I have been wanting a head spa experience since I first learned about it last fall so I was very…read moreexcited as Mia led me through the hushed, elegant corridor of the spa to the treatment room. There was a lamp that shone stars and nebulas on the walls and ceiling and created a really cool and soothing atmosphere. I lay on a table like a low massage table (but with the part under your upper body covered in plastic). My head was over a sink and Mia proceeded to scrub my scalp like it had never been scrubbed before. Time seemed to stand still as there was scrubbing, shampooing, conditioning, heavenly massage of the neck and shoulder areas, an arm and hand massage while my scalp got a steam treatment, then my hair was combed out and gently blow-dried (I did not opt for the blow-out with styling add-on). It was incredibly relaxing, my scalp never felt better and my hair was extremely clean, soft and smooth.

He was able to pin point all my pain without me telling him! Amazing. My husband's wasn't as good according to him. He said it was so bad, he walked out before his 90 minutes. I think it was only 30 minutes. He said he kept telling her to do it harder but there's no pressure. The owner made it right when she saw him walked out. She recommended another. He said she did a way better job. Thank you for making it right.

They have multiple hot and cold pools, several themed heated rooms with different temperatures, saunas, and a variety of spa and beauty treatments if you're looking to make a full day of it. If you're thinking about going, try to take advantage of one of their weekday specials (listed on their direct website) as they make the experience a much better value. The facility was clean, relaxing, and it was easy to spend several hours there just moving between the different rooms and pools. They also have a food court with various foods and drinks. Even as someone who isn't normally into spas, I can appreciate how unique the experience is.

We grabbed lunch at the café, and everything we ordered was delicious. Afterward, we enjoyed the outdoor bade pool and jacuzzis, which was a wonderful and relaxing experience. A couple of things to know before you visit: the locker rooms, showers, and body scrub area are fully nude, so be prepared if it's your first time. Also, shoes are not permitted throughout the facility. You can wear socks or purchase a pair there. Children 12-17 are welcome if they are with an adult of the same gender. Overall, we had an amazing experience and would definitely return for another spa day.

Hey yall, I…read moreTRAVELED 30 mins outside of DC, just to come visit SPA WORLD! I contemplated between here and SPA KING which isn't too far from here! The price difference and the amenities got me!! Spa world $29 on Groupon for a 12 hour experience with 7-8 rooms, and the full spa bath area amenities super worth every dollar and min! Time goes by sooo fast when ur having a good time! Got there at 2pm, stayed till 8:30pm! Had a ball. The spa king was $100 entry for the spa amenities but it's really pretty big and nice inside there and I wish to go before my trip is over maybe or next time I come into town! Anyways, what I liked, the price and what you get, it was fairly decently clean and the people were nice! What I didn't like, they are strict lol they must had been watching me on camera cuz 2 staff came up to me to tell me put my spa clothes on and or don't talk on the phone in any of the rooms people are in, otherwise I'm happy with my first time experience! Thanks again! Will hope to be back! I'm from out of town by the way and I wish to eat at the inside restaurant some day, I also like how the bakery is next door! Thanks

I've been coming to and loving the relaxation of Spa World since they opened--more than 15…read moreyears--and I'm incredibly disappointed by how much the prices have increased while the quality and customer service have declined. The bade pool has always been one of my favorite parts of Spa World and is normally around 95-98°F, a comfortable temperature for soaking before a Korean body scrub. Today it was hovering between 102-103°F--essentially hot-tub temperature. Even the kiddie pool was too hot. In the middle of a D.C.-area heat wave, who wants to come inside from 90+ degree weather and soak in 102-degree water? On a Sunday, the usually busy bade pool was practically empty, with people instead hovering around the ice plunge because there really wasn't a comfortable-temperature pool to use. I let the attendant know and another staff member. No change. This is especially frustrating because you're supposed to soak for about 30 minutes before a body scrub to soften the skin. I couldn't comfortably do that and had to use the showers instead. Management showed no interest in adjusting the pool temperature or otherwise addressing the problem. I was still paying the now-$150 price for my 50-minute spa special scrub. I simply asked that they refund my $25 admission because the primary facility I came to use was essentially unusable. The manager looked at me like my request was ridiculous and refused and insisted the temperature of the main pool fluctuates. (Of course it does, but NOT THAT HOT!) After more than 15 years as a loyal customer, it's astonishing that Spa World would rather lose me as a customer than address the problem or refund $25. I won't be back.
