Tried this for the first time yesterday, loved the tacos especially the Al pastor! I will definitely be going back and trying more items on the menu! They have lots of options as well as plenty of meat choices.

Wow! You need to try this taco spot! I was craving tacos randomly and passed by this truck. It's parked behind the liquor store opposite the Peppermill. I got the taco combination so I could try a bit of everything. The rice was fluffy and seasoned very well, the beans was really good too. Now....for the star of the show, the carne asada tacos... this has to be one of the best tacos I've had. The meat was Very juicy and flavorful. It's cash only so don't forget to get cash before coming.

Good food truck parked conveniently in front of Peppermill Resort in the evenings, near liquor store parking lot. I asked for a recommendation of what to order and the clerk advised a quesadilla as a very popular menu item. I got a large fresh corn tortilla quesadilla to which I added carnitas and lettuce. It is the size of 3-4 tacos. It would have been better without the lettuce and with sour cream or avocado added (up-charge). Next time would probably try with carne or pollo asada. Also it came fried and it took a while to heat up the oil. There was an oil coating on the fresh corn tortilla and I would have preferred grilled. The tacos are also supposed to be very good. This is a convenient location for good Mexican food, especially when staying at the Peppermill Resort across the street.

two each of lengua and cabeza grande tacos

Street taco night! Keep seeing taco truck across from Peppermill casino parking lot, figure it's time to give it a try. Ordered lengua, cabeza, al pastor and chorizo granda tacos. Well, they need to season their meats. The cabeza and the lengua didn't have any seasoning at all, imo, they seemed to be boiled tender and that was it. I've definitely have had more flavourful chorizo and al pastor. The order also came with medium or hot salsa, I opted for the medium, it was like a salsa verde, very flavorful, also lime wedge, radish and the cooked onions. The onions were the highlight. I think they were carmelized in the chorizo oil, I could have had a bowl of that with some salt. If you want to try this place, be sure to bring salt, a fork and plenty of napkins. It's certainly not the best I have tried but you may differ.

I've had many people tell me to try this taco truck... We tried last week but they don't open until 5pm. So here we are! We had just finished at Cafe Milano for the happy hour. We ordered two carne asada tacos and it was $4.00. Had to wait 5 minutes and handed a ticket, for the order. A few more customers came through, then it was time for ours. Presentation was appropriate, with cilantro and chopped onions separated (per my request), grilled onion, radish and a hot pepper, with salsa. The meat was cut in small pieces, and better than most places I've tried recently. I'd say second runner up to my all time favorite. Still a place to try if you are craving street tacos!

Ive never trusted taco trucks. And i dont think someone my age should have an irrational fear of TACO TRUCKS so i gave it a try. Its located in front of Peppermill in a liquor stores parking lot. Tacos La Bufa is amazing! Their asada tacos are great, they are a little on the expensive side but the food comes with cilantro, chopped and fried onion and radish. You get to chose between spicy or mild salsa, mild was alright but the spicy gave the food the right kick it needed! The owner of the truck was super nice, he makes sure everyone is satisfied with their food and that his staff works up to his expectations & and its always packed! The times ive been there, ive noticed food may take up to an hour to be ready. However, they call you if you make orders online and keep your food warm if you need it! Definitely worth a try!

4 small asada, 4 pastor small, 2 large asada, 2 large pastor

This taco truck is parked across the street from Peppermill casino. I've only tried the asada and pastor tacos and they are delicious. The small size tacos are $2 each and the large ones are $2.50 each. Also they only accept cash. Each plate of tacos come with grilled onions, radishes and a pepper. The pepper can sometimes be pretty spicy so beware before taking a big bite. The wait on the evenings can be over 30 minutes so be prepared during busier times.

This is a classic Mexican food truck that offers a wide array of edible animal parts. Only…read morerecently did we refer to meat as muscle tissue only. They have head, intestines, and skin tacos. Gross you say? What the hell do you think is in your hot dog and hamburger, rib eye? They also have regular meat. For whatever reason, Americans have lost their taste. Now I still hate French cheese, but must Kraft cheese taste like nothing? Must our milk and butter taste of nothing? Must our meats taste of nothing unless drenched in sauce? Okay, the head is a bit much. A decent taco food truck, and yes, they are el rapido. Long before the trendy food truck craze initiated by Kogi's Korean BBQ Taco Truck in Los Angeles (they were not the first gourmet truck but the first to use social media), there were taco trucks. Before that, there were lunch trucks serving donuts and sandwiches. There were a number of taco trucks in Reno, but you don't see them out as often. Why? Well, the City of Reno, in response to an outcry from brick-and-mortar restaurants, passed a number of regulations limiting them to a 3-hour time limit and 100-feet from restaurants. Mind you, this was not passed because of taco trucks but the explosion of gourmet trucks. Now, you may argue, hey, I got a restaurant, worked my butt off, why should I have to put up with some food truck outside stealing my customers? My answer is, well, in a free market, you compete freely or perish. You adapt. When existing businesses collude and press government to pass laws to undermine new competition, what do you call this? Unfair! So all these hardworking Latino food truck owners got shafted. Nobody had ever complained about them, but with the new regulations, you see less of them. Every three hours they have to pack up and move. How unfair is that? Time and time again, the free market is undermined by existing lazy businesses colluding and conspiring with government to stifle new competition, stifling progress and innovation, and keeping prices up for consumers. A major cause of poverty is not lack of government handouts but rather the excessive costs, training requirements, and regulations required to start your own business or craft. Yes you want a well-trained professional, but increasingly consumer review sites like Yelp and Angie's List can help you weed out the unprofessionals not regulations which act only to create formidable entry barriers. Back in the day, guilds were village monopolies requiring unpaid apprenticeships to enter the field and barring all outside competition. Hello! We still have guilds. In nature, organisms became more mobile in order to adapt, exploit new territories, outrun predators, or conversely outrun prey. This is why we have legs and are not rooted to the ground. Food trucks are likewise, an evolutionary adaptation. It makes starting a business cheaper and it's less costly to try innovative menus that might fail. Hence, there's a lot more food innovation with food trucks than brick-and-mortars. In evolution, if you don't adapt you perish. However, in America these days, it seems we're more and more willing to subsidize failure and weakness. Nature proves this is unsustainable. Nature sometimes engages in monopolies. Pandas can only eat bamboo, but this is a rarity. What if an epidemic wipes out bamboos? They're screwed. This is why nature prefers diversity. How about almost 300K species of plants and 7.8 million species of animals. But we insist on only coddling one species of food vendor? In fact, our omnivorous appetite was an adaptation. Ironically nature gave us brains to better adapt, perhaps to study and learn from nature, but we insist that nature's laws don't apply to us, that somehow we're better, and as such, we will all become extinct, despite our brains. Our brains didn't do us in, our system of rewarding and subsidizing idiocy did.

Kevin manning the grill and the rest of the family helping serve up and take orders made for a well oiled machine. I kicked off my patronage with a smoked hot link which paired fantastically with the margarita I was indulging in. These are sausage sandwiches so instead of a bun they're wedged into a length of bread notched out and grilled up with a little butter, garlic and parm to add a little pop of flavor. I practically inhaled the hot link it was so good. After finishing my first sandwich I declared it absolutely necessary to dive immediately into a second one.
