Food is sadly inconsistent. Have ordered takeout three times this season. Rangoons are typically delicious but last night they were tough at the edges with little cream filling. They forgot the peanut sauce on Rama Garden and Pad Thai consisted of dry cooked but flavorless vegetables. The exception was the cheesecake cupcakes. They were delicious. We might try them again in a month or two hoping the chef was on vacation. Been pretty good in the past. read more

Eh, next time I would pass on this place. With the Thai food guy in the Ice Arena closing up shop recently, this is perhaps the only Thai food place left on the island. Surprisingly they didn't have my favorites like Pad Prik Khing or Pad Ka Pao. Oh, but they have General Tso's Chicken and Orange Chicken! Are those really Thai specialties? (Rolls Eyes) Portions were skimpy. My entree was nothing to write home about. In fact, back home, there are about nine to ten other Thai places that make better Thai food. That's means just about every other Thai place back home is better than this place. Staff was weird, cold, and indifferent when i spoke to them. They have a policy of shutting down between the hours of 2 and 4 PM. When I asked some questions about it, it was like pulling teeth in trying to get answers. Like I said, next time, I'll just pass. I tired. I learned Nantucket isn't a good place to get my Thai food fix. I'll save it for when I return to the mainland. read more

Take the first right after the airport stop sign. The food was actually tasty, but a few things really inhibit the four star review. 1. Portion size of the actual "meat" - whether it be vegetables or the meat itself is minimal; the dishes are mostly sauce and rice. In the case of the spicy thai basil rice, the dish was a small handful of shrimp, a few slices of pepper and a small scoop of rice. 2. The chicken in the massaman curry was tough and not fresh tasting; super dry and stringy. Minus those two factors, the meal was solid. The massaman curry with avocado, onion and peanut was rich with a peanut/coconut sauce with a subtle spice. The spicy pagrow dish at spice level 3 definitely packed a punch, but wasn't overwhelming. I'd suggest if you like it super spicy definitely bump it up to a four or even five. The mixed veggies and tofu was thrown together. It was definitely the healthiest option of the three. Dishes are priced at $11-14 which is fairly priced for Nantucket, just wish there was bit more to the dish. The place itself is super casual with a takeout counter and a small room for dining in. Overall, if you're looking for some Thai food while on Nantucket, this ain't a bad option. read more

DO NOT VISIT!!! BUYER BEWARE! EVERY GOOD REVIEW WAS WRITTEN BY THE STAFF. There are plenty of restaurants on ACK to visit and actually enjoy a meal. Imagine wet soggy socks microwaved with no flavor. I think the high school lunch lady works here because it tastes like the worst high school lunch food. The cost is unreasonable for food that shouldn't even be served. I hope they go out of business soon so that an actual restaurant can move in and serve good food. This doesn't taste like food. Nantucket is hurting for good fresh Pacific Islander food. The Thai food Chinese food Vietnam food on Nantucket is not good at all. I love me some good pad Thai here it's watery and they seem like they use cheap Romain noodles . The fried food is greasy and has no taste. I have been here 3 times and sorry 3 strikes your out. There's honestly no excuse for any establishment to serve food this bad. I understand and appreciate all the challenges of running a restaurant on Nantucket - but if you're going to be open and serving customers you have to do better than this. Our entire family of four - all ordering different dishes - all threw out 80% of our food - as it was simply inedible. It isn't that hard - if you have the raw ingredients - to serve half-decent food - but the dishes being served by Nantucket Thai House are just terrible. You can rationalize all you want (about how this is the only or one of just a couple of Thai or Asian food establishments on the island) - but even with that in mind this food is terrible. Solid spot for Asian food. Nice, quick service. Can't go wrong with the spicy chicken. It's double fried so you get a nice crunch. Not authentic Thai food, but it's as good as you'll get on the island. I give it a solid thumbs up. My wife is happy and you know what they say, happy wife happy life. ;) read more

Ordered drunken noodles with chicken and some spring rolls. The spring rolls were standard and tasted good. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the drunken noodles. Normally in my experience noodles make up approximately 50-75% of the dish however in my dish it was only ~20%. The dish was primarily diced vegetables with a little chicken and noodles. We ordered over four hours early, scheduled delivery, had to chase down the delivery driver after the order was 100% wrong. He contacted the restaurant and said they'd make the correct order. Over an hour later they brought our order which was still missing items, this was after over $80 in convenience charges and tip... the food was decent but not even hot and was still incorrect. We called for an update on our order prior to delivery and a woman answers and says "so what's yours problem.......?" If you're okay with room temp food, 1.5 hour late delivery, and rude customer service then here's a great place for you. read more

I absolutely LOVE the Thai House! It is somewhat pricey, but so worth it! The service is wonderful, and the wait time is very short. Usually 15 minutes. The food is always amazing and cooked very quickly, but thoroughly. As I said, the service is amazing, the wait time is short, and I'd eat it every night if I could! :) Not to mention, they're almost always open, and they close rather late. Got takeout through delivery.com. Order was incomplete - the restaurant failed to include any dipping sauces with out apps (spring rolls, crab Rangoon, pork dumplings). When we called to complain and get relief, we were met with TOTAL INDIFFERENCE. The attitude was "so what, it's not our problem". So after spending nearly $100 for a take out meal, we were left with schlepping out to the restaurant to collect the rest of our order. Patronize this place at your peril. Excellent Thai Food, even by Nantucket's low standards. Everything is excellent. My only criticism is their curry dishes are 75% liquid and 25% meat/veggies, whereas in Boston, it's 75% meat/veggies and 25% liquid. In other words, you need to order a lot of food to fill up which can get really expensive. read more

Every Thai restaurant in the US I have tried, I LOVED. This dirty place has no idea how to make Thai food. The people are incredibly rude and non welcoming with no concept of basic manners. The owner literally glares at you, as if she is angry that you want to order food.? NO greeting, NO smiles, no "thank you for coming in." Most of the food is SO salty it is INEDIBLE. However, when I ask for a dish to be spicy, it will have NO spices, and NO salt. I gave them multiple chances, but they have extremely low standards. Old vegetables. old shrimp. Rude people. Went to Thai House on a neighbor's reco. Loved my take out meal. Had the crab Rangoon app and tofu pad Thai. Generous portions and both - excellent. Very friendly staff and the price is on point. I would definitely go back and would love for this restaurant to succeed. The island needs a spot like this especially for people who live out here year round.....when many summer stops close down for the season. read more

I tend to judge Thai places by how they do Pad Thai and Panang. The Pad Thai was only passing. It was acceptable but just not that great. The Shrimp Panang, however, completely made up for it and was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place for takeout though you may have to try a couple dishes to find one you truly love given my experience. Will update as I try additional items and see which way they rate but looking forward to more winners. read more

This rating is only for the sushi portion of their menu. We ordered a tuna roll, veggie roll, tempura shrimp roll and a deluxe tuna roll and all four were very basic, tasteless rolls. We threw most of the order in the trash. Their sushi rice is tasteless and their rolls are extremely uncreative, with just a chunk of decent grade tuna or a cucumber in the middle of a roll of rice, wrapped in nori. If this is your first sushi experience, you will be sure to go away from the meal not understanding the fuss over sushi, and how good it really can be. Don't spend your money on sushi here, unless you just won't eat anything else. It was decently fresh, just boring as h***. Stick to their tasty traditional Thai hot meals. Staff on their cell phones did not even notice when we walked in, we had to get their attention to be seated. Food was over cooked with little flavor, sad for a Thai restaurant. The Grapow (Kung Fu Basil) with ground chicken was probably the best I've ever had. The red curry w/ chicken is pretty standard, but good. The lad nar was a bit disappointing. I like this thai place because they can really make it spicy if you ask for it. I often get 5/5 spiciness at thai places and am barely phased, but here it was perfect. That being said I wouldn't order 5/5 spiciness unless you have high tolerance. read more

2.5 stars. This is a mixed review. There was good and a little not so good. I'm writing this review mostly to make others aware that this restaurant exists. If you are at the Nantucket Inn or airport, this is just up the street within walking distance to both...located just in front of the restaurant named A.K. Diamonds, which a lot of people probably know of. They serve a traditional Thai menu along with Sushi. We opted for the Thai. The place was ok, half of it was a modest eating area, the other half was the kitchen and a walk-up, take out kind of area. Nothing fancy, but it seemed clean and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Chicken with garlic sauce, and my copilot ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp. Prices for each dish was $10.99 each. The food came out quickly. My meal looked good, the vegetables were fresh and crisp, the sauce was spicy and the rice was good. I ordered it as spicy as they make it which is on a number scale of 1-5. It was spicy...not overly spicy where you didn't want to eat it, but just right if you like some heat. The sauce was tasty as was the whole dish...except the chicken. Yeah, the most important part of the dish was not that great. It didn't taste very fresh at all. It wasn't so bad that I couldn't eat it. I finished it all actually, but it was noticeable that it was not fresh, both in taste and texture. I've been in a Thai restaurant where I got chicken that was like this but much worse and I could not even eat it. Like I said, I ate it, I just didn't enjoy it (the chicken that is, the other parts of the dish were very good). My copilot said pretty much the same of her shrimp. She said it just tasted like it was frozen and had freezer burn. That could even be what was wrong with my chicken. We didn't get any spring rolls or drinks or anything else so I can't comment on that. Overall, if I find myself back at the Nantucket Inn without a car and don't feel like taking the shuttle into town, or am at the airport hanging around, I would give it another try in hopes that it would be fresher tasting next time and that was just a one time thing. read more

Don't eat at this place. This place was the most unfriendly place ever. Not sure why it has 4 stars. My food was very very poorly cooked. I tried to return it but the manager refused to make me something different or give me my money back. She said I could just take it back home and throw it out. After trying to compromise with her for 15 minutes a new customer came in and explained that it was the right thing to do if a customer didn't like the food. I feel so hurt by what happened there. I will NEVER go back and I will make sure my story is told in hopes that no one else will give these people their money I wish you could get a 0 on Yelp. read more
