This is our favorite place to go in Vermont! The atmosphere is very peaceful, it's quiet with nice music playing. The service is amazing as well all our servers are nothing but polite. The food is amazing! It's so tasty and just warms your heart! I personally love the Pad Se Ew! We will continue to come time and time again!

    Drunken noodles, beef. Delicious.

What a nice little (family owned?) Thai restaurant! Looks like it may be the husband and wife running the place? But what do I know. Food was good. I ordered the Golden Triangles (fried tofu) and Drunken noodles (of course). Food was good, although, they don't use the fresh wide rice noodles I expected. These looked like the dried and boiled rice noodles. Perhaps it's difficult for them to get a steady supply of fresh wide rice noodles. I will go back if I ever go back to St Albans.

My first trip to Vermont in several years. I don't believe Thai food was even an option several years ago. Fortunately, times have changed and Thai House is now an option is the Saint Albans area. Thai House definitely delivered a wonderful experience. I called ahead and a nice lady took my reservation for five guest. Once we arrived, everything was set up and ready for us. Thai House is a BYOB and there is a supermarket right across the parking lot. No hard liquor tho, only wine. The menu at Thai House has many options. I ordered the Thai House basil with chicken extra spicy. I truly enjoyed my meal and my friends who enjoyed such things as spicy shrimp and fried rice were pleased with their meals as well. The staff is very friendly and most of the reviews that I read prior to proved to be true. In fact, even the taxi drivers dropping us off said, it's one of his favorites. If I should return in the very near future, Thai House will definitely be top on my list.

They said it depends on the song. I asked to be seated in the main room and the hostess told us that when something opens up she's would let us know so we could move but she never returned. When we left there were plenty of seats available in the front. We certainly would have stayed and had more drinks after our meal to enjoy the music. On to the food. We basically all ordered the same thing in a different form! Haha! It was the Vermonter where you got your main dish with sautéed apples and maple bacon jam. We got the Mac and cheese, the wrap, and a burger on a gluten free bun. We were impressed with their gluten free options and the bun was so good, my daughter was nervous it was not gluten free! It was! And she felt great afterwards. All the food was good, the drinks we had were good, and the service was good. The place was cute and looked like a lot of fun if you were in the front room!

So let's get down to the review business. 3 years ago I would have given this place 5-stars but let's take a look at why they've been dropped down 1 star. Their atmosphere is wonderful, the wall art is very on par with their brand and feel, their staff are very friendly and welcoming. The cleanliness of this place is what you'd expect from a very busy pizza venue; clean i the AM, crumbs in the PM, but never really "dirty". The food quality of their non-pizza options is on par & amazing. And I would say the same for their pizza, except a few years back they made a change to their Mozzarella and I have been greatly disappointed. Every time my partner and I dine on their pizza or mozzarella based food options we feel crumby afterwards. We've found that cheaper mozzarellas tend to have more oil leading to more tummy upsets. But I have to say the rest of their foods, the non-mozz options, are on par with an Italian pizzeria, wonderful, tasty, presented beautifully. Overall their food is wonderful, their staff are very friendly, and the business is clean & presentable. I'd recommend giving them a try yourself next time you're in St Albans.

What a pleasant surprise this was! I was coming to buy Girl Scout Cookies as they were being sold…read morethere yesterday (Friday) and I am a sucker for Girl Scouts as my nana spoiled me growing up and bought me boxes of Thin Mints whenever Girl Scout Cookie Season came around. Luckily, i was able to snag the last box of Thin Mints and a box of Trefoils, so I am not complaining. Since I was already at the location, I thought why not try the restaurant. I did not know what to expect and honestly I did not factor in that it was a buffet. Coming from Miami originally (though currently living in Saint Albans), I was lucky (no pun intended ^_^) to have had some really great buffets to experience in Miami, FL (ie. Kyojin in South Miami, Canton in Coral Gables, POC in Coral Gables) but I was craving Chinese food as I had not had any in so long. Lucky Buffet did not disappoint. They had sit down dining service as well as to go service. I am not sure if they deliver. If they did that would be amazing! But it was pretty busy which is always a good sign for a restaurant because it means they are doing good business and there is a demand for it. I ended up eating with my eyes and then my stomach because i filled 2 to go containers with a variety/assortment of foods like General Tso's chicken (my favorite), chicken & broccoli, crunchy and flavorful snap peas, crispy wonton noodles, very breaded/fluffy battered chicken tenders, and some vegetable fried rice that i doused in the General Tsao's sauce). I also got some of these Buttered scalloped potatoes which O-M-G were so darn good. They also had sliced onion mixed into the batch and no complaints there. It came out to a total of $38. There was a sign that said it was like $7.95 for pound of food and I figured I would splurge since I am not sure when I would be back there. I walk everywhere and in the cold, frigid temps, it's a bit cumbersome (and dangerous) to walk with food like that over icy sidewalks and slushy-muddy snow. I can't speak to what dining in would be like, but it seemed pretty decent. There was a steady flow of customers coming in and out which is always good to see. I also liked how they had fortune cookies sitting on display in the middle of the place for guests to take. I took about six lol I can't resist a good old fashioned fortune cookie:) If I ever happen to be walking by again, I would consider it again, but it is a lot of food. So you have to go on an empty stomach and also try not to over indulge or else you will have tummy issues. Chinese food is notorious for having MSG, but I am not sure if they use that there. I will say that they had a pretty decent dessert bar and ice cream selection. The people of Saint Albans are "lucky" to have this restaurant in their midsts. Also parking is pretty ample for those that have vehicles and the restaurant itself seemed pretty clean and well organized. If buffet items got low, they immediately would replenish them. The food was hot and ready to go. A plus was the little keychains being sold at the front at the counter. I had to get a Stitch one because I love the Stitch character. He's so cute ^_^ They also had a Spiderman one and Hello Kitty one so any fans of those characters would be pleasantly surprises and amused to see them being sold there once you check out and pay. Highly recommend this place.

It just doesn't…read morehave that feel, due to factors like flimsy paper napkins instead of cloth, glass-covered tables instead of tablecloths, etc. But first impressions from my limited experience (lunch consisting of a fried fish sandwich, a drink, and a "Citrus Tarte" for dessert) are it's a decent full-service sit-down restaurant, and locally owned (not a chain). Because this was lunch I didn't try any of their numerous seafood entrees. The fish was haddock. A single, thick piece of a generous size that fit the bun well. The fish was very fresh, flaked nicely, and the batter was crunchy, just the right thickness, and adhered to the fish without coming off. The brioche bun, butter-brushed and shiny on top, was fresh and slightly sweet. It's served open-faced with the lettuce (good greens, not iceberg) and tomato (a thick slab, pretty good for a restaurant tomato) on one side and the fish on the other. So the greens stay crisp and you can season to your liking and then assemble it. It was served with generously-sized lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side, and the waitress brought a bottle of Tabasco on my request. This comes with choice of one side. I chose french fries. I feel that it should come with two sides. A small portion of cole slaw would have been nice but I wasn't going to order a large portion a la carte. But the fries were excellent: standard cut, with skins, double fried but not greasy, and generously salted. Perhaps a little more fries than I needed. Half fries and half slaw would be better. It was the middle of the day so I didn't try any of their interesting sounding specialty cocktails, many of which included maple syrup this being Vermont. And the sangrias sounded interesting (2 kinds; the red included amaretto and the white, peach schnapps and Sprite, both made with fresh fruit). Instead, I got a Citizen's Cider, refreshing and bubbly, filling the pilsner glass to the brim, and just slightly sweet. Perfect. My waitress, and service overall, was good. There was a bit of a delay after ordering my drink, and I was very thirsty, but she eventually returned, with apologies for the delay, and also brought water at that time without asking. No other issues with service. She even noticed a mistake on the bill and corrected it before I even noticed: charged me for the wrong dessert, saving me a whole dollar! For dessert I got the "Citrus Tarte". From the description it sounded like a Key Lime Pie so I asked and she said that's basically what it is. I imagine the only difference is they use a generic lime juice or other citrus rather than key lime. It was ok but not spectacular. The filling wasn't really tangy enough and lacked that special key lime flavor. The crust, loosely pressed graham cracker, was very good, with more than the usual amount of salt. However, it was served with an excessive amount of whipped topping out of a spray can, and it was definitely not real cream. Moreover it was starting to melt so it was not attractive. I didn't use it. Either use real whipped cream - even if it's from a spray can - or leave it off completely please. The dessert was HUGE though. I wasn't planning to eat the whole thing but in the end I did. The place was clean but a bit run down. The floor was covered by outdated wall-to-wall carpeting and was stained (but not dirty). Wood paneling was chipped and in need of refinishing. Curtains on the windows have seen better days. Overall though, it's an attractive, comfortable place to eat. The bar was especially attractive with its dark wood and mirrors, and quirks like an antique grandfather clock (not woking) gave it a a homey feel. Bonus: I saw no television anywhere! Restroom was also clean. I don't know that I'd get an expensive seafood dinner here. But maybe I would. They do have quite a large selection, not all standards. I'm a bit bothered by their vagueness about sourcing, saying only "We strive to ... support local farms and other local vendors as much as possible." Without listing the names of those farms and vendors as is customary. And "as much as possible" really means nothing at all as far as I'm concerned. Ok, so first impression, based on a limited lunch experience, is 4 stars. This could go down or stay the same on a return visit and I'll update if that happens. It was good enough that I'd certainly consider a return visit someday.
