Portions are generally pretty generous. However some of the combinations could be better thought through. Some of the items are pretty messy (perhaps it's intentional). If you get the lobster salad, demand that the lettuce be substituted for something simpler like romaine. read more

Arrived and were greeted by the hostess team. They were friendly and accommodating. Maddie was our server which she was friendly as well and efficient! I had the New England clam chowder and the lobster roll Connecticut style. Both were flavorful and hardy. I was full after and relaxed. The view is homes and the ocean while sitting and listening to great tunes. I do have to share for the owners sake on training that one star missing is due to the restrooms being unkept with urine splattered on the floor, urine in the toilet and a dirty toilet. Had I gone in there first, I may have not stayed for a bite to eat. Perhaps assign on team member as a floater with the assignment of keeping the restroom spotless. Hope this helps. read more

We ate at Millie's twice this week while we were here. Once for lunch and once for dinner! We will definitely go back when we come again. We sat out front at a picnic table and our servers both times were excellent! We were waited on professionally and our food was delivered promptly! Came to Madaket to see the sunset and placed a pickup order from Millie's through doordash. The order was ready very quickly and I was on my way. They have a little picnic area to eat your take out food. This is a separate area from the outdoor seating for the restaurant and is located to the left of Millie's market. The sweet grilled corn (elote) was delightful and had a nice char flavor. The shrimp and veggie quesadilla was not greasy even though there was cheese inside. There were mango bits inside which felt refreshing. The sour cream and salsa complimented the meal well. The corn clam chowder was not overly creamy and heavy. This left room for dessert at Millie's market. The service was quick and efficient and overall I would give a pass to the food here! It is pretty much the only restaurant in Madeket and they sure made a mark. I would come back again to try their breakfast! My family and I had one of our most memorable meals here. You can't beat the view, and the vibe really hit the spot. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Great location near the beach. They have a parking lot and I am ever so grateful they have staff to manage traffic going in and out of the lot. There is a wait to get seated. We didn't have to wait that long though. We got seated on one of the outdoor picnic tables which was great! I mean, the weather in Nantucket is temperate, so we got to enjoy it while we can, right? As soon as we got seated, we got our menus and water handed to us right away. I don't know how, but our server Margot somehow could tell when we're ready or when we need her. Dare we say best value on the island? Especially if you are a lobster fan. The Gibbs salad has the biggest chunks of lobster that it would be hard pressed to find a more substantial lobster salad on Nantucket. Hack- get a the creamy basil dressing as extra on the side of the salad. The creamy dressing is the perfect extra complement to the salad. The lobster quesadilla was absolutely stuffed with lobster and enough for two meals. Millie's gets busy pretty early at the evening but the service is quick and attentive and food gets delivered quickly. Come before 5pm if you want to get dinner and then catch the sunset on the beach. Indoors can get a bit loud with how popular Millie's is, but there are two outdoor patios that have lots of tables and full service. Next door to Millie's is the market which has some drinks and ice cream - so make sure to check it out after dinner! read more

We were at your restaurant this past weekend, Saturday August 30. The plan was for my wife and I, as well as my son's girlfriend's parents to wait there while my son was proposing to his beautiful girlfriend on the beach. We would surprise his fiancé at your place after the proposal. When your staff found out why we were there they were very enthusiastic to help make this visit even more memorable. We didn't go upstairs but from arriving, we could tell this place is hopping and has a ton of crowds going throughout the day. They had tents up so people were sitting outside but we were able to snag a spot at the bar. Great bartenders and servers, the drinks that my friends ordered looked delicious (margs seem to be their forte!). We ordered chips and dip trio and it came out almost immediately. The guac is nice and chunky and I personally was not a fan of the salsa but it had a tangy/cilantro taste to it, if you're into that! We stayed a little later so eventually got to a real table and ordered food. I ordered the shrimp po boy and was astounded by how giant the shrimp were. Needless to say, I was stuffed after my meal. Been going here for over 30 yrs. This might have been our best trip yet but honestly, never had a bad one. It started in the mid-90s with a legendary day of noon-8pm mudslides and great friends as the day slipped by. This was one of our favorite restaurants on the island and the only one within walking distance of us as we were staying in Madaket. All the casual but elevated dishes we tried here were excellent, and I got to satisfy my lobster cravings multiple times in salads and quesadillas where they didn't skimp at all on the prime ingredient. Although pricey, it was definitely no worse than any other restaurant on the island, but was easier to get into last minute and the only place we visited multiple times. It's a really cool place. Have been here once before and loved it. However, our second time here will be our last time here. Arrived at 7:45 for our 8pm reservation. We were sat at almost 9pm. We had the altar rock trio app which was very good. The problems then started there. Our food took over an hour to come out after ordering. It got to a point where everyone was cheering when their food came because it took so long. Food was lackluster at best. Lobster roll was extremely mediocre, no butter, no mayo, no garnish just cold lobster on a bun. Cisco was good, we enjoyed that. Rhode Island quesadilla as well, steak had no salt or pepper on it, very bland. Overall, food was just not worth the steep price tag Then there was the rice side. So weird, cold bland rice with veggies and no way to change the side according to our server. After one bite no one touched it. TLDR: I'm sure there's some great stuff here, but there's just so much better food elsewhere especially where you don't have to wait ages for a table. read more

We returned to Millie's hoping for a good dinner a few nights ago and after the meal have decided we won't be back. Everything seems premade on their menu and out from the kitchen to your table in minutes lacking flavor. Our order included: 1. Guacamole and chips, hands down the worst guacamole I have ever tasted. Filled with some type of preservative that made it taste carbonated. 2. Kids steak taco - un-seasoned steak in a tortilla with a side of rice and fruit (grapes and clementine segments) 3. Moors End Farm Salad - this was ok according to my party member who ordered it but it lacked seasoning. 4. Pocomo Tacos - lacking flavor, thrown together and tasted like "cafeteria food" 5. Rhode Island Avenue - the sever apologized for how much later this arrived to the table compared to everyone else's food as theirs was at the table within 5 minutes. My meal was clearly the only freshly cooked one but again the steak lacked seasoning and was very chewy. Enough so that I took it all out and ate the quesadilla without it. We have eaten at Millie's every summer for years but the food has progressively gone downhill for the last 3 seasons. I do not leave a negative review to hurt the restaurant but I hope they will read this and take the time to consider a different approach to their quality of food. Having freshly cooked food properly seasoned as well as the ability to change proteins or adjust the meals to one's food restrictions/preferences would greatly enhance the diners experience. read more

Millie's is a SoCal vibe in Nantucket, where everything fresh and from the sea meets expert preparation and flair that is rarely seen in such a highly affluent area. This isn't super intricate or delicate food. It's a more simple preparation and just treating the ingredients with respect and having a deft hand with seasoning. Whether you are talking about lobster, slow-cooked pork, locally-caught fish or seafood, it just all feels so perfectly balanced when you look at the entire plate of food. We ordered probably 12 different dishes and no one was disappointed with any of the items ordered. We not only ate outside at the picnic tables, under a tent, but also got chips+queso+margaritas to go (to the nearby beach). They offer a lot of value and food for the money you spend. The staff and process in being seated and served was seamless. The eating area was clean and spotless, after being sanitized in front of us before we sat. I don't care where you are on the island - make sure you get to Millie's... and if you need a suggestion - look for the Lobster Roll under the "Po'Boys"... where it "hides"!!!! read more

This was once a local favorite. It has become more popular now. They do not take reservations (at least for now) and there is almost always a wait. But it is well worth it! They will text you when the table is ready. You are able to sit outside and get drinks while you wait. You just order at the window and find a tall table. They do have takeout as well. Their drinks are yummy and I love their tacos and quesadillas (40th Pole). The food is tex-mex but not as greasy or cheesy as other restaurants on the mainland. I HIGHLY recommend their Mexican corn. I live in SF and was visiting a friend on the island. She recommended Millie's so off we went. I know what is like to live in an expensive city, but I will happily pay for a good meal. This was not a good meal. The food seemed prepped ahead of time and then microwaved. It was too salty. It was not at all what we expected. Besides that, I guess it was a long, hard summer because the employees (short staffed for sure) apparently thought that if they ignored us, we would go away.
