Selfie Platter- best fried chicken I have EVER had!
    Morgan C.

Was lucky enough to stumble upon this super cute spot on Nantucket last night for an impromptu late night date night, and I am so glad that we did! The restaurant was pretty chill around 9:30pm, even though it is centrally located near the HyLine Ferry port. We saw the evening ferry come in, and had a front row seat to the taxi and luggage chaos outside while we sipped Diet Pepsi and root beer in air conditioning. So nice. The bartender, Chris, was knowledgeable about the menu (thank you for steering us away from the five meat and sides platter- our eyes were surely bigger than our stomachs!) and onto the Selfie, which was two meats and two sides with bread. It was actually perfect to share for a light dinner, and we left happy and full. My boyfriend opted for the Mac n' Cheese (actually very flavorful, and I loved the homemade-tasting pasta!) and the Burnt Ends (sauce was sweet and sticky goodness), and I had the Cornbread (kinda dry but still yummy), and THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN I HAVE EVER HAD. Let me TELL YOU. I have very low expectations for chicken and rarely order it when out for dinner. Too often I've been lead astray by dry and flavorless bird entrees, and it ends up being a waste of time and money. However, after a long day of walking around Nantucket, I was starving and only fried chicken would do. This was truly S-Tier. Flavorful, moist, and cronchy- I almost both ordered another serving AND risked missing the ferry the next day to go back and get more. It's truly that good. BACK Yard Barbecue is yes, a New England BBQ restaurant, however, this is arguably some of the greatest fried chicken I've had in a long time. Coupled with the friendly service and relaxed atmosphere, you can't go wrong for pre-or-post ferry noshing!

Third time we've eaten here. Nice go-to off season. Delicious BBQ, sauces, and of course the Cisco beers! A great staff and just wonderful service. Priced very reasonably too! Clean BBQ with that old styled southern menu and charm in Nantucket. A very high recommendation!

This was one of the quietest restaurants on the wharf and it seems completely overlooked. However, it definitely packs the most taste and has the absolute sweetest service. There's a plethora of different games on the big screens throughout the restaurant so there's plenty to keep you occupied, but the food is certainly the star of the show. The sauces have great flavor and I'm always a sucker for a good tater tot!

The nachos are said to be 'island famous' and I can see why! They were amazing!!! The meat was so flavorful, along with the addition of the guac. The cheese sauce really topped it to another level. Great drinks, lots of TV's to watch sports, and our waiter was awesome.

    Pulled pork nachos

Would do 4.5 if I could!! I cannot stress enough how attentive the service was. Our waitress and the manager were kind, accommodating, and made sure we had everything we needed! Super kind when we asked to move to the patio. We got the pulled pork nachos and they were amazing!! If you're a BBQ person this place is a must try.

With incredibly tender chicken and fall off the bone ribs this is a must try for any meat lovers! The bartender was very friendly and was a fantastic host.

BYB is always the go to for quick delicious bbq, staff is great, friendly and always serve a delicious cold draft beer! Bbq is what you expect from nantucket, juicy, flavorful, Smokey. Always go to for lunch or to watch a game on one of their many Televisions.

So this was my hangover food before I got on the ferry. Real good dry rub bbq wings and ribs. This is actually a really good barbecue restaurant and they do have sauces that you can add on to the dry rub. They have really good Bloody Mary made by very friendly bartender Chris. ( He's famous) This was a good choice before we left Nantucket.

I met an old friend here for dinner on a Saturday night at 6pm in late Sept. There were plenty of tables open. Nice touch here is that they serve all the local Cisco beers and spirits. I started with a Triple 8 Martini. BBQ can really aggravate my acid reflux - so while I love it - I gotta be careful. I wasn't super hungry - so I ordered the smoked chicken wings (dry rub) and a side of their Mac and cheese. The wings were nice and smokey and very flavorful, and they were nice and meaty. The mac and cheese was super creamy and really hit the spot of decadence. It was nice that they did not rush us at all and we could chat without feeling like we had to free up a table. I got the sense that this is a spot on the island that the locals embrace too.

    Smokehouse Benedict $24
    Dave F.

Saw an IG post about their breakfast and made sure to stop by to grab their smokehouse benedict. They put poached eggs on top of layers of pastrami on top of cornbread with a side of home fries. I maybe got less bearnaise sauce as I had seen in the photo, but I did also take it to go. The poached eggs were done perfectly and I was able to try each of their three bbq sauces throughout. It was a solid meal to start the day. The guys behind the bar were very friendly as well. I would come back to eat here for lunch or dinner.

    Crab Dip.
    Candace G.

We sat at the bar and were greeted by Gus. He was very attentive and offered us a lot of good suggestions for beer and food. The crab dip was creamy and full of flavor. The NE Clam Chowder was delicious and filling. The pulled pork was delicious and not at all greasy. The truffle fries were delicious. We would definitely come back.

Perfect warm lobster roll and street corn salad...that might be the best thing I have eaten.

Inside is designed with bunch of boards with drawings and comments from previous customers. Place was somewhat busy with most seats filled when we got there. We were seated right away and given menu to order. We ordered some seafood boil to share. We got 2lb shrimp, 1lb snow crab, 1lb clam and side of cajun rice and garlic noodle. Food came out within few minutes. Garlic noodle and cajun were decent. The cajun rice was kind of stuck together and not mixed well. Would have liked more ingredients and flavor they used for seafood boil. Seafood boil was pretty good. We got one bug bag with just cajun sauce and 1 shrimp with house sauce. They put a lot more spice on larger bag so they had a lot kore flavor where smaller bag din't have too much flavor and was watered down. Even so overall the seafood was good. Little bit of de shelling and messy but thats usually the case for seafood boil. I like to mix some of the seafood juice onto garlic noodle/cajun rice to add more flavors. Service was good and waitress was very attentive. The place was very cold as it was cold outside and probably not well insulated. It ended up cooling our food while we were rating which was a bummer. Overall it's a solid cajun seafood boil place. But nothing really stood out compared to others that I had. I would recommend if you are around the area and craving for cajun seafood boil but there are better places out there.

We called in to ask what the situation is and you can tell English isn't their first language so communication was very difficult. We explained to them our situation and they kept on trying to explain to us what happened and we kept trying to confirm what is going on but the answer kept changing. In the end, we were told to ordered AGAIN. So we did and paid twice and hoped they'll refund our first order. It's 10:00pm and we are still hungry and waiting for food. We spoke to three different people and not a single one really understood the situation or know what was going on. Now, we are currently en route to pick up our order and we ordered delivery.... Edit... after I've finally picked up my food, I have to update my review. The first part of my review is NOT on the resturant. It's on Uber eats and maybe I'm biased but I just hate Uber in general. Edited again!!! I just looked at the photos by the "business owners" on Yelp. Be warned, that is NOT that resturant. They don't make alcoholic beverages nor does the food actually looked mixed well enough like that. That is false advertisement. Look at my photos and you can see. **do not order through Uber eats or Grubhub or DoorDash. Just order through them. They deliver and they won't up charge you. Plus, Uber eats fudged my order twice by canceling as well as taking the food and disappearing. First, I got the Cajun style clams and mussels. As well as the free garlic noodles per promo of Uber eats. Spicy level was hot. The sauce wasn't entirely mixed which was fine since I'm weird and I tend to like the clumps of raw Cajun sauce. Mussels were normal sized but the clams could definitely be a lot bigger. I've been to shaking crab in both providence and Braintree and to be honest, you're better off going to those restaurants for good eating. But!!! If you are really in desperate need of Cajun food while in Fall River, this place is your go to. The garlic noodles was very... Chinese food inspired. You can tell from my picture that it's basically lomein cooked with minced garlic. Conclusion... If quality of ingredients were legit shaking crab quality chain store, then this would be a lot higher of a rating. Went in in person to meet the owners and they are nice folks but It was super frustrating at first because of Uber messing up our order, and finally making us wait 5 hours and then to drive to the resturant to get our order past closing hours. But it's honestly just your typical Chinese resturant trying to make an imitation of shaking crab. Not bad for Fall River? But not up to par with the actual chain.

The burger was lacking flavor. It was supposed to be dusted with creole, which could not be detected. The onions on the burger were way over cooked and had zero flavor. The scallion aioli saved the burger to add some flavor. The onion rings were overly greasy and most of them were soggy. I will chalk my experience as a bad night for the French Quarter, but I weighed out my dinner mates meal, with a good drink, and a bad meal to give them three stars.
