Pad Se Ew with Veggies & Green Curry w/ Chicken
    Renee D.

Needed a night off from meal prep. Something close to home and delicious at a fair price. Hopped on Yelp and saw a couple of friends reviews. It's been ages since I've dined here. Originally came here all the time when I was an undergrad at OXY. Ordered the Pad Se Ew with Veggies and Green Curry with chicken to be picked up. Price $35.01, left a $6 tip. Order was ready and packaged nicely for the ride home. Food was hot and freshly made. Veggies were al dente, just the way we like them. Eggplant in the curry was cooked perfectly. Overall exactly what we were expecting. Next time I think I'll ask for extra spicy. We didn't dine in, so couldn't add any chilies

    Hair in my pad Thai

The food here is flavorful but bad quality. It's unfortunate because I love the pad Thai and yellow curry. The last time I ordered the yellow curry, the potato was completely raw. This time when I ordered it, it came in a very small bowl, half the size of the one I got last time. Absolutely not worth the price. I also ordered the pad Thai, which had a hair in it. I called them to tell them about it and they didn't care, saying "I can't do anything about it." Won't be ordering from here again.

BBQ Steak Thai Style. $16.95 small plate only; comes with steak & small salad. Rice is an extra $3. Steak was a little chewy. Not worth it.

It was quiet in there like most times. I typically get takeout food which for one person runs about $20. I feel like the food is pricey. It tastes alright, depending on what you get. The Pad Sew Ew is pretty good with either beef or chicken. I'm not a fan of the orange chicken...I don't really like the sauce. Service was fine, no complaints. I don't really see this place as busy whenever I get take-out or pass by, even on the weekends. My issue and reason for the rating is due to the price of the food and what you get. 1. Rox Sampler Platter = $17.95 -3 cream cheese rangoons -3 egg roll wrapped shrimp -3 battered shrimp -2 glass noodle egg rolls It was pretty underwhelming for the price, just basic fried food. The egg rolls & rangoons were good, the others tasted overly fried. 2. Chicken curry bowl $15.95 (the bowl was small and not very filling) +Steamed rice for $3 (this was extra) 3. BBQ Steak Thai Style $16.95 Small plate that only came with the steak and small salad and sauces *I didn't get the rice as it was an extra $3 and was still hungry afterwards I'll only go here every now and then. If you have the money then by all means eat here, but for those who are budget-conscious, this really isn't the place for you.

(Dined 06/07/25 SA @ 8:00pm): Some rocking Thai food in Eagle Rock! A longtime dear friend and I caught up with each other at Thai Eagle Rox. Neither of us have eaten here, so we were both excited to try it since we loved Thai food, and it was near her church. I could eat this cuisine every day because it was so varied depending on the region of the country, it was fairly healthy, and usually quite affordable. Would their Thai food rock us in a good way!? PURCHASE Boon Raid Brewery Singha Pale Lager Beer 5.0% ABV 11.2floz Bottle ($6.00): Amber honey color, honey malt aroma, low body, light malty flavor, clean effervescent finish, and a light malty sweet aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=eTEFt9hmGGjmCNT7okvcFw Thai Beverage PLC Chang Classic Pale Lager Beer 5.0% ABV 11.2floz Bottle ($6.00): Amber honey color, honey malt aroma, low body, light malty flavor, clean smooth finish, and a light malty sweet aftertaste. Probably my favorite Thai beer! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=0A6sweoxFTHJzdmjV0a37w Grupo Modelo Modelo Especial Lager Beer 4.5% ABV 12floz Bottle ($6.00): A favorite Mexican beer of mine, my friend was throwing this one back! Tom Yum Soup w/Chicken Pot ($14.95): A spicy lemongrass soup filled with mushrooms and cilantro and your choice of chicken, tofu, or vegetables, we opted for chicken which was a first for me (I've always had it with shrimp which would've been $2.00 extra). The portion size was good, there was a ton of chicken strips and bobbing mushrooms with noticeable spiciness but not enough to clear my nasal cavity. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=dnFAWKS7ZaXQID21J0lDMw Pad Se Ew w/Vegetables ($14.95): Made with flat rice noodles, pad se ew sauce, egg, and broccoli, we opted for a mixed vegetable version of this which was another first for me. The portion size was good; however, there wasn't much flavor nor spiciness, so it kind of fell "flat". https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=Rf1zuIfi4_lxjMqWLkHM4g Pineapple Shrimp And Chicken Fried Rice ($16.95): Made along with curry spices, onions, raisins, cashews, egg, and green bell peppers, there were plenty of sweet pineapple chunks, a decent amount of shrimp, and minimal but big chicken pieces. The portion size was decent, but again, there wasn't enough distinct flavor or spiciness. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=qkVTnKenNRI-tzjgKa-xPw 3pc BBQ Pork Ribs ($15.95): Marinated pork ribs smothered in a slightly tangy BBQ sauce on a bed of broccoli, each rib was equally fatty and meaty which I loved. Although the meat fell off the bone, it was a tad dry while the broccoli soaked up the sauce. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=iDF8YnOgcNbu1tVvHsMakQ SERVICE I was greeted by a man and woman behind the counter as I approached them. The woman allowed me to pick an open table (I took one next to a front window so I could watch for my friend) and handed me menus and two glasses of water while I waited. Once my friend arrived, our female server waited patiently until we finally placed our order nearly twenty minutes later - sorry! Soon enough, everything came out in procession within ten minutes. She checked in on us periodically, boxed our leftovers, and never made us feel rushed. Thank you for your patience! PARKING (FREE) I found parking on a nearby residential side street. Otherwise, it was either along the main drag of York Blvd. or other side streets (please read all posted signs) - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A simple layout with a comfortable interior filled with several tables, a counter that looked into the kitchen, plenty of cultural decorations https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=Ux6bnbPlK9LJGDo4EPB93g throughout, and a side outdoor patio area. Plenty of natural lighting came through the front door and windows while ample electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. I didn't notice any TVs while pop music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=C9iy3XHGlkwD37j_jV_qKQ ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Thai Eagle Rox was good, and I would probably try them again. However, they needed to increase the flavor and spiciness of their dishes. The menu was varied enough, the prices comparable, and the service was kind. Plus, whenever possible, I loved to support a local small business. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $89.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... The jolly Italian giant (aka my nephew) came over the other day and surprise, surprise...he was hungry! He knows his aunt doesn't cook, so it was Grubhub to the rescue. The kid wanted Thai, so we decided to give this place a try. I let him pick what he wanted, and he ordered: Pad Thai, Pad Se Ew, & the Rox Sampler, which consisted of Fried Shrimp, Shrimp Rolls, Veggie Egg Rolls, and Crab & Cream Cheese Rangoons. He was considerate and requested both noodle dishes without meat. It was my first time having Pad Se Ew. The sauce gave it a nice flavor, and I liked the flat rice noodles. They were soft but not mushy. I haven't had Pad Thai in years, and this hit the spot. Everything in the Rox Sampler was perfectly fried, crispy, and not greasy. We both enjoyed our meal and would order from here again.

    Jeff C.

I liked it. Nice little neighborhood Thai spot. Inside is simple with tasteful Thai decorations. A few tables but also a small side patio with additional seating. My friends and I came in for dinner and got the spicy garlic wings. They have a nice crunch. The spicy comes from the chili sauce. Was craving fried rice and got the combination fried rice and that really hit the spot. Also got the yellow curry, a good reliable choice. Will definitely be coming back to try more. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's street parking but you might have to walk a block or two.

Thai Eagle Rox is a neighborhood favorite that never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious, portions are generous, and the service is always warm and friendly. I ordered the Pad See Ew and it was spot on--perfectly chewy noodles with a rich, smoky flavor. The green curry is another must-try: creamy, spicy, and loaded with fresh veggies and tender meat. You can really taste the care that goes into every dish. The restaurant has a relaxed, cozy vibe and is great for both dine-in and takeout. It's also one of the few places that's open a bit later, which is super convenient. If you're in the Eagle Rock area and craving Thai, Thai Eagle Rox should be at the top of your list. Great flavors, fair prices, and a welcoming atmosphere--can't ask for more!

Food was good but bummed there was a piece of plastic in my food. When i called they wouldn't give me a refund unless i drove the 5 miles back to return the food?? Like why would i lie. I've come here for years and am very disappointed with their response to my phone call / over all situation

Hair in our food. Unfortunately in the orange chicken. Spent $102 on DoorDash. We stopped eating the food. The orange chicken is fried too crispy and the orange sauce given on the side. Not tasty at all. Small crunchy pieces of chicken. Along with hair

It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity. The braised pork belly was so incredibly soft and melt-in-your-mouth, and paired with the pickled carrots and cucumbers tucked into that steamed bao bun - so juicy. Our server was very friendly and helpful in what we should order, and we felt very well taken care of during our visit. Over the course of the evening, we ordered the peach cocktail, strawberry goat cheese jasmine cocktail, Tommy's margarita, and kumquat apricot cocktail. My favorites were the first two - you could really taste all the components in them, so complex and interesting!! The kumquat apricot was also fun and refreshing for a hot night. The margarita was fine. Full disclosure - I ordered this drink because the ingredients looked really unique and interesting but I don't like Mezcal because it usually overpowers a drink, and that is kind of what happened here (couldn't taste any guava or green tea notes), so take my opinion with a grain of salt. For food, we got the following: Course 1: - Lamb terrine (5/5 great if you like lamb, it is delightfully gamey - in a good way) - Tomato Tartare (3/5 I think I wasn't into the trout roe with this but it was fresh and nice) Course 2: - Pork sausage in crepinette (4/5 fun presentation but this didn't blow me away) - Ragu of wild mushroom with tofu gnudi (5/5 the sauce on this was so good) Course 3: - Fried chicken (5/5 perfectly fried and loved the pickles on the side) - Mapo tofu with sweetbreads (4/5 good but I've had better mapo tofu, not a big lover of organ meats but the sweetbreads were great) Course 4 (best course): - Beef cheek (5/5 so incredibly tender and flavorful) - Spiced lamb saddle (5/5 so many flavors going on and the meat was cooked to perfection) For dessert, we ordered the corn sabayon and the roasted strawberry desserts but they brought us the strawberry and melon desserts instead. We realized we didn't get the corn dessert until we were halfway through eating what we received. We mentioned it to our waiter jokingly but he actually brought us out the other dessert too, which was such lovely service. Honestly, even though we didn't order the melon dessert, it ended up being the sleeper hit because it was served with a an amazing creamy honey mousse underneath the melon shaved ice. It was really something special, and I'd highly recommend it. Overall, I'd recommend this for a nice date night or a splurge dinner with friends. It's not cheap, but the quality was definitely there both in their fare and their service. It was a great exploration of Asian fusion done in a fine dining/tasting menu-style.
