CASHEW DELIGHT
Nina K.

I was craving some crispy fish and really enjoy the garlic fish fillet dish here. It comes in a tangy sauce with cabbage, baby corn, and mushrooms. It's a very nice portion and pairs well with the steamed rice. We got the sate chicken for an appetizer and it was fresh, hot, and tender. I wanted some noodles so I got a tofu pad Thai. Unfortunately I found it to be overwhelmingly sweet. Even adding plenty of lime and chili did not balance it out. Next time I'll try a different noodle dish. The restaurant is on the smaller side but has a decent amount of seating. The servers are nice. One thing that stuck out for me on this last visit was that the soda sucked. Got a Coca Cola at first and it was very flat and tasted watered down. Then got a sprite and it just tasted off. Overall this is in and enjoyable, chill Thai place in the Bellaire area.

Pad Thai & Spicy Basil Fried Rice

This is my first time trying Thai food! I can with my family to have lunch and we saw this place passing by. We were greeted by our server who was very friendly and also spoke Spanish which was great for my parents! The inside is very cozy and nice! The music was at a good level too! I ordered the lunch special Pad Thai with level 3 spicy and it was very good! The spice level was tolerable and delicious! It came with the option of a soup or salad, I got the salad that came with a veggie roll! I ended up getting another order of veggie rolls! As a family, we ordered the spicy basil friend rice with level 3 spice. All of the prices were reasonable and the portions were big! The pad Thai can probably be shared with someone. It was super good! I highly recommend to anyone that is looking to try Thai food!

I love this Thai restaurant, I love the glass noodles the best, with chicken and shrimp. Combo Fried Rice and BBQ ribs are amazing!

The lunch special is a great deal $11.50 for salad/soup + large portion entree. We were pleasantly surprised that it is available on weekends too. The staff is nice. The pad Thai and the peanut sauce were both a little too sweet in my opinion so I'd probably order something else next time. The vinaigrette was a better option for salad dressing. I've had the curry before and it's great.

This was my first time dining in at this location. When you walk in, it is very clean and updated. Overall, the decor & ambience is modern & very appealing to the eye. We came in during lunch time so we ordered off of their lunch menu. Each entree came with a starter soup or salad & fried spring roll. You get a choice of protein for each entree option with NO UPCHARGE! I ordered the chicken garlic & pepper & my friend ordered the shrimp yellow curry. We both got a salad to start with vinaigrette dressing & it was pretty good. The garlic & pepper chicken was soooo good & very flavorful. It was my friend's first time having yellow curry and she really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back!

Pad Thai (lunch; with beef)

PARKING: There is a lot of parking in front and on the side of the building. AMBIANCE: It is a casual Thai restaurant. FOOD/DRINKS: I came in during a weekday to try their lunch. They have a variety of dishes to choose from! You can pick either to get soup of the day or a salad, and it also comes with a crispy veggie egg roll + your lunch dish. I ended up ordering the beef Pad Thai. Good amount of noodles and meat ratio. I thought it was good at first, but as I continue eating, it started to get too salty for my taste. I am not sure if it was an off day or that's what it is supposed to be. If I were to come back, I would try something else. I also ordered that Thai Iced Tea (5/5) would recommend this. It was really fragrant and refreshing which I believe they actually brew the tea leaves to make this. SERVICE: Service is excellent. As we got seated, we noticed there was water on the table, and our waiter immediately wiped it for us before we got the chance to ask.

Highly recommend pineapple fried rice, very delicious but very spicy too, tastes not too sweet or salty or sour, just alright

Very low quality ingredients and chicken Food tastes bad Service is bad I think they're understaffed The curry was cold and the prices are steep for what it is. Soups sweetness and tangy levels are off, doesn't taste authentic at all it's clear that they cut a lot of corners Really disappointed I wanted to find a nice Thai restaurant near me

It's in the most random alley/street in Bellaire but it has big portions, decent prices, and yummy food. It's clean here and has plenty of space. My family and I got pad Thai, pad see ew, and drunken noodles. I also got a Thai tea (very rich and creamy, on the sweeter side). The pad Thai was perfect, the pad see ew was lacking in noodle (had more toppings than noodle and was a bit burnt), and the drunken noodles had a great kick to them. Had a good experience this time and I usually do!

Great service. Very large menu. Food was amazing. Like that they have options for rice. Oh and great beer.

We shared a couple lunch specials. You get a choice between soup or a thai salad with it. My wife got the soup and I went with the salad, both very good. The Princess of Siam was very good, came with rice and a lot of grilled veggies.... and the chicken Teriyaki was amazing, it came with rice and veggies. Both meals came with a crispy egg roll.

Parking is a few spots up front and a few out back. Again, some signage could be helpful to let people know what to do in where to go. We were the only ones in at the time we walked through. Service was a little slow considering there weren't a lot of folks in there. We ordered the curry and Roti appetizer. Mild, but very flavorful curry, hits a deep savory with a slight sweetness note. The roti was burning hot! Delicious. The gal ordered the pad Thai, very tasty, and actually seemed like it had a little more heat on it than my spicy duck curry which was quite mild by comparison. The pad Thai was a generous portion. Duck curry was very flavorful, similar to the appetizer but with a deeper savory flavor. They said it was spicy. It was not, but still incredibly tasty. The duck does have bones in it, so chomp carefully. Lots of fruit and veggies in this curry. Served with rice, it's a good portion. Overall a great dinner. Would go back.

Service was friendly and answered all my questions. Note: When you sit down scan the QR code on the table to view the menu, order and pay. We decided to order: MEKONG CALAMARI 10/10 Fresh Squid, battered and fried in our famous Mekong in-house seasoning. Tossed in garlic, onions and fried basil. Crispy outside and tender inside. Seasonings were on point very flavorful. THAI MORNING GLORY (SPINACH) 8/10 Stir Fried fresh morning glory (water spinach), seasoned with garlic, chillies, soy sauce and delicious seasonings. Topped with fried garlic. Tender greens and nicely flavored. STICKY BASIL FRIED RICE 9/10 To me sticky rice is comfort food... chewy rice that feels like it will stick to your ribs. It's mixed with savory morsels of pork belly and asian sausage. Toss in a house made sauce. STEAK TIGER CRY 9/10 Marinated sous vide picanha cut steak, sliced and served with our sweet, savory lime sauce. Some pieces of meat slightly overcooked but all pieces were tender and flavorful. When the meat was paired with the savory lime sauce it kicked up the flavor to another level. Casual dining good for family, friends and dates On a busy day... parking is bad. There are limited spaces right in front of the strip center. There is an adjacent parking garage but on a super busy day that can also be a challenge.

My kids were on a mission to find a great-tasting bowl of pho, so we came across Old Saigon. And…read morewith a name like that, it has to taste homemade, right? The restaurant was easy to find, right off Main Street, and parking was a breeze. When we walked in, the restaurant had a modern look with a beautiful mural celebrating the homeland. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we'd like, so we picked a table and settled in. Our server came by with the menus, napkins, utensils, and plates, all neatly stacked, and then gave us some time before coming back to take our order. We ordered several different bowls of pho so everyone could try something -- salmon, steak and meatballs, and the combo (đặc biệt). Of course, we also had to try their dry pho. We also noticed they had a mango salad with a choice of protein, and since that sounded intriguing, we decided to give that a try too. The mango salad came out first, and I'm honestly still not quite sure how I feel about it. The mango was tart, and there was a creamy element that gave the salad an interesting texture and flavor. I did really like the grilled shrimp, though. Out of the protein options, I'd recommend the shrimp with this salad, although I could also see chicken pairing well with the flavors. Then came the pho. We tried several different broths, and they were all flavorful on their own. I didn't feel like they needed anything added unless you prefer extra spice or seasoning. I also really appreciated how generous they were with the basil. There was plenty to go around, which is always a win when you're eating pho! As we finished up, our server came back to the table with our check and small spoons filled with what looked like crème brûlée. We asked her what it was, and she said she didn't know. We mentioned that it looked like crème brûlée, and she agreed before walking away. I'm not sure if this was something complimentary, a leftover from another dish, or something we were supposed to know about, but it was definitely an unexpected ending to the meal. If you know what this was, I'd love to know! Overall, we'd definitely come back. The food was great, the pho was flavorful, and there were plenty of options for everyone. The service could use a little improvement. Our server seemed to have some difficulty communicating in English, and we could have used a few water refills during the meal. Nothing major -- we probably just needed to speak up more. Good food, easy parking, a nice atmosphere, and a family-friendly menu. We'd come back to try more of what Old Saigon has to offer.

I was so excited to try this restaurant because it was so highly rated on here…read more We ordered delivery and both ordered the pork bowl with a Bogo spring roll deal. The spring rolls were pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The dipping sauce they packed for both the spring rolls and pork bowls had a faint flavor of something that could have had potential, but did not deliver. There was a small garnish of pickled onions and shredded carrot that went so well with the pork bowls. If they included more of that, the bowls would have been star status. But they didn't. And they weren't. Overall, I had a decent lunch. Maybe next time I'll dine in to see if that makes a difference.
