced combination of flavors with a nice, subtle kick of spiciness at the back end. Not too spicy...just right. I usually have to ask for something hotter...not in this case. The food was amazing! My dining companion ordered the Chile Relleno plate and I got the Molcajete. The prices are outstanding and the amount of food? Huge plates! My Molcajete was sizzling hot and overflowing with chicken, beef, shrimp, nopales and ground beef mixed with veggies. A large plate of refried beans and spanish rice also accompanied this presentation. Fresh, hot, delicious corn tortillas rounded out each of our orders. We were also given a couple of squeeze bottles of sauces...green and red...to add to our meals if we wanted. Freshly made and the bottles were presented in a plastic tub filled with ice to keep them cold. Great addition to the already amazing food! There's also a nice selection of Mexican hot sauces on the table for you to choose from. We both took to-go boxes...so much food! Mine lasted for 2 more meals! I plan to return on a regular basis...this is now one of my favorite local places for great Mexican food. As always, I suggest that you visit to see what YOU think...

And just as I was thinking that, daddy's coffee truck appeared. They were offering free drinks, which of course is the way to my heart (daddy's is very community-oriented and philanthropic so no surprise at their generosity). My only suggestions for improvement is some more logos on the side of the truck (there's just the one at the front) and perhaps using names to call out drinks (their taco truck uses buzzers which works super well too). Otherwise, thanks for this great addition to the coffee truck scene, daddy's!

My only complaint is paying extra for milanesa and barely having any meat in my torta. Their prices have drastically increased since the last time my family and I dined in. The restaurant is usually fairly busy, but it wasn't at their dinner service tonight. (I'm not complaining about having the place to ourselves.) Another suggestion would be for your restrooms to be routinely deep cleaned and to be updated. I'll always be back and stay as long as it's not a full house.

There was one customer eating inside and no cars in the lot. A week ago, I decided maybe drive thru wasn't the best way so I went inside to order. I was inside the place waiting at the front counter for more than 6 minutes until I walked out of a completely customerless business, and I know why. There was at least one person working that I could see that never made any attempt to acknowledge me. Sorry NTG, I am not going to beg to get helped and I am sure if your employees think customers are too annoying to help, I am sure the food would have sucked too. I know this is't the nicest area to have a business but DO BETTER or relocate.

I hired King Reno Tacos food truck for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner. They were amazing! The venue was up on Mt. Rose and Theo met me there prior to the event to make sure everything world work out. He was so nice and professional. His truck was early the day of the event and ready to go. The staff were so nice and friendly and very efficient. It was a wonderful experience and I can't recommend them enough! read more

Theres not many places I would choose over King Reno Tacos. When I see they're out, I make it a mission to get tacos from them. All of my friends have all agreed that they're the best tacos in Reno. I highly recommend that you follow them on instagram @kingrenotacos so you can see when theyre out, and make it a priority to try them! or if you ever need an event catered, there's no better options than them! read more

It was $15 for the taco plate (3 tacos, rice, beans) and that included a can of soda. Beans were very soft and certainly made with delicious lard. Rice was soft and fluffy and light in flavor (but in a good way-- it balanced the plate really well). Red salsa was like a mild/medium and was more hot than the green salsa (the green salsa had a mild heat). We tried the avocado salsa too; I could see that being amazing on a quesadilla. The avocado salsa also has some mild heat to it. The taco truck itself is fine but the area doesn't have the best ambiance (we saw a number of people out on foot at night in the nearby parking lots looking like they were possibly on drugs-- and this was when it was under 30 degrees out with some residual snow and ice on the ground from the recent storm). Nevertheless, the "ambiance" won't deter us from returning again-- and I must say as someone who previously lived in So Cal THESE were the kind of carne asada tacos my taste buds have been searching for in Reno.

Now that name should ring a bell because this food truck is the little mobile version of El Paisano, one of Reno's favorite Mexican/Salvadorian restaurants.
