I'm so glad Thai Bistro has decided to open back up. The same owners as the ever so popular Memphis Mojos with their delicious burgers a few doors down. We tried a few dishes today and were not disappointed. It felt like the original Thai Bistro all over again. We started off with the Curry pot stickers and Tiger shrimp. Both fried just right with the pot stickers having a slight heat with the red curry flavor for the sauce while the tiger shrimp was fried just right with a side of sweet chili sauce. My gf had a bowl of their chicken tom yum soup. A good spicy and sour soup to start the palate off. Our entrees were the Nam tok (beef salad) and Pad khee mao with shrimp. Both were spicy dishes as well which is what we liked. The beef was tender with the light spring mix tossed with lime, chili, cilantro and onion. The shrimp pad khee mao was on point as well. This is how pad khee mao should be done. Wide noodles sauteed with their spicy garlic peppers, carrots, eggs, onions, bell peppers, bean sprouts and basil leaves. It was delish. I kinda wanted seconds but was too full already. I was pleased with our meal and will be back soon. Thw service was exceptional like a local mom and pops place. Excellent Thai food. Try their Drunken Noodles. I love the Tofu fried rice. Not a big fan of Tofu - each piece of fried Tofu in their fried rice is deliciously crispy. Good service. Only negative is very limited operating hours. read more

Don't order the spring roll appetizer. It was a roll full of lettuce and a half piece of shrimp on each side. When I asked if we could get another piece of shrimp we were told no, it's only $2 so it only comes with one piece split in half! My husbands curry was OK, my sweet and sour crispy chicken was soggy. This was our first Tennessee food experience so it's possible there's just a different standard here than we are used to. read more

We get chicken pad thai carryout about once a month. Price is a bit higher than elsewhere but the food is better.

i ordered Tom Yum soup and in no way resembled Tom Yum soup at all. I even questioned the store where my Tom Yum soup was and they said that's what it was a clear broth with two shrimp and floating mushrooms and that's all. Do they even know what Yum soup is? Tom Yum is a coconut face soup with lemon grass and sometimes vegetables but not a clear soup with two shrimp and a little bit of mushrooms. I love this place! The employees are super nice! We got the drunken noodles, pad Thai, wontons, and the daily special. DUDE. the daily special was incredible! Ribeye steak, cooked and seasoned to charrey perfection! I think the special thing about this place is the service. I went back in September and the guy remembered me today, even remembered that my date is a teacher, lol Always clean, and the sound is comfortable enough to hold a conversation without feeling like you need to raise your voice. Visiting from out of town with my sister, and we were looking for good Thai. Her favorite dish is Panang Curry and we found this restaurant on-line and fairly close to our hotel. She ordered chicken satay and panang curry and I ordered massaman curry. All three dishes were AMAZING!! The service was fast and our waitress was darling and very attentive. This restaurant is a little gem. Several tables were seated when we walked in with delicious looking food, and the front door was continuous with to-go orders. Thai Bistro is back! I can't even tell you how excited I was when i found out. Went there for lunch today and I am here to testify that although it's not the cheapest lunch special around, it very well may be one of the tastiest! Service is fast and friendly, atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, and the lunch menu is extensive. You also get a small bowl of the absolute best Tom Yum soup I have ever had. Ever. It was spicy and sour and perfect. I had the red curry today, medium spicy, which tantalized my taste buds with its memory invoking magnificence. The portion? huge! The flavor? intense! The leftovers? massive! The rice was prepared well, the spices in the curry were on point, and my friend who got a noodle dish (I was so focused on my curry that I couldn't pay attention to which) said his meal was excellent too. By the way, I also got an order of eggrolls and they were good too but just overshadowed by the monumental tastiness of this lunch curry. After trying many different Thai restaurants all over Memphis and not being satisfied, we have FINALLY found great Thai food! Cannot recommend this place enough. From the appetizers, to the soup, to the entrees, everything was so good. The red curry pot stickers and fresh spring rolls with shrimp were super tasty. The Tom yum soup had so much flavor. And the pad Thai and red curry combo dishes were to die for! The 30 minute drive is definitely worth it. We will be back for sure! read more

They were very unique and such a great combination! The fresh rolls were a bit unsatisfying, however... I think we had higher expectations for them. There wasn't much flavor at all, even with the thick peanut sauce on the side. The drunken noodles were also very flavorful and enjoyable. The fried shrimp rolls were pretty similar to any other fried rolls, but just with shrimp inside. Thoroughly enjoyed their Panang (Red) Chicken Curry! It was on point! They also had great customer service! Didn't get any pictures because we had take out, but this was our second time there, and the curry was just s as good as the first time. We ordered the beef pad see ew, fish supreme, and an order of the curry potstickers. The pad see ew was on point - the beef was tender and the fresh basil was delicious! The fish supreme was also very tasty. We ordered to-go since the restaurant isn't open due to COVID. They forgot the jasmine rice for the fish and you can't really eat curry without rice... so once we got home, we had to wait another 30 minutes before eating because we had to make our own rice - that's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. I spent 18 dollars on these 2 dishes. The beef salad didn't look like it had 6 oz beef in it like it stated on the menu, and barely any salads at the bottom. It's so tiny for $10. The soup is half the container. Not enough for $7. Seriously??? I paid $18 not including tip. I could have gotten so much more and quality for $18. So disappointed in thai bistro. 3-Star Review is for Dinner: So my last visit was during lunch on a weekday. I decided to revisit on a weekend evening. Service: A bit slow...waitress would disappear for a while. Got to the point I needed assistance from the hostess. Food: This time I had the Drunken Noodles (chicken) and wife had Red Curry (chicken). Taste and quality is still superb; however, the quantity of my dish was a let down. It was a very small serving to a point where I had to share with my wife. The quantity of red curry was good, but the rice was a small portion leaving too much red curry left over. Should be better balanced. The portion of the pad thai i ordered for lunch was far more than the drunken noodles. Cost: Too high for evening. Oddly the lunch cost is better with better portions. The cost of any fried rice was $12.00....way overpriced. Restaurant: Clean in the exception when I happen to look up and saw the return vent which was covered with black dust. Also, my wife's bowl that was served with Red Curry was chipped...didn't notice until we finished. To summarize, I will visit again, but only for lunch; however, Urban Fusion on Exter Road is still my #1 spot. read more
