We stopped at Santee, SC. Saturday 17 on our way back to FL where we leave. We chose the Thai Cuisine 2 as our dining place and we did not regret. The chicken pad-thai I had was fantastic as well as the vegetable dish my wife ordered. Previously, my son and I have enjoyed some teriyaki wings with sesame seeds, and after that, I took care of a California roll made in front of my very eyes! This great dinner was topped of by a house-made mango ice cream my family enjoyed. I opted for the sugar-free coconut ice cream. Both kinds were delicious. Owner Sam and his daughter worked very hard to please us and other costumers filling up the house at that time. Waited ten minutes for someone to recognize we were standing in their restaurant and another five minutes until we could sit down. It took us about ten minutes to realize no one was bothering to drop off water, take our drink order, or dinner order. We got up and left without word from a single employee in the restaurant. Absolutely embarrassing restaurant that needs to reevaluate their management and service. We heard giggling and conversation coming from the kitchen but still no waiter or waitress to take our order or bother to give us some ice water. Infuriated. read more

It's hard to find healthful Asian food close to I-95 in SC, so hoping this small restaurant thrives. This has quite good food, moderately priced, with excellent service, and a very extensive menu including large sushi offerings. For appetizers we had teriyaki chicken, dumplings like shumai (Chinese). For entrees, the specialty crab/seafood dish was fine, and the green curry was OK but the sauce was almost certainly bottled. Vegetables were not overpowered by sauces and presentation was good. House fried rice was very good (there is Hawaiian and Thai versions as well), Service attentive to spiciness. read more

The food was ok. The decor in the restaurant was...interesting. But for a quick stop for lunch off I-95 it was fairly good!

Wow! What a pleasant surprise in such a unusual location l! Delicious and good sized portions of wonderful Thai specialties! Had Pho soup in beef broth! Absolutely hot and tasty. Husband ordered Pad Thai Chicken tender and best sauce. Ginger tea hit the spot since I had terrible cold! Owners, husband and wife are friendly and caring! Appearances are deceiving. While it looks like it's basically at the gas station, give it a chance because the food is excellent. The pad Thai was wonderful, but the green curry was really excellent. Worth timing lunch or dinner around when you pass through Santee on I-95. read more

Stopped here on a road trip to Florida. Excellent and fairly-priced food. I had the pad see ew with tofu and it was one of the best Thai dishes I have had. Many choices for vegans/vegetarians as well as beer and wine choices. read more

Was not expecting to be as impressed as the reviews say, but we were! We got the panang chicken and the pad thai. The pad thai was especially amazing. We will be coming back next time we pass through Santee! Don't let the outside deceive you. We did not get a chance to talk to the owner but we observed his interactions with the other guests. I was visiting relatives who live in santee who had recommended this restaurant. I know santee pretty well as my parents retired here 20 years ago. I live in the ny/ nj area where there are a lot of great thai restaurnts and this is the real deal. It's truly a family operation and the owners are exremely nice people who make everything from scratch. The soups are authentic home made, nothing is mass produced. Because everything is made from scratch, the wait for your food can be a few minutes longer than in a chain restaurant, but the wait is well worth it. The other reviewers are also correct about the location. It's tucked away behind a gas station next to a convenience store. Those who find it will be in for a pleasant surprise. read more

I'm pretty sure this is actually the Thai and Asian Cuisine on the other side of 95 attached to the Mobil gas station. We drove to the location identified on the map, but there was nothing there. Anyway, the Thai restaurant we did end up at was wonderful. A big surprise due to the location. Service was friendly if a little flaky. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed! read more

Surprisingly good food! Slow service and it took a while but it was definitely worth it. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. The sushi was a bit on the expensive side, but the tuna poke and tilapia ceviche were small but AMAZING, best I have ever had. read more

For our little rural area, this place is a delightful find! Based on the location (gas station) and the outward appearance (again part of a gas station!!) I wouldn't normally try this but I had several friends who strongly recommended it. I literally dragged my husband in the door and we were really, happily, surprised by our dining experience. The place is not fancy but it is comfortable. The family that runs this restaurant is very friendly and careful about making sure they fix your food exactly as you want it.
