Favorite Thai place in Eastern Oregon! My girlfriend and I always stop into Pendleton to get it when we are driving on I-84 and always order more than we need because we love the leftovers. Thai Crystal's pad thai, mussaman curry, and yellow curry are our favorites but we have yet to find something we don't love on the menu! Thai Ice teas are also great! Can't say enough good things about this amazing restaurant in the most unlikely place. I will be back in the future, and often! read more

I had a meeting this morning, so stopped before driving back to Portland. The pace has a nice feel and the staff is friendly. I ordered a dish listed as hot. They forgot the heat. It was bland. It had good ingredients with a good balance between noodles, vegetables and meat. My big complaint is a lack of heat, despite 2 peppers on the menu. read more

Excellent Thai cuisine! I seek out southeast Asian food wherever I go when I'm not cooking it myself and this place is above average. My soup was freshly prepared with basil, lemongrass and galangal root, fresh mushrooms and fresh-tasting seafood (while likely and appropriately for eastern OR frozen). Just a delicious, clean and friendly place! love that i discovered it. Every meal ive had is so good. To name a few, some of the best pad thai (and ive had alot of it from many places around the country ). the tom kha soup is the best ive had so far, good balance of lemongrass and coconut milk. crab ragoons are delicious and you get one with their lunch specials along withe theor complimentary soup. We live in Pendleton and eat at Thai Crystal at least once per week. It is an oasis in the desert!! They have great food and service (a bit shy and reserved). I haven't tried anything I haven't liked. In response to the "fruit fly" comments from one reviewer - these are actually gnats and, unfortunately, this is a common occurrence two times every year in Pendleton and there is nothing anyone can do. Yelp indicates that Thai Crystal is the "Number One" rated restaurant in Pendleton so, while we were visiting in town, that's where we went for dinner. Got a friendly greeting from the servers as soon as we stepped inside. It was a quiet Monday night, but there were more than a few customers there, so it was a good sign that the place is popular. We ordered three things: Thai dumplings for an appetizer, Pad Thai with chicken, and yellow curry with chicken. The dumplings were great. . .very similar to Chinese steamed dim sum, specifically siu mai. Pad Thai was very flavorful but the noodles tended to be a bit stuck together and somewhat clumpy. Also, I would have liked some more fresh bean sprouts on it to add some more crispness and texture. Yellow curry was very good with a warm spicy flavor. Lots of chicken in it and also chunks of pineapple. Nice. We appreciated the friendly and efficient service too. Overall, we really enjoyed dinner at Thai Crystal. read more

Nice surprise in Pendleton. We were driving home to Seattle from Utah and needed some Asian food. We do A LOT of Thai in Seattle. I was nervous to try it here, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Excellent spice blends. And the vegetables were cooked to perfection in the curry - just enough crunch to give texture but not raw. Highly recommend the Thai Basil (different than the Spicy Basil dish). Made with ground meat, plenty of basil, green beans and a bit of bell peppers. Very different than the normal Thai Basil dishes, but excellent control of spice, basil and meat. read more

Maybe the best restaurant in Pendleton. Fresh food made delicious. I am determined to try it all somehow... But I love the Pad Thai and Thai Cashew dishes the most. The service is always friendly and the food is prepared beautifully. During watermelon season they cut up watermelons into artwork. And I love their hot tea. read more

We were seated quickly and they took our order right away but from then on the service was a bit inattentive. We had spring rolls for an appetizer and split a dish of chicken with spinach and broccoli covered with a peanut sauce which was very good and enough for the two of us. I eat here at least once a week. I really enjoy a number of their dishes but I eat the avocado fried rice with chicken more than anything else. I also get the chicken pad thai and it is wonderful. The staff are always fast and friendly. I would recommend to anyone. read more

Excellent Thai! And this from someone who's spent a lot of time in the Bay Area and Portland. Spent a summer in Pendleton and I ate here regularly, even weekly. Came as a complete surprise (because it's eastern Oregon) how fresh and delightful this food is. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. They don't skimp of the tofu or the veggies. We've only had Thai food a couple of times and really didn't know what to order. I would have given five stars because the food was great as was the service. The only problem was trying to communicate with the server as what to order. She wasn't very much help and difficult to understand. In rural places, it is often hard to find something other than your typical American fare. This place is a real gem in the desert. The Tom Kha soup was on point and the three flavor chicken reminded me of a Japanese katsu with an orange sauce, really tasty. It doesn't look like much from the exterior, but I would recommend this place to anybody looking for exceptional Thai. Good food, very clean, good service. Very glad we stopped in! The waitress was wary when my husband asked for five star Thai hot and the food could have been spicier! Some folks like it hot. My pineapple rice was very good. One small recommendation would be some background music. I could hear the rock n roll from kitchen even though I was sitting on the other side of the restaurant. Great service and food. The server was great about filling our waters and making sure everything was good. The orange chicken was really good. Unlike some Thai places, this place had great quality chicken. This is a big thing for me and the chicken was real and didn't have any junk on it. We also got the pork egg rolls. Everything was hot when she gave it to us which was nice. We were passing through from traveling and this was the perfect place to stop by. We have been having a hard time finding a place to stop and eat between Washington and Idaho and this is great! If given the opportunity will definitely have to come back. read more

I relocated from Portland and Thai Crystal beats any thai restaurant i've been too. We eat there almost every week. I have had many different items from the menu and each one has been excellent. The service is good too. Highly recommended! 10 stars!!! read more
