I want to love this place, but I never really get anything there that I feel is above average. Staff is great, but food is so-so.

We met friends here for lunch and it was all of our first time here. The food is ok. Weird selections and the service was almost non existent. All 4 of ordered didn't appitizers and different meals, though they were attractive on the plate nothing tasted great. I liked the chai tea and that was about the only thing I found inspirational about our experience. The food was cold or slightly warmbut again nothing was what it should have been. I think we all sort of found it comical. The final straw was at the end of our entrée, we sat for 20 minutes and no one came back to our table. We all wanted to try different deserts so after 20 minutes I had give a loud "excuse me" to draw attention - did I mention we were the ONLY people in the restaurant - and the waiter came with the check and walk away. Just rude in my opinion and very bad service. Non of us were impressed with anything in this restaurant. I just don't understand what they are trying to accomplish. I can't recommend this place for anything, even if you're craving Thai food. read more

The food here was delicious. My husband and I came here for dinner, to start we ordered the steak patay, and the curry chicken puffs which were delicious, he then ordered the special hot pot mixed seafood talay for his main course and was very pleased. Its a smaller place and only had 3 other guests but it was a very nice ambiance, I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Very cute place. Nice(ish) waiter who got annoyed easily while we were ordering even though they seemed to be having a slow day and there was literally no one else in the restaurant. Vegetable dumplings were bland and mushy. My boyfriend had the wings and calamari... now he has food poisoning and has been throwing up nonstop for the second night now. Says that his insides feel like they're burning. Not going back. If you go I recommend you only order from the vegan or vegetarian options, unless you'd like to risk getting sick from they're undercooked/contaminated meat! Definitely not my favorite Thai food and I'm a Thai lover. Maybe it's a New York thing, and how dare I complain? Idk but honestly the pad Thai had a bitter after taste. Fits the bill for last minute Thai food - as we have very little options in the vicinity. Unfortunately not great Thai food. My usual favorite is Pad Thai - but skip this here. It really disappoints. The Tom Kha Gai soup was great but a little heavy with mushrooms for my taste. We also had the Massaman Curry dish. It was delicious. Similar taste to a pad Thai. They have seating in their sunroom which has large windows and nice view. Very nice, calming atmosphere. read more

Food is tasty and well seasoned, however, there is very little other than sauce in the green curry with beef. It was very unsatisfying! At least add more vegetables! The pineapple fried rice and Duck Pad Kee Mao were good, But duck a bit dry. The mango sticky rice was inedible as we could not even cut the sticky rice with a knife. I have eaten here before and it was much better. I am hoping it was just an off night. I would try again because there aren't many options around, however, they need to up their game. read more

This area was desperately in need of a place like this - and the number of cars in the parking lot prove it. Our meal was delicious - we had spring rolls (stuffed with sweet potato I think? Probably would not have them again) and the Green Papaya Salad to start, the chicken hot basil and the pad Thai. Both meals were fantastic and full of flavor. The range on the menu was great, and there were lots of authentic options. The veggies looked fresh and they had brown rice. THey have a great view of the sunset and hopefully there will be some outside seating as the weather warms up? A few kinks still need to be worked out - they were really understaffed the night we were there, both in the dining room and the kitchen. No liquor license yet, blaring George Michael music. It looks like the Astoria operation is successful, and I am sure this one will be too. We would recommend to a friend for sure. Can't wait to go back. read more

Will probably try this place again (most likely due to lack of local options and close proximity), but not too soon. Inside was clean, and the staff seem friendly. I love thai food, but my chicken dish, was way too sweet. Maybe the dish is the Thai version of sweet and sour chicken that Chinese American places sell to Americans, but I really dont think any thai dish should be that sweet. Soup was fine, and my wife, well, i cant comment on her dish since I am not a fan of her 'vegetable' pad thai selection. read more

If your really into Thai food then you'll really think this is pretty mediocre. The papaya salad had way too much fish sauce. The Penang was a bit too thick. All in all it's just OK. Not bad, just ok. I feel absolutely no desire to try it again. read more

My husband and I love Thai food and we opted to try this restaurant last night. The ginger miso salad was excellent. For dinner we ordered the chicken massaman curry and pad thai with chicken. The massaman curry didn't taste quite right - it was as if it was missing an ingredient, but we couldn't figure out what it was. And the chicken was was over-cooked and tough. The pad thai was WAAAY too salty and it just didn't taste much like pad thai. It was also a dark brown color (which is not typical for pad thai) and the chicken on this dish was also overcooked. Perhaps they used soy sauce (not a typical ingredient in pad thai) which would account for the saltiness, strange taste, and the dark brown color (???). Unfortunately, we won't be back. We will continue to go to the Thai restaurant in Carmel, NY that we enjoy very much that do a nice job with these same main dishes. read more

Pretty Good... I went the take-out route this week-end. When I arrived to pickup my order the inside looked nice and from what I could see the outside deck had a nice view. I had ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and asked that it be made spicy. I didn't get my hopes up because when I ask for spicy at most restaurants it still comes out bland and I am left disappointed. Thai Elephant 2 got it just right!!! It kind of went down hill from there though. The chicken as mentioned in some of the other reviews was dry and the peanuts were soft instead of dry and crunchy. I also did not see any of the scrambled egg in it that I am used to seeing and the price was a bit high considering how little chicken and tofu there was. Overall I would order the Pad Thai again from this restaurant because they got the spiciness right and they are the only Thai restaurant in the area. There is room for improvement.... I like chicken satay with peanut sauce and I plan on trying it next time. read more

I SO wanted to like this restaurant. As a previous reviewer said, we definitely need a decent ethnic restaurant not another Italian place. The location is nice, has a nice view. Service was pleasant enough. I've eaten at countless Thai restaurants and we cook SE Asian quite a bit, so we are familiar with the ingredients, recipes, etc. My husband and I figured we'd try some pretty simple items that are hard to mess up to get a "baseline". We had a chicken sate to start- the peanut sauce was fine, the chicken was not marinated, and WAY overcooked- fried not grilled. The cucumber sauce was very heavy on the fish sauce. BUT ok- hopefully the main course would be better. I ordered the Thai Beef Salad, which is usually light cooked thin beef that is marinated with veggies and greens. The dish arrive with NO salad, the beef was so far gone it was like leather, the sauce was thick, gloppy and super sweet with none of the normal fresh light flavors of cilantro,lime, sesame oil etc normally found in this dish. I can't remember the last time I sent a dish back at a restaurant, but I couldn't eat it. Next I ordered THE most simple dish I could think of Pad Thai. I *was* able to eat it- but it had a strong taste of burnt oil from the fryer and at least they are consistent- the chicken was super overcooked. I'm really bummed since we would be regulars at a decent Thai place. This was mall food court chinese at BEST. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. I ate here a while ago and frankly it is this worst food I have ever paid for and regret even walking in the door. I wouldn't feed this food to my dog.
