It was about 45 mins before closing time so I was happy they were able to accommodate because Thai food was on my radar. During this evening, the service was prompt and courteous. The restaurant was spacious and well kept. The Chicken Satay, Chicken Pad Thai, Beef Pad See Ew, and Yellow Curry Chicken were all ordered during our dinner. The appetizer of the Chicken Satay accompanied with peanut sauce was scrumptious. (Their peanut sauce gave me inspo to try to make it at home!) I found their Chicken Pad Thai was drenched in a lot of sauce that caused it to be runny. The Beef Pad See Ew was a tad too salty for me. The soy sauce was overwhelming. The Yellow Curry Chicken was the winner winner chicken dinner of the evening. It was spicy, flavorful, and tasty. While I would not order the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew again, I would venture and try their curries in the future. read more

I met some friends here for dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant is cozy and was empty when we arrived but filled up quickly. Our waitress was friendly and helpful when we were trying to decide how spicy we should order our food. I had the tofu red curry and my friends ordered pan fried noodles and a red curry dish. All were delicious with just the right amount of heat. We decided to splurge and ordered the fried banana and coconut ice cream with three spoons. It was worth the calories. I swung by with a group for a quick lunch. The lunch specials are all very affordable, sub $10-ish, and cover the greatest hits. Also each lunch special comes with a salad, soup and rice. Food itself was good but not life changing. Portions are a good size especially considering the sides that come with each special. No complaints at our table amongst the 4 of us and everyone had an empty plate. Service was friendly and prompt though it was pretty sleepy. I've been searching for a good Thai place. We wanted to try this place out "post mask removal" We went for dinner and their service was nice and very attentive. Covid: required mask sign was still on the door and i don't mind it :) employees wore masks every time they went to the table! We had two servers practically wait on us. Very nice and very attentive! They even brought my kids stickers and a coloring sheet ( 1&3 yo) that was very nice of them! Ambiance: casual for sure and quiet. I felt horrible with my loud ass kids but they are young! Oh well! Food: Is the reason for my 4 stars. I wish i can put 4.5 stars, because some of their dishes were out of this world good! I was kinda disappointed with really only one dish. We ordered: Tom kha: coconut milk soup, which wasn't bad enough chicken and mushrooms two different sizes to order. We had a party of 6 (3 adults and 3 kids under 9) wasn't enough for the large so order 2 if you have a big party. Make sure to order it spicy when ordering because it doesn't come out that way without specifying. Pad see ew: soy sauce noodles, the reason we came here for my daughter , a little disappointed. It wasn't good but we ate it anyway. I don't know what it was missing but it just didn't hit right. Garlic pepper chicken dish: Now this dish was BOMB AF, excuse the language but it was so good it needed it! We ordered it spicy which it def had the spice, it was sooooo good! I couldn't stop eating it. Satay chicken. Comes with a cucumber salad and peanut sauce. The satay itself was pretty darn good comes in 6, i wanted to keep ordering more! The cucumber salad was a little too much. I usually like this type of side but it didn't work for me. Now this PEANUT SAUCE, is amazing!!!!! I have ordered for takeout various times here. I have yet to actually dine in. Food is ready quickly. Everything I have ordered has been delicious and the portions are great size. I've had their pineapple rice entre, the salmon entre with veggies (comes with side of steamed white rice), their shrimp rolls, Thai tea here is amazing, just wish they had lactose free options to go with it. Yummy Thai food!!! I was driving on Westheimer, and noticed this place in a little shopping strip. Just past it, there are so many choices of places to eat, but I just happened to be in a Thai kind of mood! The inside is a nice date place, there are no TVs (no distractions, just the company of your date), lights are slightly dimmed and the restaurant itself is quaint. Our waitress was nice & helpful - I love that she was actually Thai! Makes the experience feel more genuine. My meal was delicious - ordered mine with chicken and it was very filling. Love the vegetables associated with my noodles. My boyfriend's meal was also very delicious, more on the sweeter side. We are definitely coming back here next time we have a Thai craving. read more

Nope, nope and nope. Sooooo, it's lunch time again and we all pile into what has become the default vehicle for lunch transportation. The list of where to go is thrown out there and they are all torpedoed. We end up at Thai Bistro, pull into the shopping center and park, walk into the place and I get a bad feeling as there are maybe 4 tables with people in them and they do not have a happy Thai food face on that I would expect to see. They all look rather sad and are suffering from the dreaded "pushing of the food" around the plate syndrome. Not a good sign, but we take a seat anyway. The menus come with the waitress and we all look them over, not real impressive for lunch offerings so I flip to the back and order the Tamarind Shrimp. There is sadly no Orange Fanta, I asked and got the "WTF is Orange Fanta" look. So water it is and the automatic deduction of a star ticks off in my head. I look around again and everyone is still suffering from the "pushing of the food" syndrome. But at least the porcelain Buddha is pretty cool looking so I am hoping for the best. The food arrives and looks ok, interesting and different but looks ok. I take to eating a shrimp and put it into my mouth. The best thing I can say about it is this: if you were a participant on "Naked and Afraid" and were on day 13 of the challenge stuck in some who knows where crack of the world with no protein intake since day one and this plate of shrimp washed ashore with its petrified side of rice, then you would thank God you had it and eat it all up. Of course you would soon learn that you have acquired some weird aftertaste that will linger with you for 4 hours that only pecans and Double Stuff Oreos can get rid of, but at least you would have had some protein to help get you through to extraction. So yes, as I sat there looking at my plate, I too was infected with the dreaded "pushing of the food" syndrome. It was very sad. But at least I had the Oreos to bring the world back to center and again that porcelain Buddha was pretty cool. read more

People often measure Thai restaurants by traditional pad thai. The first time I ever experienced Thai food, at a little restaurant in Greensboro, N.C., not unlike Thai Bistro, I became an instant lover of massaman curry. It is something I always order the first time at a new Thai place, and usually decides whether I become a returning customer. There is something luxurious and slightly mysterious about the combination of tender beef, coconut milk, tamarind paste, carrots, potatoes and peanuts. Is it Thai? Is it Indian? Meat and peanuts? I'm sure there are many better Thai restaurants, but I really loved this little place on Westheimer near my apartment complex. Not many people around, attentive wait staff, just a quite little bistro off the main drag. I ordered a glass of wine (there's also a selection of beer and drinks like sweetened Thai iced coffee and tea) and an appetizer of fried shrimp rolls. These came out fresh, not fried, delicate and filled with a few decent sized shrimp, noodles and very fresh greens. The rolls were accompanied by an incredibly delicious peanut sauce that was so dark it resembled caramel and tasted just as amazing. The massaman curry was, truly, among the best I've ever had. Although very, very skimpy on the peanuts, the dish was sweet, savory, warming and perfectly spiced. I've had massaman curry where the carrots and potatoes were undercooked, but these were perfect. The dish was served with a generous side of rice. I left very little behind, and would definitely return just for this dish alone. Glass of wine, appetizer and entree totaled about $27. read more

This place is pretty good! I came here on a Saturday night and had a nice experience. Food: I ordered the chicken curry and was impressed. They give you a lot in the order, not enough for 2 people but enough for one person to have leftovers. It had good flavor and I recommend going up a spice level to enhance the experience. The chicken curry also had green beans in it which made the curry way better. The extra texture just made the dish stand out. Service: The service was a bit slow. The server was nice and all but we had to wait a long time for our food and our check. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is great! It's really nice inside with art pieces inside. There's a patio for outdoor seating. And there's always parking! We didn't have to wait for a table either. Overall, had a great experience and would recommend this restaurant. My kids and I met my wife for lunch at this place today as her office is located close by. The YELP reviews overall seemed positive and we were in the mood for Thai food so we popped in! We were greeted promptly and seated and it was a fairly busy lunch hour but the only thing that annoyed me was when we were ready to order it seemed like forever before someone came by to wait on us. Maybe the place was understaffed today but that was the impression I got. Once we were waited on all progressed well afterwards. The lunch specials are ok. They come with a peanut dressing salad and a nice soup. The soup was pretty good! I ordered the chicken fried rice which I thought was kinda dinky for the price but that's just me I guess. The Thai restaurant in Sugar Land that I frequent, Thai Cottage is much more generous with the serving sizes for the money I feel. Anyways...other than that everyone seemed to enjoy their lunch. Another annoying thing was that nobody seemed to come by to check and see if we needed our water glasses refilled. That's one of my BIG pet peeves and it seemed to be a pain to catch anyone's eye to do so. So to recap...the interior is nice. The food was ok. I know a picture is worth a thousand words. I've been eating here for over 4 years. Today went by for the usual, Pad Thai beef. The cashier table is blocked by a row of tables as they should to enforce social distancing. The two cashiers both had mask. Great job! You look thru the window where cooks please food that is ready and both had their mask around their necks. -2 stars for each I mentioned it to the cashier, male probably in 20's. "I said great job on enforcing social distancing and mask, but look at your cooks. " His response was Oh! And immediately goes back to his conversation with the other cashier. -1 more. Located in a seemingly doomed shopping center where almost every restaurant/shop has shut down and been replaced with something new (RIP Berryhill, that steak place, and other non-memorable stores), I am so happy there is a great Thai establishment that will hopefully be in business for a very long time! I love Thai food and it makes me happy to find a new place near my work. For lunch, I ordered my staple, Pad Thai. For $7.95, I got a huge to go box of Shrimp and Chicken Pad Thai (only 2 shrimps, but nevertheless a great addition without having to pay extra), side salad with peanut dressing, and a smashing egg roll. Overall, the food was really delicious, and the portion size was huge. I ordered my Pad Thai "hot" which was just perfect, and points to them for automatically giving me chopsticks and a packet of plastic utensils. Their packaging is done with fine attention to detail as all sauces are in small containers on the side and everything is partitioned and separated in different boxes. The decor inside is modern and charming and it actually does remind me of a "bistro" with stemware already on each table which is covered with white butcher paper. Although I did not eat there, my experience while ordering and waiting was more than pleasant.
